Surely number 3 - "we must stabilize population" - is completely contrary to number 5 - "We must....guarantee women control over their own reproductive decisions"....

Not really, I think - and I'm paraphrasing from a synopsis as I haven't seen the press conference - she is saying that give her the hot seat and she will cancel Brexit and the world will be filled with rainbows and beauty.... -
To be fair, according to some on here, all brexiteers are right wing racist scum, so to them it's very much a left and right thing.

I'm not sure she released any party policies - except the obvious remain stance - at the time the comment was posted so there wasn't a lot to discuss. -

I understand that sarcasm can sometimes be a bit tricky to recognise in the written word, but when the sentence is almost an exact copy of what has previously been written (I've highlighted the relevant sections if it is still confusing), surely 'parody' is not something that can be missed? -

It may take two to 'make an argument' but there's usually just the one that goes looking for it! Hello pot? -
Don't worry Nick, despite his protestations we all know that really is Jeff having bored everyone else to go home!
-
Why should we be concerned if Scotland leaves the Union

Would Scotland be allowed into the EU - I recall from their referendum that there was a strong sense that they wouldn't meet the joining criteria, but not sure??? -

Hello pot!! Says the man who could start an argument in a locked, padded cell! -
Nice pic Jeff. What happened, did everyone leave as soon as you walked in as they knew you would bore them to tears with reasons to remain?

Those right wing press guys must be bloody good at their jobs, that Telegraph link was from October 2015 - more than 6 months before the referendum even took place! To have their foresight must be amazing! -
Apparently there are now different coloured buckets so that the kids can show which particular learning disability / neurobehavioural condition they have - not sure they'll be entirely obvious in the dark...
-
Halloween tomorrow so will Jeff roll out his 'theatre makeup' and imitate one of his favourite black idols or will he go simple, pull on his pillow case and go as 'Caspar the friendly ghost'? SO many choices but will it be left or right for Jeff?

Please do, hopefully you'll answer the question which asked which MPs WOULD go on to earn ten times their current salary rather than list ex MPs that have. Sajid Javid is so far the only possibility. But good news that there are 'loads' as it means they won't be struggling for pennies in the new year when they don't get re-elected
-
Please do carry on.... £80k basic salary plus expenses for pretty much everything they do is not a bad salary. I expect that there would be many on here who would be delighted to earn that kind of money.
-
Why would a second referendum be a choice of Johnson's deal or remain? We've already voted to leave so surely it would be Johnson's deal or no deal?
-
Name one single MP that would earn 10 times their parliamentary salary in a 'proper job' - and the job they would do to earn it!
-
You seem to be arguing for the sake of arguing - are you soggy in disguise? That was exactly my point, that the spineless, self serving MPs that really have no chance of being re-elected are voting - and abstaining - against a GE in the hope that they can keep their jobs and lucrative expense accounts a little longer. More filibustering from what is turning out to be a pointless house of commons.
-
70 of them did....
-
What a shock! No GE as the useless MPs have voted to save their own skins....
-
Not sure you can class May as having won the election - she needed the DUP to form a coalition government....
-
The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.
Weston Super Saint replied to CB Fry's topic in The Lounge
She certainly had a majority and that's why the GE went ahead. LD's graphic shows exactly why the current GE is unlikely to be granted as there are way too many sh1t politicians who will lose their seats, so no way they are going to vote to be out of a job before they need to be! A no confidence vote seems the most likely outcome... -
The last three and a half years?
-
Not sure you can lay ALL the blame with the Tories. May must take her fair share for sure having called a GE and then lost her majority. Parliament on the other hand must take the lion's share of responsibility! Three and a half years of filibustering has managed to achieve sod all!
-
Not at all, just assuming that the thick people who are too stupid to figure out what is essentially a fairly simple system, won't be around long enough to cause chaos for the rest of us.
