Exactamondo. DC has no choice here. False claims are false claims.

No excuses here despite his prevarication. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8712383.stm His argument seems to be that he didn't reveal his dodgy expenses because he wanted to hide his sexuality. Right!!! That's ok then!

Usual right wing knee jerk stuff here. TDD, Prescott is a big supporter of the RN and MN as an ex- And there is no reason why JP shouldn't accept a life Lords seat, given, I think most people would accept, he speaks his mind!

I wonder whether there's a link between international aid and contracts awarded to UK companies...

Power cuts are the way forward unfortunately as there is no proper energy policy in place. We need new generation urgently to offset the old nukes and coal power stations that go offline in a few years. New power should come from mixed sources for both energy security and climate change reasons (I accept not all agree with the latter argument). Mixed sources means new gas power stations and onshore wind to get stuff online quickly and then nuke, offshore wind, other renewables and possibly clean coal (CCS) afterwards as they are going to take longer to develop. This new coalition government is no good for any of this as they have disparate views which will slow planning and construction of new power down considerably. At the moment this coalition has agreed to scrap the recently implemented Infrastructure Planning Commission (IPC) that is meant to be responsible for big new power projects as it says it is undemocratic and unaccountable as a quango. This will mean another postponement of new power generation while they faff about politically. Then, new local powers will further halt nukes, wind etc cos of extra NIMBY power. It's time to get serious about all this!

Have the LDs sold out with the whiff of power in their nostrils?

It seems to me that the Dave-Nick love in is looking good currently and Vince Cable has also done a u-turn on his economic principles overnight. Of the 50 or so LD MPs nearly a third of them have commanded government ministerial posts also. They must be a talented bunch! Is Labour watching with delight in the knowledge that a good proportion of LD grassroot voters are absolutely sick that their leaders have cuddled up so easily to the Tory Party? What do you think Bungle? And any other LD voters views are also welcome too! -
Lots of hastily arranged wallpaper to cover differences. Can't expect anything less. Paxo gave Cable a right grilling on Newsnight earlier though. Cable has switched his position entirely and now is under the spotlight. Cable might find things a bit tougher now that he has a position of responsibility, shifted his position accordingly and suddenly abandoned his much purported economic principles in the process!

Labour doesn't need to change its position at all really. Now that Clegg and co are fully signed up members of the Tory agenda I think there'll be plenty of LDs who will sign up to New New Labour under whichever Miliband!

A horse and cart could prove to be a winner when you're touting for new biz Kippy. As long as it doesn't look too pikey of course.

How can I read all these stats? Can someone tell me as I must be being thick not to find them?

I saw FF again on the news earlier. I simply just don't get how he can defend his members when they are not underpaid and have reasonable terms of employment by most standards and the company is losing money and now customers hand over fist. As many know on this site know, I am not a right winger.

Nutrition information that states per 1/2 can or packet. Who the hell eats half a can of soup, beans etc?

The only issue with thermal is you need the building space and the strength for a gravity fed water tank.

Good new report out that highlights the potential of renewables in terms of power output, carbon savings, economic growth and jobs. http://www.newenergyfocus.com/do/ecco/view_item?listid=1&listcatid=32&listitemid=3943 UK offshore wind, wave and tidal power could generate an amount of electricity equivalent to a billion barrels of oil per year, according to the first comprehensive valuation of the country's offshore energy resource, published today (May 19). ‘The Offshore Valuation' report by the Offshore Valuation Group, an informal collaboration of government and industry organisations, found that in order for the UK to become a net exporter of offshore renewable electricity it would need to exploit just under a third of its total offshore wind, wave and tidal resource by 2050. In doing so it would create 145,000 new jobs, provide the Treasury with £28 billion in tax receipts and reduce carbon emissions relative to 1990 levels by 30%, according to the group, which includes the UK, Scottish and Welsh Governments, The Crown Estate and eight companies across the energy sector.

People who make an unreasonable amount of noise with cutlery, cups and plates. People in my office who talk at me when it's obvious I want to be undisturbed.

I tend to agree.

The term consultant satisfies his vain pompous ego and means that AA can ask him questions as stuff is uncovered. Nothing more.
