  1. Can we have longlifecherrymilk back?
  2. I hope not!
  3. Have you not seen any of his comments about the fans in the past?
  4. He's probably loading it in the boot of his car as we speak....
  5. It didn't The pub had every single light on twinkling brightly - even the car park ones. How very twee. But seriously, what was the point of the last 150 years of advancement if we're going to go back to lighting our way with candles? I imagine the local councils would happily light our streets again with candles, but I suspect the Elf and Safety would interfere, as it would be far too dangerous to light them!
  6. There's a moral to this tale in there somewhere
  7. Did you break your version of Google - fourth one down... http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=buying+your+old+stairlift&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a
  8. How is that possible?
  9. Nah, they were just fat and no-one else wanted them.
  10. Life deals some pretty sh1tty hands sometimes
  11. Aldi don't employ 'cashiers'. They employ staff! They are expected to do all of the jobs in the store - including putting deliveries on shelves, cleaning [no overnight cleaners for these guys], and all the other jobs that need to be done. You really should go visit one of these stores - there will be one close to any large-ish housing area - and it will open your eyes. Who knows, you may even get to the till eventually
  12. I agree to an extent... BUT, I like the convenience of one stop shopping, with free parking. However, I miss getting quality fresh meat from a local butcher, and on the rare occasion that I find one these days, I've found them to be MUCH more expensive
  13. Aldi are similar to Lidl - they were both set up by German brothers to rival each other - and have very similar working practices - surely you can't have missed the yellow price cards Since I worked as an area manager for Lidl, I can assure you that the guys and gals that work for these companies work very hard! But that is down to the 'model' of these shops which allows them to sell there goods cheaper. If you think that Tesco use and abuse their staff, then you really should experience how these guys operate!!
  14. But it seems you're happy to compare wages between Aldi and Tesco's. Both stores have VERY different working practices, and I guess the higher wage at Aldi is because of the work they have to do.
  15. Do you mean apart from taking Mrs H to work?
  16. They advertise how much they will pay. They confirm how much will be paid at interview / job offer. People will either accept the offer or not. I imagine they pay lower rates for lower skilled staff, can't really blame them for paying staff the 'going' rate can we? At the end of the day, the [labour] Government has set what they deem to be an acceptable minimum rate of pay...
  17. It'll never work. Halfords / various other cycle shops will be made up though
  18. Never works. Does he have a fit brother you could go out with instead?
  19. Why are you still in bed at 10.30 in the morning?
  20. RESULT for them, as it's a lot cheaper than the £5000 fine they could have got from trading standards for the incorrect pricing
  21. Maybe they're hoping that while we may not escape the drop, someone else - above us - might declare administration and then take the ten point hit, thus relegating them and saving us :smt102 That way we avoid the drop without having to play very well....
  22. Jonah, will you hurry up and answer, I'm biting my fingernails off here waiting for the answer
  23. Our food delivery driver is a Leeds fan, so three times a week I get to talk about how sh1t Leeds are
