Absolutely. You want clean air, ban the vehicles causing the pollution. Pretty simple solution really. Stop fucking about with half arsed measures and the children will stop dying, after all that's what it's all about, right, and definitely not a revenue raising tool. You seem to be happy that the little children are dying because of the higher emission cars, so good to know where you stand 👍

Imagine the clean air if they were banned. Ultimately that's the goal, seems like a simple solution....

London? Get them to Staplewood, give them the full VIP treatment and showcase all the shit we want rid of!
-
I wasn't referring to your post....

Half the sceptic isle just pricked their ears up

We're the richest club in the world though.....

It has clearly escaped you, but the law says they don't have to. The problem would therefore be against the law to force people to go to court to hear their sentence. Change the law and the problem goes away. I'll wager the law doesn't get changed though....

Whilst at the moment it predominantly targets diesel cars that have particulate filters and legislation in place to reduce the level of particulate output, so the additional taxation on those vehicles is not needed. Levels will come down naturally once older cars are replaced. If it truly WAS about air quality, non compliant vehicles would be banned completely and not allowed to continue polluting just because they've swelled the coffers! Not that I give a shit as I don't go to that there London and on the rare occasions I visit Bristol my car is compliant. It just seems unnecessary to have these zones on top of the legislation - but since Boris was involved originally, it's not a surprise!

ULEZ is on top of the congestion charge.

They won't be selling the old car, it will be scrapped. Not great for "reuse and recycle" initiatives

The consequences of her actions are the rest of her life in prison, not standing in court and listening to a judge issuing sentence. Rest assured she will be facing those consequences each and every day.
-
I'm assuming that is why there is legislation covering ALL diesel cars since 2014 (source) regarding particulate filters. There should be no need for ULEZ if legislation already exists to control this pollution, unless of course the aim is to generate income. On that note, can anyone find any concrete evidence of what the money raised is spent on? There are several wishy washy statements about re-investing in transport (including walking FFS!), but no hard figures available. Although it does seem as if a large chunk of the money raised is being used to set up the expanded ULEZ to generate yet more income!
-
Is there a source for that? It looks a little convenient that there is a camera there capturing the image of the plane in flames at that exact moment, with no other visible damage anywhere....

Would be good to make sure we don't get any more viruses.

This is just crazy. It seems like you're suggesting he walks away from his contract - that runs until 2025 - and accepts LESS money. Has there EVER been an instance when a footballer has accepted less money when they still have a contract running? The only possibility is if West Ham get fed up paying his wages in full and accept a loan deal that will recoup some of them....

Well, would you look at that, a climate scientist with an agenda. Who knew, eh?

£180 per year in tax for that Punto with CO2 emissions of 140g per KM. Meanwhile a 2012 1.6 blue drive Hyundai i30 with £0 tax per year and CO2 emissions of 97g per KM will cost £12.50 per day to drive in ULEZ. There is no sense to this made up tax, especially when lower CO2 emissions are punished while higher CO2 emissions are able to pollute as much as they like for no additional cost.

They're putting a yellow scarf on this one 🤣

Or, conversely, we get in the people we need to push for promotion in the summer and the January window will be about attracting players that will do a job in the prem - a lot easier to attract players who want to play in the prem if you are in the top 2 with half the season done....
-
Are we b-anned from the January window?

Thanks for the condescension, but I won't be taking you as the arbiter of right and wrong. Legally she is entitled to not go to sentencing or judgement. Forcing families to come face to face with someone who doesn't give a flying fuck about what they've done isn't justice - despite what the former director of public prosecutions suggests. She has been given a prison sentence from which there will be no release, that is the only justice that matters. As for your nonsense about finding a victim of serious crime, should we make all victims of rape and sexual assault confront their perpetrators, especially those that have shown zero remorse? Sounds like a triffic idea that
-
Which could,in theory, be detrimental to the families in question if they don't receive the reaction they are looking for, therefore her not being present could be the "right" thing for the families???
-
Why is it "not right"?
-
I'm not convinced £2k can do that... Edit : or at least a "reliable" working car!

Could be worse, we could've ended up with Sean Dyche 🙃
