Think the worse stat is 10 shots on target and only one goal. Although you could say that their keeper earned the win for them
-
I don't think he is genuine top six starter material. Think he would be decent enough cover for a team like Villa or West Ham. I think we because we had the likes of Van Dyk, Lovern and Fonte in recent years we've come to expect the same type of player. I think for where we are as a club at the moment, Beds is just fine as a starter.

Sometimes I don't get the negatively around Bednarek. He's a Polish international and they are no mugs. He's also pretty experienced at Premier league level. He's easily are second best centre half at the moment. Sure he makes the occasional error positionally but for the money we pay, what's currently better out there?

Not for me. Too much like Minamino. Flatters to decieve
-
Would be amazing to be able to get him in permanently. Would hope that conversations have started on that, or at the very least the club know what Chelsea's intentions are. If it is a non starter we can then plan something and look elsewhere for next season.

Not sure about Neves. He is top drawer in my opinion. Same as Tielmans at Leicester.
-
Just watched the goals back again. Didn't realise at the time just what a great goal Broja's was. Being up at the other end from where the move started, I didn't fully appreciate the quick passing between JWP, Salisu and Rom.
-
Exactly. Imagine the absolute vitriol from their fans if Bruce had actually got them relegated. And he is supposed to be one of their own.
-
I wonder what Shearer makes of them signing Wood? Looking forward to hearing him dress this up as exactly the kind of signing Newcastle should be making

Fantastic performance. Really enjoyable game to watch. Such a novelty to be able to enjoy the last ten minutes in relative comfort!
-
Absolutely this. I've always liked Long as both a player and a person. Always a 100% player, which you cannot say about some of the other arse we had to put up with over the last few seasons.
-
Think it's a bit too early to write him off just yet. If we are still talking about this next January, then it might be that he won't make it a Premier League level.
-
I fully expect Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea to get ridiculously easy games until the quarter finals, when they come up against a team like us or Brighton. A home draw against any championship side will do for me.
-
Agree the back three is the way to go for this one. I think Stephens can do a job at right back, but we would get nothing from a attacking perspective from him. Last thing I would want to see is JWP at right back.
-
Valery totally ruined this game for us. He must have known that Oba is no finisher. Should have just let Forster deal with it
-
No wonder Ralph prefers KWP to Perraud
-
I'd rather we stick Stephens at right back to be honesty. Get JWP back in midfield
-
Two of my most favourite players in recent times. Glad they are doing so well. If we brought Lyanco, I fail to see why we just didn't keep Yosh as a back up. Think he would have helped the development of Salisu more.

I can absolutely see Henderson coming here in the summer window, although I think much would depend on De Gea if he stays at United. If he leaves, then possibly Henderson would be number 1 at Old Trafford. If he does become available we should be all over it, chance to really establish himself at a Premier League club, I would hope would maybe see him lower his wage expectations. Trouble is, I would say that he would be a target for a number of other clubs, probably including Newcastle.

Bit of a piss take when they have fielded a second string eleven for all the previous rounds. Sniff of a cup and suddenly Klopp is all over it
-
Ah! Trust the FA to make an exception!
-
They allowed MK Dons
-
Agree with that. I can't stand United but it does seem since Ferguson retired they have been searching for a new identity. Maybe they should have stuck with Moyes a bit longer.
-
Surely only covid cases should be taken into account. Injuries are part and parcel of the game. Premier league squads are big enough to cope. Am sure Newcastle have only had a nominal amount of covid cases, which is what should be the only cause to have matches called off.
-
Think Newcastle's next scheduled league game is against Watford. Should be interesting assuming they don't try and get it called off.
