I would say that the current rhetoric is pretty obvious. The group with the highest number of 'anti vaxxers' is the 20 - 35 year olds (completely understandable given the minimal effects that the virus has on this group). It therefore stands to reason that a certain amount of 'scaremongering' will happen the closer we get to that age group being due for their jabs. Expect the messages to get more and more 'encouraging' over the coming months....

This seems to be the reason, the figures for the others just don't stack up. Unless some mutant strain comes along between now and then - and so far, they've gone on record to say the vaccine is effective against the current strains - which no-one can reliably predict, then a biblical third wave isn't possible due to herd immunity, which is only going to get stronger from now on as more vaccines are given. My guess is this is part of the 'spin' to encourage people to get jabbed and not worry about the side effects.

And Henry once clapped.

Why have you only complained about the report after it was published? If you knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that the report authors were hand picked and had the conclusion sewn up before they even started, why did you wait until the report was published and not say a word about it before hand? Or are you just virtue signalling?

Lol. You say that as if it somehow proves your misguided claim that teachers are surrounded by hundreds of symptomless, yet infected, children. If a LFT test is positive, the child testing positive and their family . bubble have to self isolate - ergo the kid is NOT in school. In some areas (like North Somerset), a LFT test is not backed up by a PCR test (note, you haven't even got the types of test right), so everyone has to isolate for 10 days! If anything, that policy will keep not only the infected kids but also some falsely positives kids out of school. So, any actual evidence yet that teachers are surrounded by hundreds of symptomless, yet infected, childred?
-
No, no - you have me there. Fancy me suggesting that teachers couldn't possibly be surrounded by hundreds of symptomless but infected children. I feel so dumb and you are clearly far more superior. Imagine making such a suggestion when you know for a fact that kids (in secondary schools at least) HAVE to have at least one, but more commonly TWO covid tests each and every week. Imagine someone being so stupid as to suggest it is very unlikely that teachers will be surrounded by symptomless kids when you are armed with this freely available information. What a complete fuckwit I must be to argue against your suggestion

Does your question still stand or is it now purely rhetorical? Any actual evidence for that or have you just made it up to prove some misguided point?

Another own goal from aintclever! Sunday's vigil proceeded for several hours without any police intervention - there's even a picture of the future queen lighting some candles and shit. The tactics only changed once the protesters started giving speeches, hurling abuse etc. Would have thought detective super cop aintclever would have been more clued up. Apparently not.

Fuckwit. There are plenty of regional variations that don't include taxis. Source = your own link that you only partially read 😉

Despite timmy getting all confused again, the answer is yes, another stunning own goal from aintclever.

Do you really need me to point out why they should vaccinate health care workers (regardless of age)? Do you think it might have something to do with where they work (hospitals, care homes) and the people they are highly likely to come into contact with (ill and elderly people)? If you can't figure out why a 20 year old health care worker was vaccinated given that they are way more likely to come into contact with ill and elderly people before a 20 something teacher, who will come in to contact with young people who aren't ill (otherwise they wouldn't be at school!), then there really isn't any help I can give you!
-
I know what it says I posted it along with the link. Frontline essential workers (non-health care workers) does not mean taxi drivers FFS! More info can be found here Still, good idea about the work passes though
-
Really, I thought the point made was that they are at a lower risk of developing severe symptoms? Nice try though. Now, where's that man made of straw?
-
Brilliant post! Your answer to how your cunning plan should be implemented is that 'they do it in the US', despite the fact that they don't actually do it in the US! US priorities for vaccinations are : https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm695152e2.htm Pretty similar to our own rollout wouldn't you say? Can't see any mention of mental plans regarding work IDs - I guess the yoghurt knitters working for the local councils just expect everyone to have a work ID and haven't factored in the possibility that the majority of workers in the country don't actually have them!
-
Careful, you're in danger of letting the truth spoil one of aintclever's police blaming scenarios.
-
Certainly seems like the most logical progression for English football hooligans who become 'ex' hooligans, to take up a (mainly) online cause to ensure a continued white majority in America. Can't think of anything else they would possibly do.
-
How do you implement that cunning plan? True to form though, out with the insults when you've lost your argument.
-
Exactly. I've tried to get this point across to aintclever, but it's not sinking in. Local surgeries organising the vaccinations only have health and age records, they have no idea who works where! Maybe the best plan is to have some nurses stood at the taxi ranks until all the cab drivers have been jabbed. Then they can move on to the night clubs....
-
It is obvious and didn't need saying - aintclever only brought it up to deflect from his stupidity. At the moment, the majority of public facing roles aren't at work due to lockdown - shop workers, hospitality etc. Those at more risk of becoming ill are being prioritised, you'd think it was so obvious it wouldn't need saying. Apparently not.... The r rate can be 10 or more if everyone who is likely to become seriously ill has protection, aintclever seems fixated on controlling something that has become largely irrelevant since the vaccines were launched.
-
Do you honestly think that a 20 something teacher is more at risk of developing severe symptoms than a 50 year old "housewife"? The argument cuts both ways, but it's pretty obvious you cannot vaccinate all of the population at the same time, so you have to prioritise by risk (of potentially overwhelming the hospitals).
-
And yet, oddly, you seem to be confusing someone's profession with their propensity to be affected by the virus. Haven't you lived like a hermit for the past year anyway? Pretty sure you also got ill at some point, enough to warrant having a test, which should be enough to tell you that even people who spend the majority of their time at home can still catch the virus... The decision was made to vaccinate the population based on age as well as underlying illness / risk. Seems pretty logical to me and certainly seems to be effective, especially given that the local surgeries contacting people for their jab have access to those criteria, but don't have a clue what people do for a living
-
Are they reformed and now law abiding citizens?
-
Not sure you've really understood the principles behind vaccinating the older people, but no shock there! The priorities around vaccination haven't been about making sure people in public facing roles are nice and safe. From the outset the priorities have been around making sure the NHS isn't overwhelmed in order to avoid much worse consequences. I imagine that's why they decided to vaccinate the older people first to protect them, you know, to stop them from getting ill and ending up in hospital because they have far worse symptoms. Maybe they should have just ignored all the older people, especially those in care homes because they don't have to go out to work at all, what with their pensions and all
-
Yep. He's like an open book! Just let them light their candles and shit, eh?

Can't imagine this would get the nod these days : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monkey_(TV_series)
