JWP played pretty well I thought and don't agree on Boufal. He's had a frustrating first season in a new league. There's no way we will get rid in the summer.
-
He didn't do much wrong today but he clearly isn't yet ready to be a starter for an upper mid table Premier League team. Not saying he won't be ready but isn't there yet.
-
Agree that Davis didn't have a very good game and at times it was Romeu against basically the entire Spurs midfield. Spurs were good value for the win overall as they could have been well clear at half time. That said, at 2-1 we had a few chances and had Long timed his runs correctly (or the lino kept his flag down) we might have snuck a point. Such a shame we've picked up another injury to another key player but if he's only out for 3-4 weeks then he might only miss one game. With Austin coming back we should be able to manage his absence ok.

We really do have appalling luck with injuries.

Any indication of what might be wrong with Gabbi?
-
Have sent you a message. I'd happily take it.
-
Also looking for one if anyone has a single spare.
-
Not sure how anyone can say someone has suffered similar given we don't even know what it is he's done!
-
Enjoyed him correcting the interviewer by saying Gabbi had scored 6 in 3 rather than 5 in 3.
-
He's a professional sportsman. I was in the stadium so couldn't see it close up but I find it difficult to believe that a Premier League footballer who had already scored two goals in a game was so dead on his feet he couldn't stand in and around the box for 10 minutes more. IMO it was a mistake to bring him off, tired or not. You're entitled to your opinion, I've got mine.
-
I said this at the time. You could almost see the United defenders relax. I get that Gabbi was blowing but I'd have left him on until the end of normal time and then taken stock after the extra time break.
-
The 10-15 minutes after Gabbi equalised were the best I've experienced as a Saints fan. Unforgettable atmosphere.
-
I couldn't have put it better myself, sums up my feelings exactly. I turned to the old man when Romeu hit the post and said that I just knew United would nick it from us.
-
With Gabbi in such red hot form you've got to fancy at least a point here.
-
He looks absolutely magic though. If he managed to score 10+ before the end of the season I could see someone giving us a call about him. Surely even Saints wouldn't cash in after less than 6 months though?!
-
It's been a long time since I've seen a Saints striker convert a chance like he did for the second. Absolutely magical. Please please Saints keep him for as long as possible. Don't even think about cashing in this summer even if Liverpool do come calling. He looks top top quality.
-
Well said, if today was sh*t support then he might want to go and support another club with a set of fans that are worthy of his awesomeness. Top quality from all our fans today IMO, credit to the club and did us proud.
-
He's had one for a while I think. His movement is so slow.
-
Exactly, no one will care that these decisions have gone against little old Southampton. Sky wanted the "Zlatan final" and they managed to get it.
-
Our support was fantastic especially when you compare it to the Mancs. So what if people were taking photos to remember a final? I suppose you thought that wasn't cool or that our support wasn't good because it wasn't all Stone Island wearing youths who had got wasted before hand and were constantly singing about Pompey?
-
I was responding to someone who said he should have come off because he was tired. I agree that he shouldn't have come off!
-
Tiredness aside it's a cup final and you don't take off a striker in as lethal form as him. If he'd have been on he might have turned that late chance in.
-
Shouldn't have taken Gabbi off. Stupid decision. Very proud nonetheless.
