The mad part is this seems to be a radical change in philosophy for the entire club again. I thought they were wedded to possession? Now they’re going back to high press? One of the biggest differences between championship and the PL is physicality. The PL features absolute beasts that can overpower you physically and technically. It was really obvious to most of us that smallbone would be unable to make the step up. I really like him as a guy, but anyone who thinks he should be a PL player is kidding themselves. Yet the club seemingly think him and Arma are PL players.

One game doesn’t change everything, but it’s looking increasingly like this is correct. My opinion of Martin was already rock bottom, but seeing the improvement in fitness and technical ability in so many players… truly makes me angry at how inept he was

A damning indictment of just how bad he is. A stat like that could cost the club automatic promotion. Not to mention he will likely be even worse after such a bad injury. Loan to league one or sell altogether are the only sensible choices

Our manager just said Sulemana was out of shape when he arrived. Seems the detractors about both Sulemana and Martin were correct, actually. Poor management & poor from him. A good performance against swansea’s reserves doesn’t change anything. He has to show it where it matters.
