It's really not that difficult to comprehend. If everyone is locked down, people aren't mixing together so the virus isn't able to spread - see also lockdown 1 & 2 for further examples! During a full lockdown, there is no opportunity for the vaccines to show what they are able to do as the virus isn't spreading! Boris wasn't claiming they don't work, merely that they didn't have the opportunity to do so! If you had a malaria vaccine but then spent the entire summer sitting in your back garden in Southampton, would you claim it was the vaccine that stopped you getting malaria or the thousands of miles between you and the disease?

Likewise in Bristol, I would guess about 20% of the population are black. However, a policeman who predominantly polices St Paul's is likely to receive most of their complaints from black people. That, in itself, doesn't make them racist. If you spend all day policing areas populated by a certain demographic, you are likely to receive complaints from that demographic.

At the time they said it, it WAS lockdown that brought the rates down - just like it did during lockdown 1 and 2. Nobody is arguing that vaccines won't also be effective from now on (in fact that are saying they may now be more effective), they are just saying that lockdown was the most effective measure at the time - let's not forget that only a few thousand people had been vaccinated when it started, but tens of millions have been jabbed a few months later...

I don't know the demographic make up of the area he is was policing, but my guess would be that it is predominantly black? Wouldn't that make it statistically plausible for him to be dealing almost exclusively with black offenders? The one thing we can say for certain is that it was police brutality.

I've never had any personal experience of aliens, does that mean they exist? Am I a complete nutjob Trump supporter if I say they don't? Isn't our entire belief system based on nothing more than our own personal experiences?

India is having a nightmare! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-56826645 Incredible really when you consider that just over a month ago they were having a phased lifting of lockdown with 57,000 people attending the T20 v England on March 13th! More than 180,000 deaths recorded so far in a country that doesn't truly know how many people live in it!

Pretty stupid statement of yours then stating the obvious about everyone knowing what the outcome would be. Why did you feel the need to bring colour into your example?

Lol. Once more you show why you really are dim witted. I appreciate that you have zero concept of the hypothetical, however, in this case there was an issue raised regarding the illegal possession and use of fentanyl. Do the multiple angles show this? Hypothetically speaking ( which you don't understand, but at least give it a try), the coroner could have found that the use of fentanyl caused his breathing to stop. As it was, the introduction of this evidence "could" have caused reasonable doubt to a completely impartial jury. Were there any of the multiple angles that showed this use of the drug?

Odd that you would post the bit in bold, did you think I didn't understand that he broke the law? Any chance you can explain why your post stating "If it had been a black man who put his knee on a police officers neck until he died it would be pretty obvious what the verdict would be though." is relevant in any way, shape or form?

I've had the shits that lasted longer than the ESL 😉
-
Like I said, no idea whether any of them have been vaccinated - this is anecdotal from a nurse who works in the hospital, so it could be that none of them are vaccinated....
-
Mental. So, you're comparing a police officer kneeling on someone's neck (I'm not condoning what he did or the way he did it, just pointing out that a police officer has a lawful obligation to detain someone who is under arrest), with a black man kneeling on a police officers neck (not sure why you've mentioned a colour as frankly it is irrelevant, as I'm not sure there are any circumstances in which a member of the public would be legally obliged to detain a serving police officer, let alone kneel on their neck!), as if that was somehow equivalent?

Maybe the one ray of light from all this is the news that Spurs are apparently £1bn in debt! Fingers crossed they go pop over the summer!

To be fair, Weston General has had to reopen its covid ward as it has gone from zero to 19 patients in the last week. Could just be a blip and no idea of the makeup of the patients and whether any have been vaccinated.

Avram Grant has finally been given the opportunity to speak his mind on the ESL issue by the BBC. They mentioned his management of Chelsea but forgot to say anything about his magnificient stint with the skates (they also forgot to mention him bothering the local hookers). Words of wisdom indeed!

Never forget, it's dates not data that counts. No, that's not right is it, data not dates???

My prediction, it'll go ahead. The big six will stay in the Premier League and there will be no consequences as no-one has the balls to rock the boat. Sky will buy a massive chunk of the TV rights and Neville and Carragher will be shown up for the hollow hypocrites they are when they appear as the studio pundits for the first game! The Premier League may become incidentally more competitive as the six or seven competing in the new league won't be too bothered about the teams they field so 'surprise' results will become the norm (bookies will get richer!).

Do you think Lindo Bacon may have some kind of agenda?

All those saying the players will be put off if they can't play for the country have clearly never seen England play - no heart, no passion, no trophies! England - the SFC of world football!

She didn't mean to do it! In a gun crazed society like the US, if the police can't tell the difference between a tazer and a 9mm pistol when it's in their own hands, they really have no business being police officers
