I worked - very briefly, about 6 weeks - for Everest and can give you first hand advice that their windows and doors are quite good. However, I really don't think they are any better than what you can get from a good local firm. The sales guys for Everest are all self employed and work on a commission only basis so will do anything they can to secure the sale from you there and then. My advice - as painful as it is to have double glazing sales people in your house over and over - is to get three local people to come and quote as well as Everest. DO NOT agree to anything on the first visit despite how good the deal may look. Take your time and look at the figures once the sales person has gone. Always insist that they bring samples of the windows they are selling so you can see and compare with the other companies, the quality you will be getting. Do your research in advance about the type of window you want fitted - UPVC versus composite or wood frames etc so you will know roughly what the salesperson is talking about when they try to baffle you with their version of 'science'. Once you have all the quotes then you are in a better position to decide who to go with. Also, decide how you are going to pay for the windows - if it's cash then you have a much better negotiating tool in your bag. If finance, then I would strongly recommend seeing what your bank will loan you and at what rate as I guarantee this will be cheaper than most windows companies. Finally, once you have all the quotes - insist on having a copy of all the measurements they have taken as well - then you can compare online prices. Decide on your budget and how much you are prepared to pay for your windows and stick to it. Don't be fooled by some of the 'gimmicks' on offer unless you absolutely need them....

I used to run the Millhouse in Netley Abbey [it's called Netley Grange now] - no idea who does now as I haven't been there for about four years - but I know they are usually always on the lookout these days, same for the Plough in Bursledon. If you don't mind the big corporate chains, then I'd say give them a whirl... Looks like they are looking for team leaders, front of house and of course kitchen staff : https://www.spiritpubcompanycareers.com/vacancy/673

I heard a feature on this on the radio the other week but wasn't paying a huge amount of attention to it. As far as I remember it has something to do with the higher octane rating in the 'super' category and something to do with this higher ratings ability - or rather inability - to 'self ignite'. Self ignition is bad for a combustion engine so higher octane ratings are used for super performance cars. Basically for anything that isn't used in professional sport you should use the octane rating that is recommended by the manufacturer - this is usually on a sticker on the inside of your petrol flap... Everything else is indeed 'emperor's clothing' and will be a waste of money....

Anybody got a copy of their accounts yet to see how solventist they currently are? The trust accounts were delayed because they apparently had to tie in with the club accounts and we know the trust accounts are now finally completed, ergo the club accounts must also be so. Anyone [Trousers] brave enough to dig out the full accounts as it's been a few days since we had a good laugh at the bestest...

No idea what type of phone you have but would a cable like this solve all your problems?? http://www.amazon.co.uk/CSL-adapter-MicroUSB-definition-transmission/dp/B00QRLRGVM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1424539032&sr=8-3&keywords=htc+to+hdmi+cable -
That was my first thought as well. But then I thought 'are they really carrying out a video interview with a mobile phone on a mini tripod'? Might explain why their video interviews always look so #tinpot!

Was it fancy dress day today? Never seen so many of the bestest, noisiest, most passionate or most local dress up as blue seats. Perhaps another record for their books?
-
I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure the delay in producing the trust's accounts is due to a delay in the club publishing theirs - not sure why they would need to be so intricately linked but I'm sure it was posted on here as the reason for the delay....

Mmmmm, that pitch looks truly amazing! Another three months of the season left to play yet, what will it look like at the end? To think, once upon a time they owned ALL of that land....

913 posts per day - based on three full years of 365 days and exactly 1 million posts. That would be 38 posts per hour - based on 24 hours per day... That's dedicated nutjobbery that not even trousers could compete with!

In a nightclub - which is a far more public place than in your own bedroom with the doors and curtains closed or an hotel room. Pretty sure that the toilets in a nightclub are called 'public' toilets rather than 'private' toilets... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_toilet There is nothing 'private' about performing a sex act in a toilet in a public place. They both deserve what will eventually come to them...

Maybe they can add a 'boo' button underneath it, so the pluckiest can all have a go pushing the booiest button every time they lose.

Nice to see that these press releases are getting far more efficient. Just the three lines / paragraphs to hammer to point home to the deluded few who still read the snooze and believe it!

Perhaps it's the emotional weight of carrying the pompey pals on their backs every game?

Speak for yourself One day I might class myself as one of the bitterest

I can see why we should be such jealous nutjobs! What we have pales in comparison to the world class fan-owned facilities that the skates have

First class nutjobbery right there!

Those things are mere piffle! What about the clock?

On the subject of threats, is there a petition that needs signing to have Jason Puncheon removed as a professional footballer? He did, after all, make drunken death threats to a group of people : http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/crystal-palace-winger-jason-puncheon-4934627 Are drunken death threats a better or worse crime than drunk driving? Should he be hounded out of his job or lauded as a hero and role model? The lines are blurred, so feel free to clarify....

It's very gracious of you to allow him to work! Out of interest, what work would you deem 'acceptable' in his situation? Is it just footballers who shouldn't pursue their chosen career once released from prison or do you apply this blanket rule of having to change profession to everyone who has been convicted of sexual violence and subsequently released?
-
You won't find me 'demanding' Rolf Harris is returned back to the little screen the minute he walks out of prison, in the same way you haven't found me 'demanding' Ched Evans be allowed to play football again. However, if Rolf were to legally leave prison before the Grim Reaper comes knocking on his door, then I certainly wouldn't go signing any petitions to stop him from earning a living! For me, that's the thing about our legal / justice system, once you have served your time then your slate is cleared. I didn't decide how long people should go to prison for an offence that they commit, nor did I decide that criminals only have to serve out half of their sentence and I certainly don't begrudge people the chance to rebuild their lives once they have served their sentence. If you want people's lives to be completely destroyed once they commit a crime, perhaps you might be better off signing a petition to have the death sentence re-instated?

Have you signed one / did you sign one way back in the day, to get Phil Taylor banned from playing darts professionally? If not, why not?

I haven't read this entire thread, so forgive me if this has already been covered, but what exactly is so different about Ched - you seem to be highlighting his 'criminality' as opposed to the moral issues relating to his crime.... Take, for example, Luke McCormick : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_McCormick Got drunk, got behind the wheel of his car, crashed the car killing two children in the process, went to prison. Sentenced to 7 years and four months in October 2008 and was released in June 2012. He technically still has another thirteen months to serve on his sentence, yet he has been playing football and been paid for it, since he left prison! Not only that, he is Club Captain! How is it possible that one footballer is hounded out of his job, whilst another one is not only accepted back into the footballing world but is heralded as a 'figurehead'?? I appreciate that their are degrees of 'criminality' but in one case only one life was affected by the rape, whilst in the other case, two young lives were taken away which presumably also affected the lives of the rest of the family....
