  1. Don't fret, I read it. The petition is basically suggesting Southampton FC should 'formally request' that the FA withdraw the England team from the world cup : Whilst it may be 'well intentioned' it is, quite frankly, doomed to failure. Not least because (right now) only 49 people have signed it which isn't exactly overwhelming support is it? But also, who in their right mind would think that 1. SFC is going to make such a request to the FA and 2. Even if they did pluck up the courage to do so, who on the planet would think that the FA would give a shiny shit about the request, 'formal' or otherwise?
  2. Is that planned?
  3. Money talks.
  4. Ah, right. Makes perfect sense. You are happy for major world sporting events to go ahead in Russia and China despite their worse human rights records. On the other hand, you'll happily sign a petition to boycott the Qatar World Cup (that you were never going to attend anyway) in a grand gesture of virtue signalling. As ever, literaly nothing about you makes sense. (no doubt you'll now trot out your line about the corruption which awarded Qatar the finals in the first place, completely ignoring the fact that this happens every single time the World Cup finals are decided).
  5. So what was your inference when you posted this? What exactly are the 'obvious faults' that you are happy to ignore when they are awarded these sporting events?
  6. Perhaps it's passed you by, but the UK Government cannot change the laws of other countries. What we consider (in the UK and elsewhere) to be unacceptable practices, like slavery, poor working conditions, appalling health and safety etc etc, can be deemed perfectly reasonable in the countries that they take place.
  7. Lol that you think China has a better human rights record than Qatar! Didn't see anyone protesting or boycotting the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and the protests and planned absences from the Beijing Winter Olympics of 2022 are suspiciously quiet...
  8. Not sure you've truly understood the principles of 'carbon neutral', but that comes as no surprise.
  9. Surely the boycotts and petitions should have happened years ago so as to avoid all those deaths - genuine boycott of the world cup = no point building all the stadiums! Isn't this just making sure the stable door is closed?
  10. Yep, ALL flying is pointless and polluting and should be banned, oh wait, maybe there's an exception https://www.eurocontrol.int/news/playing-key-role-global-covid-19-vaccine-distribution

  12. I would say that the current rhetoric is pretty obvious. The group with the highest number of 'anti vaxxers' is the 20 - 35 year olds (completely understandable given the minimal effects that the virus has on this group). It therefore stands to reason that a certain amount of 'scaremongering' will happen the closer we get to that age group being due for their jabs. Expect the messages to get more and more 'encouraging' over the coming months....
  13. This seems to be the reason, the figures for the others just don't stack up. Unless some mutant strain comes along between now and then - and so far, they've gone on record to say the vaccine is effective against the current strains - which no-one can reliably predict, then a biblical third wave isn't possible due to herd immunity, which is only going to get stronger from now on as more vaccines are given. My guess is this is part of the 'spin' to encourage people to get jabbed and not worry about the side effects.
  14. And Henry once clapped.
  15. Why have you only complained about the report after it was published? If you knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that the report authors were hand picked and had the conclusion sewn up before they even started, why did you wait until the report was published and not say a word about it before hand? Or are you just virtue signalling?
  16. Lol. You say that as if it somehow proves your misguided claim that teachers are surrounded by hundreds of symptomless, yet infected, children. If a LFT test is positive, the child testing positive and their family . bubble have to self isolate - ergo the kid is NOT in school. In some areas (like North Somerset), a LFT test is not backed up by a PCR test (note, you haven't even got the types of test right), so everyone has to isolate for 10 days! If anything, that policy will keep not only the infected kids but also some falsely positives kids out of school. So, any actual evidence yet that teachers are surrounded by hundreds of symptomless, yet infected, childred?
  17. No, no - you have me there. Fancy me suggesting that teachers couldn't possibly be surrounded by hundreds of symptomless but infected children. I feel so dumb and you are clearly far more superior. Imagine making such a suggestion when you know for a fact that kids (in secondary schools at least) HAVE to have at least one, but more commonly TWO covid tests each and every week. Imagine someone being so stupid as to suggest it is very unlikely that teachers will be surrounded by symptomless kids when you are armed with this freely available information. What a complete fuckwit I must be to argue against your suggestion
  18. Does your question still stand or is it now purely rhetorical? Any actual evidence for that or have you just made it up to prove some misguided point?
  19. Another own goal from aintclever! Sunday's vigil proceeded for several hours without any police intervention - there's even a picture of the future queen lighting some candles and shit. The tactics only changed once the protesters started giving speeches, hurling abuse etc. Would have thought detective super cop aintclever would have been more clued up. Apparently not.
  20. Fuckwit. There are plenty of regional variations that don't include taxis. Source = your own link that you only partially read 😉
  21. Despite timmy getting all confused again, the answer is yes, another stunning own goal from aintclever.
  22. Do you really need me to point out why they should vaccinate health care workers (regardless of age)? Do you think it might have something to do with where they work (hospitals, care homes) and the people they are highly likely to come into contact with (ill and elderly people)? If you can't figure out why a 20 year old health care worker was vaccinated given that they are way more likely to come into contact with ill and elderly people before a 20 something teacher, who will come in to contact with young people who aren't ill (otherwise they wouldn't be at school!), then there really isn't any help I can give you!
  23. I know what it says I posted it along with the link. Frontline essential workers (non-health care workers) does not mean taxi drivers FFS! More info can be found here Still, good idea about the work passes though
  24. Really, I thought the point made was that they are at a lower risk of developing severe symptoms? Nice try though. Now, where's that man made of straw?
  25. Brilliant post! Your answer to how your cunning plan should be implemented is that 'they do it in the US', despite the fact that they don't actually do it in the US! US priorities for vaccinations are : https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm695152e2.htm Pretty similar to our own rollout wouldn't you say? Can't see any mention of mental plans regarding work IDs - I guess the yoghurt knitters working for the local councils just expect everyone to have a work ID and haven't factored in the possibility that the majority of workers in the country don't actually have them!
