United have us in their next two games so not very likely!
-
Did I imagine it or was there some version of allez allez allez that a small group started singing just before HT? 🤑
-
It's almost as if the away fans location wasn't the reason for our poor atmospheres...
-
Yeah I thought that too, especially pre game. Took me fucking ages to get from the bottom of the footbridge to the other end of the Northam. Poorly thought through.
-
About a standard St Marys atmosphere imo. Started well but trailed off after about ten minutes when most people start looking at their phones instead and/or get bored of the umpteenth rendition of OWTS.
-
Fair enough, I assume you're not local? Can see how it makes a big difference in that case. Not sure I agree with your last paragraph. Every seat has been assigned to a customer number for over a decade hasn't it? So that's long been an option of seeing which customer number is passing on/purchasing a ticket for away fans.
-
Luckily I only have one friend so this isn't a problem for me 🙂 Re the fuck about trying to find time to meet though you could say it'd be a good excuse for some social interaction. Of course theres the added benefit of Saints not knowing how many times a ticket is being passed on (as I'm sure they'll add a limit on that eventually). As far as they're concerned I'll attend 19 home games this season.
-
I'll just give my pal a card if they want my ticket for the day. Laughable that they market it is being easier than ever. What could be easier than passing on a physical item?
-
Anyone driving to this from Soton and interested in a paying passenger?
-
Really looking forward to this. Will be great to see the away fans stood in silence now they've been moved to the corner.
-
Only heard it once and only around 50-100 joined in which is a huge improvement.
-
Has been that way for years really. At least we've got yellows back for this season 😅 Hopefully we'll some new player songs shortly given the amount of turnover there's been in the last couple of years. I find it odd how hard it is to get some chants going these days like 'come on you reds, come on' or 'we all follow Southampton'. Easy ones which everyone knows the words to and helps break the constant owts up. Doesn't help that over 50% of the adults in attendance are on the pervert powder.

Pretty decent yesterday I thought or better than I expected at least. First half was excellent but felt really subdued second half. Solid 6.5/10 I'd say.
-
Wouldn't surprise me mate! Newcastle reached general sale too... Normally around December time I think.
-
Cardiff in the league cup should present a great chance for people who don't normally qualify to get to an away match.
-
That's bollocks that about the accessibility thing and more than a bit naughty. Weird they've only brought that up now. Makes me think more people have requested them than they anticipated. Wonder if they'd go as far as asking for evidence.
-
Oh yeah I forgot about Palace, yeah they'll definitely be lower too. Probably similar to Fulham. You're right that Everton will be extremely popular this season for obvious reason. City is the other one we don't often take a full allocation for. Will be interesting to see if our improved numbers continue when we're adrift at the bottom come November.
-
Just looked and Ipswich have given Liverpool 3k for their first home game and Fulham have given Leicester 2700. So once Bournemouth and Brentford done there'll only be one other match we won't get a 3k allocation for. Assuming the club take them of course.
-
At least we'll be largely back to 3k allocations after these matches after the 2k limit at most places last season. Can only think of Ipswich and possibly Fulham (not sure of their capacity with new stand) who won't have to offer 3k. And Ipswich will have to give us more than last season.
-
I found it very simple to be honest. I rang up and said "I'd like a physical season ticket please" and they said "No problem, what's your supporter number and we'll add you to the list". I agree it should have been offered at point of sale though. If everyone who would have preferred one asked for one they might have been forced to next season.
-
A much more succinct way of putting it than I did!
-
Well yes and no. Perhaps not worded particularly well by me. If people have been using digital tickets for a while and prefer it that way but then system doesn't work then yes then they're entitled to moan. But I'm seeing lots of comments from various places saying things like "why did I have to download this shitty app, it's so awkward" when everybody had a choice to get a card if they wanted one. If you'd have preferred a plastic card and had the option of getting one then don't spend all season moaning about how terrible is for your decision to not take that option.
-
I just hope people aren't going to moan about it all season when they had the option of getting a physical ticket if they wanted one.
-
Yeah I know that's why I said try. It's definitely their intention but touts will always be a step ahead. It's about oversight too. Clubs want to know who's attending each game and how many people are passing on etc
-
The main reason will be that they want oversight of who people are sharing their season tickets with and to try and discourage touting.
