But why would Cardiff pay money for him now when he's possibly available as a free agent next week? LL would also be able to negotiate a better package as a free agent.

It also doesn't appear to me that the PST has included PKF administrator costs in their proposal under football creditors by the relatively low amount assigned, although I could be wrong as there is no detail. Nevertheless, it's worth highlighting to Portsmouth Council for them to consider. So the following email has been sent to Cllr Gerald Vernon-Jackson and the other three councillors who have the Resources portfolio for the Lib Dems, Cons and Labour. Dear Councillor Vernon-Jackson, Like many others no doubt I have studied the PST loan proposal that the council intends to consider on Thursday. Without discussing the wider proposals put forward by the PST I note there is no reference to the PKF administrator costs which are believed to be in excess of £500,000 currently. This needs to be factored into the PST loan proposal by officers and councillors. Yours sincerely

Points 5.5-5.8 clear up the £11m PPs. It basically says the current owner (now Trevor Birch) has the right to assign the PPs as he wishes prior to an admin exit. Thus TB can assign them to players (clearly something he has said he won't do apart from compromise payments) or his choice of new owner, Chainrai or the PST. So to get the whole mess off his hands, TB will be trying to see what BC will settle for after other assigned payments to football and any other secured creditors etc. Will he make a match and be able to disappear with no "blood on his hands" and a clean CV?

Point 6.4 Pledge target - £1.5m PST pledge funds - £167,000 Looks like they missed that by some distance!

A big problem is that the anti-climate change media such as the Mail, Telegraph and Express immediately print any old non-peer reviewed junk as soon as it is published by voodoo scientists who are usually backed by fossil fuel interests or extreme deniers. That then gets perpetuated. It's an unhelpful circle of media pandering to perceived reader views to sell papers which hardens attitudes without any balanced objectivity involved. -
I'm pretty sure that even after the compromise agreements the player debt taken forward is going to exceed £2m and that is the PST stopping point at the moment, even forgetting the pledge to cash issue and begging bowl to Portsmouth Council.

I live in Manchester so I only know the local choices. The Alfa franchise called Bauer Millett is expensive so never dealt with them or their franchise predecessor called Mangoletsi. However, I know two independent Alfa specialists in the Manchester area who find me new parts at a far cheaper price and with no time problems. I get the servicing and MOT done at the closer one in Sale too. There's also a place close by in Warrington that imports all the Alfa and Fiat parts from Italy and sells them on to the official franchises in Northern England but one of my neighbours works at the place so I'm OK for both price and availability for all things. I see you're in Liverpool pap, so you'd have no bothers either.

I agree with other views on Chaplow. He's useful as a sub from the utility angle and he also buzzes about the pitch effectively which is good for the last 30 minutes sometimes.

I'm about to change my Alfa 156 for an Alfa 159. The reasons are as follows: * No problems with the 156 after 7 year's ownership so happy to stick with the brand. * The 159 offers good value as it is about to be replaced by the Guilia. * The Alfa brand is a bit different to BMW/Audi etc. * The Alfa 159 looks more attractive than an equivalent sized BMW/Audi. I appreciate that people state that Alfas have a reputation for poor electronics although my 156 has been fine. And the Alfa petrol or diesel engine is as good as any other out there. I'm anticipating picking up a low mileage (c.30,000) 5-year old 159 for about £7-8K. There's a nice looking one on Autotrader at the moment. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201230479581836/sort/default/usedcars/body-type/saloon/maximum-age/up_to_5_years_old/price-to/8000/maximum-mileage/up_to_40000_miles/model/159/make/alfa_romeo/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/page/1/radius/60/postcode/m410xq?logcode=p

Birch issued a statement to BBC Sport on Thursday saying he welcomed news of the PST's bid and promised to work with it to "find a solution that will satisfy everyone". "We welcome the Trust's announcement and will carefully study the details of the proposal," said the statement. "Now that we all know more about the Trust's plans, we will work with them and Portpin to see if we can find a solution that will satisfy everyone involved, including the unsecured creditors and the Football League. "As court-appointed officials, it is our duty to explore all of the available options. "In the meantime we will continue to talk to the remaining players to secure the compromise agreements." A ha! TB is now highlighting he is a court appointed official - thus backing away from being too close to Pompey!

Rebekah Brooks charged by the Met. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19105197 Interesting piece below on all the main players. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12296392 Looks to me like they are all trying to claim their own innocence despite the ongoing forensic computer investigations that may implicate pretty much all of them eventually. However, not guilty until proved etc! Interesting times ahead for Mr Cameron.

Is there a link to the PST proposal brochure? I may have missed it. Or is there a PDF available to see?

I guess the staff who got redundancy warnings two weeks ago have to be told what the score is about now legally. Either way, the issues about LL, Kitson, Kanu, TBH etc are pretty irrelevant now. They just about survive for the moment or they go pants up quickly. Not many days, many current debts, no players, no money, no trading facilities. Birch is clearly hanging it out in desperation as much for his own record as anything else. If he can somehow get Chinny to do the deal, PKF can walk away stating that they stopped a liquidation and moved the company on. Only minor blemishes. But it doesn't help Pompey.

This is the poster called Tiger or Drayton. He is a top loon as even the skates know.

This sort of thing gives you a good insight into posters here. There's a few very bitter and sad people. Luckily they are outnumbered by the generous and proud members of our society.

I think it's going to be fantastic tonight and the Games will leave a positive legacy for years. I was the website editor for Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games and this is so much bigger. I distinctly remember working at the Manchester opening ceremony as I had to keep the site up to date and in time with what was going on at the stadium and on TV around the world. Was a bit hairy at points as a couple of things went out of synch at the stadium and I had to improvise a bit!

I guess they want to keep the kids and triallists away from TBH and co.

The same west ham who were heading for bancruptcy 3 months ago. So now they blow half their PL in one go on an overrated failure. Has allerdyce ever brought a player through the ranks?
