Let's say £50k per week wages = £2.6m per year (assuming it is paid on a 'contractor' basis rather than PAYE, so no additional NI, pension etc etc). £0 transfer fee. Compare that to Tall Paul for example where it cost £18m in transfer fees PLUS wages on top of that. It really isn't that much in footballing terms.
