  1. Fair. Intresting proposal. If done right, it has the potential to massively dent the Portsmouth economy given they have little more to visit there than Gunwharf 😃 You'd imagine it would be fairly catastrophic to West quay and the rest of town though. Would also be a nightmare for cars heading in / out.
  2. Is Lankshire anymore proven (or at least £20m more proven) than Mubama?
  3. We should be going all out to try sign Jordan James. He's as close to Charles as we're likley to find - I honestly cannot think of a more suitable replacement.
  4. Lets be honest, signing Stewart would have been just as much a risk. We got 3 decent months out of him in the 4 years he was here.
  5. Confirmed that's the plan or your opinon?
  6. Not convinced hes any better than McBurnie. I guess they're going for the ipswich approach of building a side good enough to go back up again in 2 years. Have a feeling this will be the year the derby record is beaten (by either them, Cov or both)
  7. It'll be one of Archer, Downs or BBD. No way will we sign anyone to come in as 3rd choice.
  8. No, we need someone who can carry the ball and chip in with some goals.
  9. We just signed George Long. 0 chance this happens.
  10. To be fair, BBD would offer us something different on the left wing. Edozie and Scienza are both the type of player to beat a man and hit the byline, where-as BBD is very much cut in and shoot. If the option is to loan him out and have to cover the majoirty of his salary... or keep him, I'd rather we kept him.
  11. I'd say there is 0 evidence that Jebbison would get us out of the leauge. Looks incredibly average if you ask me, a more physical Downs. If that is the caiber of player we're looking at, it starts to make not offering stewart and extra year incredibly questionable. I'm still a little fearful that Larin might absolutely crash this season as well. It was an obvious signing at 3m or whatever we paid, but i'm not at all confident with him leading the line all season, alone.
  12. I suspect its more that they're willing to offer more than the 1 year we are. To be fair, I get it from his persepctive, he's probably 1 injury away from being done all together. I would imagine when we left the club a couple of months back, he'd have expected to land a better gig than Swansea.

    Tonda Eckert

I think you'd have to be incredibly naive to think he wasn't aware that he was breaking the rules. I do think he knew, but also probably thought it was just one of those things that happen and isn't that serious and would at worst result in a slap on the wrists - which I agree with him on.
  14. No way is that true. Highly doubt Azaz is on anywhere near that either.

    Alex McCarthy

To be fair. Bazunu would be more than fine for a team in L1 who'll more than likley dominate every game. The difference is, McCarthy will almost certainly be there to sit on the bench - not sure Baz would want that. McCarthy was also 'free' Bazunu wouldn't be.
  16. I don't know. As shown last year, Tonda is pretty good at rotating a squad and everyone getting a fair crack of the whip. It'd be a shame for Lankshear to go to Boro (good opportunoty for him I'd say), he looks like the kind of player that we should be targetting. But hes far from proven at this level. 11 goals across 2 seasons (all be it at struggling sides). £10m feels reasonable, but anything north of that, feels like a huge outlay for what would in reality be a risk.
  17. The difference being, we know Archer is shit*. We don't know how Dobbin will fair. He might be really suited to a Tonda team. *I don't actually think he's shit, for whatever reason, its just not worked here for wahtever reason.
  18. I think he offers something very different to Scienza and Azaz. If we're honest, Scienza faded towards the end of the season probably due to the fact he was knackered and sides had worked out just to stick 2 men on him. Azaz we've seen can go missing and blows hot and cold. If we can bring someone in who can cover both positions (and we've seen Tonda was brilliant at rotating last season), whilst offering us something a little different (i.e pace and directness on the counter attack), I think its a decent bit of buinsess tbh. Essentially the same as signing 2 players for 4.5m for a left wing cover and no10 cover.
  19. to be fair, other than maybe Che (different attributes imo), he's better than any of their other options up top. Madness he doesn't get selected / played more.
  20. Yeah I think so as well. Assuming he is a replacement for Charles, whilst obviously Charles is the better player, but I don't think you'd get a much better player who is essentially a back-up to Jander. Brings experience of the leauge (and promotion) and leadership. You'd expect its a relatively cheap deal, feels like an absolute no-brainer.
  21. It probably means that we can keep someone like Scienza or Jander.
  22. Now expired, i believe
  23. Jason Wilcox. Charles signed under Russell Martin first time round in the champ.
  24. No. Venues are paid for from the promotor.
  25. Was an email sent to ST holders last week. It's essentially only on the tickets in the Northam, but for £17 in some cases, hard to argue with that.
