  1. If it's gross misconduct then you would suspend the person pending the outcome of your process. Particularly if there's a chance of harm to one of your employees. Whether that's Jones himself or someone else at the club.
  2. The club either have to get rid of him now or give him a run of games. Given his spectacular meltdown over the weekend then keeping him longer seems irresponsible. Unless they believe that burning ping pong tables is the answer to our problems.
  3. Yeah. Every time the ref gets mobbed and nothing happens it gives the green light to more of the same. Football would be a nicer place if refs just carded anyone screaming in their face and that would ripple through the whole culture.
  4. I don't think it's a matter of comparison. It depends on how stable the person receiving it is. Some people would accept football fans are likely to have strong feelings they are going to express directly as part of the job. Others might feel they have to answer any criticism or that disagreement is a personal attack. We hired someone out of their depth who doesn't handle criticism well. I would imagine that the constant repetition of past achievements has been a self defence mechanism on the part of our manager. The club should look at how the manager handles criticism or dissent as part of hiring them. Because you can bet your bottom dollar it's not going to be unicorns and candyfloss the whole time. And you can't be in a leadership position if you're not comfortable with yourself.
  5. If hotsaint is Nathan Jones then maybe we should collectively hope that he's getting the right support right now. He looked like he was at breaking point after the game. If you're not in a good headspace one might argue that spending time reading a fan forum isn't the best use of your time.
  6. That's the kind of blue sky lateral thinking we need in our current league position. Statistically that side is going to create more chances than any club in the top flight.
  7. Cleary we've got a big fella and quick fella up front so the formation is: Bazunu Bree Lyanco Bednarek Salisu ABK Perraud JWP Diallo Sulemana Onuachu
  8. So. Very. Unlikeable.
  9. Didn't you say that Jones had promised to improve players, not banish them?
  10. This. Never trust a man who thinks he is Brad Pitt
  11. Sadly I do. If Jones was Ankersen's choice and they are super footy stats best friends forever then he'll get given a chance to continue.
  12. To be honest, the coppers round my neck of the woods would probably have it on TikTok before you could say "cat got the cream"
  13. "I'm sorry officer, the cat looked a bit sad"
  14. Pretty much against leaves some room. Under what circumstances would you be supportive of wanking off a domestic pet?
  15. And there was me thinking he was making a dog's arse out of managing the club....
  16. This is what we've been reduced to as we await for news from inside Southampton on our not-so-beloved leader 🤣
  17. And to be fair to Blackmore he offered him questions in the interview after the game yesterday which would've allowed Jones to put a positive interpretation onto it. He didn't exactly go after him.
  18. As long as he gets a fresh start and gets a chance to highlight his genius. What more could we ask for as fans?
  19. The only argument you could think of for taking him off was that we don't want him to get injured again. When Lavia got injured under Ralph the pattern of the team fell apart over the next few weeks. I wonder what would've happened if he hadn't been out injured for so long and whether Ralph would still be here. And, yes, he is that important to the way Saints play.
  20. And I know which one I'd rather keep at the club.
  21. There's no upside in responding to the fans. There's no upside in talking down your players in public. It's unprofessional. When you're as unlikeable as Jones then you really need to have results to back it up. He doesn't have results yet still feels the need to argue at every turn. It makes me so uncomfortable.
  22. And wrong as well. When Lavia's playing our midfield ticks. He doesn't give the ball away. Is able to receive in tight spaces and his passing is excellent.
  23. I'm not sure going https://www.isthatcherdeadyet.co.uk/ is the way to help someone who is clearly struggling with their mental health.
  24. I'm pretty sure that if he is still in post for the next game and we win that this is what will happen in the press conference. "Since I decided to do things my way I have a 100% win record in the premiership. That's better than any manager has ever achieved before." If he doesn't win then it just means it's time for another reset next week.
  25. It's great that he's willing to work with players but it seems like our players are getting worse rather than better. And, putting them in the first team seems the wrong way of going about it. In Armstrong's case - a loan might have been just what he needed to rebuild his confidence. Instead he's getting bits of games here and there, not getting into a rhythm and exactly where he was before. That's not preserving his value.
