Perfect excuse for constituency parties to deselect a few unwanted MPs a year before the election though unless they cough up. I mean, how many other people could claim for home items such as expensive TVs and dry rot repairs from their employers! I particularly liked the Tory MP who said that he claimed £300 for swimming pool maintenance so he could see how it was done and so he hasn't claimed again since, stating that represented "value to the taxpayer".
