We are fans at the end of the day, not professional football scouts. Yet we can still see when obvious flaws are showing and discuss them. Luckily we actually have a manager now that can also see the same problems and more importantly do something about it. Unlike the last couple of appointments. The questions about Martin were fair. And he has answered them with aplomb. Which is also fair.

Have you tried, I dunno, watching a game when he plays? He saunters about thinking he’s too good for the club whilst producing absolutely fuck all. In fairness he was actually tracking back and working hard in the last couple of games before his injury. But in general he looks like he couldn’t care less about playing for us IMO

I get what you’re saying here, but as mentioned by someone previously, the Christmas interview where he talked about caring about everyone from the cleaners up to the first team.. I genuinely don’t think that’s an act. I think he’s a top, top bloke. Won me over as a person from the start and now he’s won me over as a coach too. Lovely stuff.

He died a couple of years ago and it’s still hard going to St Mary’s.…I often look over at his old seat in the Kingsland and expect to see him dishing out the jelly babies to his old mates. And we sold tella!! basically relied on Adam Armstrong to score goals and no one else…which in itself was a gamble after his form the last few years. Luckily and credit to him and Martin he has been fantastic but even that was a gamble. Our transfer policy when it comes to attacking players is atrocious and has been for a while. There are signs of life defensively though with the signings of THB & Downes.

No one can defend the club here and anyone that tries is wearing ridiculous red tinted glasses. It was a mental gamble. Compounded by the fact that one striker signings have been cack for YEARS. If this was a one off bad striking signing, then that’s fine every recruitment team makes the odd mistake. But saints are consistently unable to find goal scorers and it’s a real and fair concern. 100% questions should be asked of the club

I could be crazy but I really don’t think his attitude helps the team at all. His stroppy / sulky mannerisms make us worse. Plus he dribbles down blind alleys and rarely passes. Must be very frustrating to play with. Today we looked much more cohesive. Everyone was working for each other and playing with a purpose that I dont think Sulemana possesses (yet)
