I am working currently with Drax Power who produce 7% of the UK's electricity from coal mostly and are the largest carbon emitters in the UK by some distance. It's interesting to note that even they as a FTSE100 company recognise their operations have an effect on the climate and they are working to reduce those effects. http://www.draxpower.com/corporate_r...climatechange/ Stick that in yer pipe Stanley and George :-)

The Devalued Prime Minister of a Devalued Government

I wouldn't argue with a basic bundled deal anyway, there's so little in it cash wise. Smith should tell her hubby there's plenty of free porn online that he can watch and keep her out of trouble! -

The Devalued Prime Minister of a Devalued Government

The nonsense about adult films is a bit silly. Virgin offers a bit of tit and some soft scenes, whoopee doo. If it was that hardcore Virgin would be under pressure not to sell it. It's embarrassing for Smith but not against the law that her hubby watched a bit of light smut. The real focus should be on the fact that she claimed Virgin TV, though she says it is a "mistake". Under an FOI request it would be interesting to see how many other MPs have claimed for TV subscriptions. I bet there's a fair number. -
Warning to all that travelled via the M6 toll for Blackpool!

Horse and courses for the toll. Definitely worth using in the rush hour. -
Gold would go up 10-fold if it was now used to back world currency 100% though. Better buy some.

Very clean look obviously. Too much money.

I spend full whack on youth but so far it has only paid limited dividends. One good goalie and a couple of decent defenders. Definitely down on my investment. But have a player who looks like he will be good allround when I promote him but leaving it until as late as possible.

All those who went to Tauntons in the 80s will know that Mr Insole led the skiing trips and he insisted on students doing prep work at the sports centre before the big off to Switzerland or wherever. He didn't like me anyway and had a right fit at me when I attempted to use one of those little lifts at the sports centre cos I fell off at the start. He reckoned I'd been boozing at lunch time which was totally wrong (for once)! Our relationship got no better on the trip I'm sad to say. Prejudiced teachers do exist and it spoiled my hol a bit.

I went on a ski trip to Austria when I was at Hampton Park school. I felt sorry for one particular tree that stood on its own at the bottom of a fairly simple starter run of about 200 metres.... It got whacked time and again. I was watching from the top. Some girl called Abigail ploughed straight into it first of all and while she was disentangling herself a massive guy called Chinni hit the tree so hard all the snow fell off it! I was curled up with laughter... Chinni had an excuse. He had size 14 feet and the best the renta-boot place could do was size 12 so he was squashed into them. Problem was he was massive and momentum meant he couldn't steer or snow plough to a stop very easily in size 12 boots. Twas funny. RIP to Natasha though.

I merely said it was interesting! Tbh I can't summon up the effort to present any more charts that 'prove' the opposite to George's contentions anyway.

Mushroom soup is a no-no because mushrooms are the spawn of the devil.

The Age of Stupid looks interesting. http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2009/mar/13/postlethwaite-age-of-stupid-climate-deniers Actor Pete Postlethwaite yesterday denounced climate change deniers as a "negative force" with their "heads in the sand". Ahead of Sunday's premiere of The Age of Stupid, an environmental doomsday docudrama, he compared those who do not accept that human-induced global warming is occurring with Holocaust deniers, and said the evidence for global change is now beyond doubt

I spend the maximum amount on my youth team but still only get about three decent players a season promoted but I think I have it sussed now. Rotation of players is key. I had a reasonable goalie but I improved his defence by playing him there too and he came into my squad with a TSI of 2,000.

I went to Tauntons in the mid-80s with a load of lads who had transferred from St Marys. They were always going on about being beaten by Brother Jack and implied that there were dodgy goings on as well. He was investigated then. It was an Echo story at the time. From conversations I recall, he also was quite sadistic beating pupils with inflexible rulers on the back of their hands...

Here's one especially for St George and Stanley. The top ten climate change deniers. http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/georgemonbiot/2009/mar/06/climate-change-deniers-top-10

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2009/mar/06/spain-wind-power Spain set a new record for wind power generation yesterday as gales blew across the country, with more than 40% of the country's energy needs being covered by wind turbines at one stage. The peak of 11,180mw of electricity supply came mid-morning yesterday, as fierce winds swept across much of north-west Spain, where most of the country's extensive wind farms are situated. That covered 29% of Spain's energy needs at the time. The percentage had been even higher, reaching above 40% for several hours, earlier in the morning when demand for electricity was lower. Spain's Wind Energy Association said at the moment of peak production, the country's turbines were working at 69% of their maximum theoretical potential. Wind energy alone has covered 11.5% of demand so far this year, with production up by a third on last year. The figures came as the World Wildlife Fund praised Spain's rapid move into renewable energies. These provided 31% of total electricity supply in Spain in February, partly thanks to heavy rainfall that increased hydroelectric production. Together with a fall in demand over the past year, that meant a 38% reduction in CO² emissions compared with 2008. WWF praised Spain's efforts to develop renewable energy over the past 12 years. It said it was now on target to produce 30% of annual demand for electricity from renewable sources by next year. "This shows that Spain's commitment to renewable energies is paying off," said Heikki Willstedt of WWF. "This advance has been possible thanks to both the legislative and financial support received." He also said that Spain should be able to cover half its energy needs with renewables by 2020 if it maintains its current enthusiasm.
