  1. Get the impression that even the Qataris are saying yes we've loads of cash but c'mon this is Lyanco we're talking about - so loan deal or no deal.
  2. He'd better now fail this medical! 😀
  3. Despite scoring goals before, I didn't know AA would be better in this league and when he plays centre forward, I still think he's pretty shit and makes false runs, has no presence and doesn't have that poachers instinct of being in the right place at the right time. At Sheff Wed, he was non existent and same yesterday, up front in the first half he didn't do a lot. However, once Mara came on and AA dropped back a bit he was a different player. Similarly, at Plymouth Argyle, he was superb playing behind the centre forward. Must admit, if he carries on like this, he'll go on the "must keep" list.
  4. Felt those subs changed the momentum of the game. Previously Selles/Ralph would almost look at the watch and say time for a change. RM saw Alcaraz was having an off day, S-A-A wasn't making an impact so they were hoiked off. New signings were class today. Also really pleased that Baz is growing in stature.
  5. Given he's played under RM before, I get the impression we didn't want him. And ultimately, Che is very replaceable; we're just leaving it a little late to find one. Maybe if he plays today, he is staying after all........
  6. Exactly. The club are showing a lot of faith in Edozie; it paves the way for SAA and I'm still hoping Sully will come good. Fraser is in so Tella could leave. The striker position is interesting. Will Che go if we don't have a replacement? I'm still hoping Che will stay.
  7. Hopefully him being a teammate of Russ will work in our favour. It does also seem we're overloaded with wingers which suggests Tella or Edozie (probably the former) will be on their way soon, especially as there's Ame-Amoyaw waiting in the wings too.
  8. Thanks JBS, that's good to know. My brother said his kid can't come to QPR so instead I'm treating the missus and she insisted I got a new ticket reissued (and paid the difference) and my brother was saying "they don't check". For once I was glad to listen to the missus because she would not have been impressed being nabbed by security!
  9. The other consideration is are we building a team to get us in to the premier league and then make adjustments or are we building a team that can mainly stay together once in the premier league? Agree it's not necessarily that simple, but if the thought process is the former, I'd consider keeping Che. But if we're looking to build a team that can stay together and compete in the premiership, Che's not our man. Maybe Piroe is but I'm convinced there's a striker out there somewhere with all the hold up, guile and poaching qualities required. I just don't want us going in to the next few games with no target man up front. We don't want to be like Leeds who are already playing catch up.
  10. Surely next year when he's out of contract, if we're promoted and can offer him whatever (£60/70/80k) per week, then it's up to another club to offer him substantially more.....and I'm not so sure there is a club that will. The difference is we won't make the £15m if we sell him now which leads on to how much do we value promotion?
  11. Yes, this is a bit of a concern. What are the owners real motives? Che might be worth £15m in the market but how much is he worth to us when we haven't yet got a suitable replacement? Could Tall Paul just stand in the middle and occasionally nod in the crosses? Watching AA on Saturday, dare I say it, he's not our centre forward but coming in from behind he looked a real threat.
  12. Depends what they negotiate when they sign on. A couple of years ago, Shane Long was our highest paid player at £2.9m. If you look at our current top five earners, you might be surprised. I guessed two.
  13. Think I read somewhere at £80k a week, he's now our highest paid player. That's a lot for little camoes. Don't mind one iota if he goes. He adds little to our team.
  14. To be fair to KWP, at the end of last season he was playing like he didn't care (perhaps been around Dele Ali too much), but this season he's got his mojo back. Actually don't think Che would sulk either. Out of the three, Tella needs to take his head out of his arse because he's got that prima donna air about him which he hasn't yet earned. Guess it all depends on who we bring in to replace them.
  15. We've also scored winners in the 87th and 94th minutes and an equaliser in the 97th minute in our three matches. I do like this added time refs are giving this year! It's also showing our positive intent. Makes a big difference. We could easily have been staring at 2 points and not 7.
  16. So after all these non-starters, I guess it's back to: "Pompey get battered"........or "Get your father's gun".......none of which the opposition fans understand. Sheff Wed were singing some crap about Sheff Utd. Who cares? Still think a song that everyone knows like Hi Ho Silver Lining (Villa/Wolves) or Glad all Over (Palace) work well.
  17. Has he downed tools? I always understood Salisu was instrumental in persuading him to come to Saints and now that tosser has left, perhaps Sule is looking to leave to. I was going to suggest we should fish in the S.American sea because Alcaraz seems to have the right attitude...but then Lyanco springs to mind..and Guly....
  18. I vaguely recall, last yea,r you were criticising bringing in such a young and inexperienced keeper as Baz as our No 1 keeper and now you're saying we have to live with him. That is spot on. He wasn't good enough and as a shot stopper, he's still way off the mark, but in many ways, he suits RM's style of play. He is comfortable on the ball, he sees and is accurate with a pass and what was good against Norwich was that he will mix it up and occasionally look for the over the top kick to AA/Tella. And he isn't stuck to his goalline. It's almost like he's a junior Ederson. If only someone could coach him as to why he has a pair of gloves.
  19. And Liverpool are prepared to match Chelsea's offer of £55m. Fuck 'em. We've got that offer. To you it's £60m. And then wouldn't it be good if Lavia 'did a Caceido' and said he didn't want to go there? 😉
  20. Ah good point. And as someone who's totally not ITK, what is this other club that's apparently pitching in for Lavia?
  21. I see Tall Paul is now rumoured to be in a swap deal with another superstar from Genk who's done thousands of assists and scores goals for fun in the Eredivsie!
  22. What? Take Tall Paul off our hands? If only he was a midfielder 😜
  23. Yeah, it wasn't just middle aged, darts loving wallies doing Zombie nation around us - and we got to do it four times! Much prefer it to some reference about "shitting on the bas**rds below", especially if we've seats close to pitch level!
  24. Agree with all this. Charles certainly provided some anchor when he came on and is in the Lavia mould. Downes will also provide some stability in midfield because we can't be overrun like that each week. Up front, I'd still prefer Che (or his replacement) to AA who once again provided very little. But that's two league games on the bounce this season that I've come away feeling good about the Saints and that probably already equals the whole of last year 😀
  25. And we did an even better job of pissing the SR funding up the wall too. My concern is that SR will see these revenues as just balancing out what they've put in.
