It's a gambe. They obviously feel that Bazunu is going to have a bigger re-sale value in a few years time. Personally I think this is the wrong strategy, at £20m Henderson would provide the stability and presence we need from a keeper. Basically, he isn't an unknown quantity.

If this is true, we should be all over this. £20m for him is peanuts.

What's Kompany getting the Burnley job got to do with Saints acting in the transfer market?
-
He went for the money on offer. An extra 20 or 30 thousand a week made the difference. I think he knew that a top 6 club was never going to come in for him. All felt a bit rushed at the time and it seemed that Villa were the only club in for him

Luckily bar a few, we haven't been affected that much by these yawn fest matches. No doubt come the start of October we will look like we have already played 40 games already

Agreed. Surely we can find better and fitter

I wonder if it has anything to do with reputation. Notice Arsenal have just spent three million on some 19 year old Brazilian. Not a huge outlay even for us, surely some of the talent would be worth a punt at those prices.

Just noticed that the fixtures are due out this coming Thursday. What's the opinion on what would be a decent start fixture wise for the new season? Preferably, would fancy a home game against Leeds, Brentford or Everton, if away maybe Wolves or Villa. Not keen on meeting any of the promoted sides too early, as they tend to still have that feel good factor. Going to be a strange season with the World Cup break in November/December. Not sure when the best time would be for facing the top six, either after the World Cup or the few weeks leading up to the start. Personally, if we have to have any of the big boys in the opening weeks would rather face Arsenal and Man United rather than Man City or Liverpool.

Would be happy with that

McCluskeys and New York's, legendary places. Schooner's too in Ocean Village. Or if we were feeling really adventurous, Burbanks

Agreed. If we were any good at judging a player when he was on a downward curve, we wouldn't even entertain re-signing Long.
-
To be fair, I think he was talking about Ings. At least I hope he was!
-
Absolutely no chance of that happening

Would divide the fan base

Out of the three you mention, I wouldn't be adverse to selling Salisu.
-
To be fair, how many of our players actually do add something to the team!
-
Him and Bednarek in the same starting line up for that game too!
-
It's not beyond the realms of possibility that he does stay at Burnley. Lets face it, he's not going to dislodge Pickford from starting for England, and the lack of decent English keepers probably means he is a shoe in for the squad wherever he plays next season.
-
For all their billions, they still have cheap pens!

Am struggling to think where either keeper can actually go and be first choice. Newcastle possibly, maybe West Ham if Fabinski starts badly. Leicester I guess if they are ditching Schemical. Doesn't really seem a whole lot of options for either of them. Also you have Johnstone still available on a free.

Guess the wages are a huge stumbling block

If we have to keep two out of the four, would rather we keep Redmond and Ely

Not sure Rice is bang average to be fair
