  1. Fair play, I saw Jethro Tull at the old Riverside club in Woolston.
  2. Dirty Den ****ged Dot in 1985.
  3. He wasn't on the X-Factor Jilly. Billy - Free Bird.
  4. I received the cane but I imagine school inflicted whackings were outlawed for most on here.... I also helped an English teacher throw a desk on another kid. I don't suppose that counts as I was on the staff side of the incident.
  5. IMO Rudi has never come across as committed. I understand that he has had difficult times but so have the rest. He has shown no backbone or fibre. I might call him McCann for the end product. Bye bye Rudi.

Quality. Maybe a deflection but that doesn't detract from the effect he had on Genoa. Made for Serie A at 33.
  7. Sounds like an extension of Pi
  8. But TDD, it may well pay enough but only if there are higher qualified people such as mechanical & electrical engineers to help design the ships/subs - and also guys who have learned leadership and business skills at good enough level to make it work overall. It can't all be super efficient naval and artillery ratings for the forces to work, let alone else where!
  9. I miss the old general rants about all students from SRS. Things have changed. But how can an individual undertake a useful MBA in tourism for his employer, for example, without having some general undergraduate degree beforehand?

I tend to agree with everything said. Beckham has had a few minor prat moments like most footballers in the limelight but seems to understand the real score with his footballing responsibilities. I can even ignore his penchant for massive tattoos as they don't affect his professional attitude. I guess he must have had a wobbly moment inspired by Posh for Alex Ferguson to give him the flick but may be that helped him.
  11. Lots of disappointments to my parents over the years I guess  An early one was nicking penny sweets like blackjacks from the now demolished Esso petrol station on Highfield Lane. I dropped them into my wellies. My mum found out and drove me back to go and own up to the old feller who ran the garage, who was called Mr Kent. He was ok about it but I never tried that again!
  12. I don't think a major vessel that is first in its class has been delivered on time and without problems since WWII. Just the nature of the beast.

Too busy puffing fags and hanging out in nightspots!
  14. The new Type 45 Destroyers are state of the art though. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7848174.stm Replacing the Type 42s - some of which were built at VT Woolston - HMS Southampton, Manchester & Nottingham. The 42s are too good for scrapping so I guess they'll be offered to Australia, NZ, India, Chile and so on. When I was a sea scout I used to canoe up alongside the Type 42s all the time as they were being fitted out beneath the Itchen Bridge. Good thing I wasn't a terrorist with a limpet mine or two!
  15. I guess you mean Thales who are working with BAE to construct the carriers. Thales are a multi-national defence concern these days with plenty of UK operations. Though I believe the French govt still part owns them. Most of the construction will be BAE (or BVT as now called).
  16. He comes across as uncommitted.
  17. I had issues with a couple of teachers who demoted me to thicko class in physics and biology. I just learnt the stuff on my own and put no effort into class. Entered myself for the O levels, didn't show for the CSEs, and got two Bs. Extra enjoyable going back for certificate evening. The physics teacher refused to acknowledge me or shake my hand. Obviously that was at a time when it was 100% exam based. More difficult now there are coursework elements in most curriculums.
  18. lol.
  19. Not a surprise really. They had quit in reality anyway as where are the ships to be built? All the Type 45s ended up elsewhere and there are no plans for the RN to replace Type 23s or mine vessels. Foreign navies are buying second hand or ordering from cheaper shipyards in the far east.

However, it still didn't take him long to get himself into trouble. Bet Man City bare pretty ****ed off.
  21. Fulthorpe has spouted off to many people about his grand scheme. Which has come to nothing.
  22. Inspires confidence doesn't it!
  23. Load of rubbish again. I'm off to read a book.

    Hattrick

Sure, after we both get booted out of the cup.
  25. I agree with this. The £6m will restore value to the shareprice so it gets Lowe and Wilde out of a hole. As an aside the relationship between Lowe and Wilde must be totally non-existent given Wilde and his executives blew more than £6m on rubbish players and their salaries.
