First we had the CPS not bothering to prosecute sexual offences (nice one Soggy!), then the Government are trying to introduce a bill to make the burden of proof higher, now we have the prison service happily letting (alleged) sexual offenders go! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-56554492

Maybe a little too risque?

You should have told the police that and given them the benefit of your clearly superior intelligence and tactics when it comes to policing demonstrations, protests and vigils as it looks like they don't know. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-56477887 Presumably they were just letting them light their candles and shit and waiting for them to get bored and go home. Who knew that a peaceful protest could turn violent - obviously they needed detective super cop aintclever in their ranks to learn them good and proper!

Third night of protests in Bristol https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-56542893 Detective super cop aintclever's tactic of leaving them alone until they get bored and go home didn't work so well on Sunday, looks like they've been encouraged to come back for rounds two and three.

If he's been suspended it is likely to lead to a dismissal (at worst) - you can't sue for constructive dismissal if you've been dismissed, only wrongful dismissful or (rarely) breach of contract. If he resigns during the suspension he could potentially claim for constructive dismissal.

Not long now for Plan B.

Re-examining and learning from history

Do you think people are walking around and grinning when they visit Bodmin Jail - or do you only class amusement parks as tourist attractions? -
Despite the dull content, this show must blow your mind... https://dave.uktv.co.uk/shows/hypothetical/

Not sure you can get STDs from a cough... I imagine that's what the S and T stand for

And to be fair, it was a hypothetical answer to the hypothetical question of what more the Government "could" be doing to control infections. If used at the right time it could have been as effective as quarantine hotels have been in Australia. It's just a pity that aintclever, ain't clever enough to understand something that is hypothetical.

To be fair, they've not exactly been hiding the fact that they want the UK economy to bounce back and fuck the rest of the world (I agree to be fair), remember 'eat out to help out'? I imagine this summer will see similar themes but supersized, trying to get as many people to stay in the UK as possible and spend as much cash as they possibly can within the UK to boost the treasury funds! My advice - steer clear of the M5 and Cornwall from June to September!

Absolutely mental idea. Anyone who thinks that is a good idea must be the most stupid person in the world. https://www.washingtonpost.com/travel/2020/03/19/with-coronavirus-overwhelming-facilities-land-carnival-offers-its-cruise-ships-makeshift-hospitals/ Idiots, what were they thinking? Didn't they think to consult aintclever before pitching such a lunatic idea?

Yet another reason to add to the growing list of reasons why you would never be in charge of the country.
-
That's OK, just make sure you don't repeat the mistake.

Which other services are they redirecting the money to after they have defunded the military?
-
I'd never tire of whelk trying to show anyone how anything is done
-
Well, cutting the number of soldiers anyway, so the money can be used to fund other initiatives. More of a re-direction of funds than a defunding isn't it?
-
How unlike you not to recognise when a peaceful vigil (and let's be frank, that's exactly what it was for many hours before the speeches started), gets highjacked by those with a different agenda and becomes something else. You'd be right at home in Police Academy.

Looks like they've tried doing it detective super cop aintclever's way : https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-56477887 What was the end result? Still, good job nobody got wrestled to the ground and had hand cuffs put on them Good job they were only protesting for the right to peacefully protest!

33 arrests yesterday at protests in London. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56469687 Are these ones good arrests or bad arrests, given that there were men, women and children present? Not a lot of masks in view and pretty much zero social distancing.

To be fair, you can see the police talking to them for a good 20 seconds of that 45 second video (and doubtless lots longer before the edit). I'm assuming they were explaining (over and over) that if they don't move on and stop breaking the coronavirus act, they will have no choice but to arrest them - but obviously we can't hear that. However, I imagine these breaches have been heard in court by now, so presumably, if they were sat there all peaceful and innocent, the judge / magistrate would have thrown the case out wouldn't they? Not seen that in the news yet.

This case is interesting : https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-coventry-warwickshire-56459217 Obviously we aren't aware of ALL the facts but the write up by the BBC suggests that he 'grabbed and manhandled' Emma whilst he was drunk, forcing her to the floor, which must have been horrific for her and the guy is an idiot. The theme of the story seems to be that the police officer should receive a longer sentence purely based on the fact that he was a police officer. That doesn't sound right to me. Whilst on duty, yes, police officers should be held to higher standards, but should the same apply whilst off duty? At the time of the attack, it would have been a case of drunk idiot wrestles woman to the ground and presumably that is what the sentence is based on. Emma claims that she found out later that he was a police officer (although the article doesn't say how much later), and that is what made the impact more severe for her. Should police receive longer sentences or is the fact that the treatment they are likely to receive in prison enough pennance?

1. I know, I posted the link to the ONS and highlighted the fact, but if it makes you feel like you've got one over on me, fill your boots! 2. I think you've confused yourself again. I mentioned the unhealthy lifestyle in relation to the number of under 65s that died in 2020 - it may have escaped your notice but the old, fat and unhealthy are the ones dying. Not sure what your comment about excess deaths is about, the quote I posted earlier said the same thing! 3. Lol. You posted "For total cases UK is fifth worst of 153 countries behind Russia, China, Brazil and US - all with populations 2-20 times greater". I think you may be having a breakdown as you can't even remember what you post. I've taken the liberty of highlighting where you have trumpeted China as being better than the UK.
