  1. I think it was a romantic, but still odd all the same, move that Ralph shouldn’t have sanctioned, unless he is Ona tiny salary (say £30k pw). Much more and it would be madness. I can understand him coming on with 15 to go, but not starting.
  2. Yep, I think i said me piece on that one, dont get involved with that on here. I did message last couple of days there, but not really for me anymore - I found the whole place is really very quiet these days!
  3. Yep, I think problems start with expecting to win things, or expecting things go a certain way. Like Lighthouse said, he did what we needed at the right time. Id love him back at Saints in some capacity. Then again, id still like Rickie Lambert on the bench 😞
  4. Hello mate, good to see you over here 👍
  5. Interesting to see Nick Pope low down on the list, he played a blinder on Saturday, hooping he reverts to seasons form for our game.
  6. This clearly isn’t right - I thought we had a number of experts telling us we will be relegated with AM in goal this season…
  7. Ah ok, didn’t realise that was what you meant.
  8. How do you think we could have got any money for Bertrand who was out of contract? Do you honestly believe Ings was worth £50m with one year left on his deal? Im not sure we could have done any better on Ings and we for sure couldn’t get money for an out of contract player, even Levy couldn’t have managed that.
  9. The goalkeeper will be sorted in Jan window or summer at the latest. Long and Foster are out of contract in the summer.
  10. It would be more balanced if we took our own absentees into consideration. JWP S Armstrong (only got 30 mins coming back from injury) Che Jack Stephens All the above are first team players for us. No different to Leeds. The way we played was decided by Ralph, and this stopped them being able to play, rather than them being poor. The main thing we lacked in our previous games this season is confidence, we played pretty well in all the games apart from 45 v Everton. Winning usually breeds confidence, which I think will make it easier to create and score.
  11. I understand, and thanks, it is nice to have a reasonable chat on here from time to time 👍 I guess I feel Ralph has been tweaking the system since we didnt win any of the first 3 or 4 games, trying to get a way where we have more attacking threat. Like the Sheff Utd game, where you acknowledge Broja didnt do much (same as others in that game) for me that is the same as AA and Che have suffered from in our first 7 games - a lack of service. For me that doesn’t make it a cert that Broja should start ahead of the either of them, just maybe what system(s) we play and the opposition will dictate that. I think AA will turn out a good signing in the end, I mean he would have likely scored the goal Broja got today, but Broja has the shirt and can understand him playing more regularly.
  12. Yep good points here. Ralph played the perfect system and needed Broja. He may use the same system next weekend, but if he changes the system, he may need to change the players slightly. I thought Broja was OK today, but not as good as Ely and Redmond in an attacking sense, the goal aside, which was great play by Moussa, and Redmond. Broja could have scored in the 1st half when played through by Tino (I think) but got the ball stuck under his feet.
  13. Why not? Ralph sees him every day in training. I get you dont rate the other strikers, or prefer Borja, but he has to be ready. Out of interest, what did you make of his start against Sheff Utd?
  14. Possible. Or Ralph has been working with him all season so he is good at the things the manager wants him to do. That is also plausible.
  15. Not sure what game youre watching Sid, thought Redmond has been pretty good 1st half.

  17. Yep I think it is natural SA starts on the bench, his fitness will be miles behind the other players and he will need time to get back to usual. I’m happy with him getting 20 mins or so, and bagging our third.
  18. Maybe going as a back three… Slight change if formation, Perraud LB at Tino or KWP at RB.
  19. He was waving play on on that clip, he is a Tranmere fan, why would he celebrate a Spurs goal, even if he supported them. no conspiracy theory as such for me, other than I don’t think he likes us much and is pretty incompetent
  20. I think with our defenders we will never look like a rock at the back, but Ralph has made us slightly harder to score against, although I think if he had said to the club he will carry on regardless this season the way we played last, I think they would have moved him on. Not sure about Howe, but if our form continues to be as bad as it has, or even with only a slight improvement I think we are in trouble. Still looking forward to the next run of games, although think we will know what way the club will go forward in 3 games time.
  21. I’d suggest this season we are miles better defensively than last season, he has definitely tightened up or play at the expense of stacking, and needs to find the balance pretty quick.
  22. So if Im reading this correctly, we are not getting taken over as the City has some nice areas, and some not nice areas, and is the same as most cities?
  23. JWP was telling him how he tried to intercept his throw to play a safe 3 yard pass to Chillwell.
  24. Was Gabbiadini our last Jan purchase?
