For everyone saying its only 1.3p a day....Wait until every Tom **** and Harry decides to charge y'all 1.3p a day to visit their websites.....and google start charging y'all 1.3p a search and 1.3p to check the weather and 1.3p to check the news on the BBC's web site......How about 1.3p to send and receive an email?....i mean its only 1.3p innit Y'all are asking for it big time....You're going to be sorry you started hitting in the thin end of the wedge on here...You're probably going to end up getting what you deserve. Good luck

'Real' climate science See?.....everything follows the Suns natual cycles......Look at how temps tie in with solar activity, despite the wack jobs trying thier best to force their carbon related, fantasy 'Junk science' warming theories onto the dim and gulible...It just aint happening.......Recent Carbon levels would be of the top of the page on that graph just like it shows on 'mynameisthehulks's' graph and yet the Earth is cooling nicely, as it should with the current solar cycle Peeps are leaving the idiot club daily now....Don't 'you' let yourself be the last remaining member

Friends, Your attempt to convince people that humans are causing a global warming crisis would be more credible if you were more honest in your depictions. You claim, “The list of speakers and the free-market think tanks co-sponsoring the conference provides a reasonably comprehensive guide to the most active of the remaining global warming skeptics.” This attempt to mislead your readers about the large number of scientists who are skeptical of a human-induced global warming crisis makes one wonder about your commitment to truth and honesty. As an organizer of the conference, I have had so many impeccably credentialed scientists ask to speak that I have had to beat them off with a stick. Of the more than 100 speakers at last year’s conference, we have been able to invite less than half of them back because we have had so many inquiries from scientists who we could not fit on last year’s agenda. Still other highly credentialed scientists are waiting in the wings for 2010 because we haven’t been able to fit them into the 2008 or 2009 program. And even then, we will only be able to invite a minority of them because there are way too many scientists to fit on the agenda. Moreover, these are some of the most brilliant minds in science speaking out against the so-called global warming crisis. Among the speakers at next week’s conference are scientists from Harvard, MIT, NASA, NOAA, etc. etc. If the science is on your side, then you shouldn’t feel the need to deliberately misrepresent the nature of your opposition and their scientific arguments. If you encourage a fair, open, and respectful discussion, the truth will eventually prevail. James M. Taylor Senior Fellow, Environment Policy The Heartland Institute

I was listening to a program on the radio today where a few consultants were discussing future Health Care models the US may adopt..... During the show they referred to some recent research that had been carried out, comparing Health Care systems around the World........The UK's was described as "Basic" at best and "The worst in the industrialized World"...The consultants were even trying to reassure worried listeners who were calling in with very uncomplimentary comments about the NHS, that there was 'NO' way that any model like the UK's could ever be considered for implementation in the US.......Even the show's host was relieved to hear that Kinda highlights the problems with Socialism....Everything and everyone is brought 'down' to the lowest denominator.....Although in practice many socialist's are hypocrites....Everyone's equal until they find its to their advantage to pay for private medical treatment etc....then the principles they hold so dear temporarily go out the window
-
Yup and your right, it did all start in the US....Back when the limp wristed liberal Bill 'Cigar' Clinton passed the 'socialist' law that 'forced' banks to take on Sub prime loans. After all its only fair that 'everyone' should be able to take out a loan, regardless of their ability to pay it back!...And if the Banks refused, they were pursued through the Courts by the likes of Obama's ACORN....All this is just one of the many ugly consequences of the socialism you and others seem to love so much No one sums up the whole sorry mess better than Richard Littlejohn IMO http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1156686/RICHARD-LITTLEJOHN-If-clawing-pensions-lets-start-Gordons.html "Adair Turner told a Commons select committee that Gordon put pressure on regulators not to intervene in the reckless lending spree which caused the banking crisis. The FSA was under strict instructions to operate a 'light touch' regime and not ask too many questions as the get-rich-quick culture spiralled out of control. Turner also admitted that the three-ring regulatory circus designed by Gordon Brown, when he stripped the Bank of England of responsibility for overseeing banking practice, was simply 'not fit for purpose'." "It wouldn't even be fair to say that Brown was asleep at the wheel while it was all going pear-shaped. He was on the bridge and screaming: 'Full Steam Ahead.' Those who warned that we were headed for the rocks were thrown overboard, like whistle-blower Paul Moore, who was sacked from HBOS for warning repeatedly that the bank was taking excessive risks with dodgy derivatives and loans. Brown simply didn't want to know. His only interest was in the billions of pounds in taxes being generated by the bonus culture. The Big Bangers could trade in all the sub-prime nasties they liked just so long as they kept shovelling money into the Treasury, for him to fritter away on his client state. The biggest beneficiary of the boom in the financial markets was Brown himself. Without the tsunami of easy money generated in the City he couldn't have embarked on his decade-long drunken-sailor public spending spree. Along the way, he raided private pension funds like a balaclava-ed blagger with a sawn-off Purdey and sold off Britain's precious gold reserves at the bottom of the market. Even before the banking collapse, millions of pensioners faced penury because of Gordon's greed. The losses at RBS pale into insignificance alongside the £2trillion debt which Brown has saddled us with - £33,000 for every man, woman and child in the country

Aye...I remember those days too well and will be eternally grateful to Maggie for pulling Britain back from the brink. She kicked Nanny's crutches from the weak and feeble and made them walk, and guess what?..the vast majority did....Some even ran....She gave Britain back its self respect along with a restored respect from nations around the world...The "Sick man" was cured...the "British disease" gone (yup, for those to young to know any different, those are genuine references to Britain from around the world back in the 70's) Its just sad to see that she's now a distant memory and her good work has been for so long taken for granted, that so many have drifted back to Nanny's bed pans and crutches. Everything she built and rebuilt has been ripped apart and New Nanny's spending spree has blown away the last the of Thatcher 'wealth'.....Now there's nothing left but a pile of detol, crutches, bed pans and the creep of Brussles and Sharia Law. There may never be another 'Maggie' to come along and pull y'all back from the brink this time.....and I'd say Britain needs a 'Maggie' or a 'Churchill' more than ever right now...

Well let me say this....You mention the fact the climate has been ever changing, which it has and you mention some of consequences we know go with those changes......You also mention the fact that greenhouse gasses are increasing, which they are. However on re reading your post It's not clear if you're relating the two to each other...You don't actually say, but it does seem to be the implication. You seem to imply, especially the way it was started, that 'Man made' global warming skeptics who have been contributing to this thread are denying 'any' climate change is taking place...When in fact we've all pointed out both present and historical 'climate change' ....We just believe that humans play a pretty insignificant role compared with the Sun and Mother Nature and we are no way, going to be able to change what Nature has in store for us...You only have to read the whole thread to see that. If that wasn't your intention I'll happily withdraw my comment and apologize Meanwhile yet more scientists are falling off the Porky Gore bandwagon http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/02/25/jstor_climate_report_translation/ "Japanese scientists have made a dramatic break with the UN and Western-backed hypothesis of climate change in a new report from its Energy Commission. Three of the five researchers disagree with the UN's IPCC view that recent warming is primarily the consequence of man-made industrial emissions of greenhouse gases. Remarkably, the subtle and nuanced language typical in such reports has been set aside. One of the five contributors compares computer climate modelling to ancient astrology." (i LOL'ed at that one) "Others castigate the paucity of the US ground temperature data set used to support the hypothesis,"(the reason can be found in one of the 'factual' links i posted above) "and declare that the unambiguous warming trend from the mid-part of the 20th Century has ceased."

No need.....The dim and gullible will probably see this article as some kind of testament to 'Man made' Global warming.....Meanwhile, the clever people will see it for what it is and will also see how it discredits it's self in spectacular and predictable fashion.... So for those who don't get it, let me explain... First, the lefty Jurno presents some 'facts' about the melting Pyrenees glaciers...Yes the glaciers have been melting for 100 years, most of us know that..... and the clever peeps amongst us would also expect nothing else. The Earth has been in a warming cycle for some time ....More heat = less ice....So no news there. Then he goes on to blend some 'opinion' and carefully chosen quotes with the 'facts' to push his 'Man made' agenda in true lefty fasion But then he really screws himself up by saying this "The World Glacier Monitoring Service last year reported that glaciers around the planet were melting at a rate unseen for 5,000 years." ....Followed by this....."Changes were "without precedent in history".........Urm not even 5000 years ago? lol At that point, any one who believed this article was any kind of factual testament to 'man made' global warming, as a few on here clearly did, should discard it in the bin....Or you could take this article as confirmation that the Earth and the Sun have been melting and forming ice caps and glaciers waay before man ever even heard of Oil and Coal And badgerx16....maybe you should go back and read the thread from the start instead of jumping in backwards with both feet....That way you wont look so stupid......No one here is saying there is 'no' climate change...At least not the 'Man made' skeptics .....You may find some denial amongst some of the alarmist's tho. Many of whom, seem to believe the Earth had a totally 'constant' climate prior to the industrial revolution and we need to remove the 200 parts of carbon in a 'million' to save the world...Hell some one here, a while back even trotted out Michael Mann's infamous hockey stick graph....complete with 'ironed out' Little ice age and Medieval warm period Like the Earth and the Sun will magically stop having any effect on the climate.....What a lovely fluffy bunny world they live in eh Meanwhile Big Al has been forced into yet another humiliating retraction...and some peeps on here are still claiming he changed their lives lol http://sciencepolicy.colorado.edu/prometheus/gore-pulls-cred-data-from-talk-4987.......Gore’s office has said that they will pull the slide, as it does not have a scientific foundation........No surprise there then LOL

Buh bye ....Yet another that came to the table with nothing more than myths and misconseptions takes his leave....Peeps should be starting to see some kind of trend here. In the mean time back to the 'facts'.......An interesting article from a few days back highlighting some of the things I've been saying in this thread http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/christopherbooker/4742293/Climate-change-rhetoric-spirals-out-of-control.html you guys should recognize some of the usual suspects by now And more 'one way' errors from the Alarmists..... http://wattsupwiththat.com/2009/02/18/nsidc-satellite-sea-ice-sensor-has-catastrophic-failure-data-faulty-for-the-last-45-days/ http://wattsupwiththat.com/2009/02/20/sea-ice-sensor-degradation-hits-cryosphere-today/ Not to mention their complete disregard for this http://www.surfacestations.org/ http://www.surfacestations.org/odd_sites.htm Hardly science now is it

Little piggies with their snouts wedged firmly into Gordy's Green trough of mythical Man made Global warming lol.....Boy, the Tax payers are going to love you lot if they ever get to see the real picture Bet you didn't tell those scientists you said this the other week!.... "The graph shows that temperature follows CO2 over time so it is fair to assume temperatures will increase over this century."...Man, even 'they' would have laughed hard at that one lol

The point is, there is next to 'nothing' in that near trillion $$$ package that will help the economy in any way, If there was it would have received at least 'some' Republican support. In fact many Republicans were trying to get a lot of the Pork removed, like Pelosi’s own $30 Million for the Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse ……How the **** can that be considered a “stimulus”? ......The whole thing is nothing more than the socialist's seizing their opportunity for a power grab and to get high on a spending orgy As for the media, you're just being comical now..Fox may well lean to the right, but The New York Times, ABC, CBS,CNN, MSNBC are now just about as left as you can get ....They were so far up Chairman O’s backside during the election campaign it was laughable....'Two' anchor men on MSNBC had to be removed because they had lost 'ALL' objectivity with Chris Matthews getting a "tingle down his leg" whenever he heard Chairman O speak.....No need to take my word for it ...check out the election coverage stats. Chairman O received a way higher percentage of 'favorable' coverage than McCain...And their attempted character assassination of Palin and her family was nothing short of disgraceful, but sadly something that's come to be expected from the hypocrites on the left As for dictators...History shows that many tyrants were swept to power by the "will of the people", most didn't know what they were letting themselves in for.....Chairman O and Pelosi's ambitions are shaping up to be no different......For their breed of socialism to work, they're either going to have to use strict old Soviet Union style control. Or the UK method of a more gradual building of an ever greater dependency on the Government to look after its citizens, until peeps know no different and are to **** scared to leave Nanny's comfort zone .....I do however, have some faith in the American people to eventually come to their senses and to see just where this current path is going to lead.....Hell, I don’t think any other President has lost so much popularity in his first 4 weeks as this one.......Mind you, Chairman O's eligibility issues have far from gone away...More and more Law suits are hitting the High Court as plaintiffs finally earn the "standing", previously denied.....As we say down here....Laissez les bons temps rouler As for Canada....Well at least it’s a step up From the UK where freedom and liberty is concerned, that’s for sure....I gave some serious thought to moving there myself, but Louisiana is far more my natural habitat.......
-
"Chairman O"?......Because thats exactly how a lot of Americans perceive him.....To a point that an Obama/Pelosi dictatorship has prompted a growing number of States to reafirm the 10th amendment...and their independent sovereignty...just in case http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2187725/posts (scroll down about 15 posts to see the States that have, or are signing up).....Hell, they're already about to make a grab for the media "Mega socialist spending package"?...If the Socialists can try and hide it under the phrase "Stimulus" Then I can call it for exactly what it is, a socialist spending package...And the best part of a trillion$$$ makes it mega in anyones book....Even some in the media are starting to realize http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=1039849853....They better watch their selves tho...Chairman O is talking about reducing the broadcast licenses renewal procedure from the current 7 years down to 2...... and his new FCC apointee wants to deny licenses to some broadcasting corporations and issue them to the likes of ACORN instead.....All before the next election....Who said "control the media and you control the people"?........scary stuff Its pretty much Republican down here, on average 70% R - 30% D..... Except for Orleans Parish part of the City, where it's the opposite ...80% D - 20% R....Some wards in Orleans parish turn in around 95% D ......You can tell the Democrat governed area of the city at a glance....highest crime rate, most litter, highest unemployment, largest welfare bills, worse roads (before katrina) and highest property taxes...You'll also see the most amount of overweight and unemployed Democrats sat during the day on their run down porches watching illegal Hispanics fixing up houses across the street. Can you give me one good reason why 'my' tax money should go to paying their rent or mortgages when they won't do a damned thing to help their selves ?

Thanks, but i got it right the first time... "52 scientists authored the "IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers".....Thats a 'fact'...you can spin it any way you want, I know it hurts, but it won't change the 'facts' Thank you and have a nice day
-
You made it a numbers game when you said..... "I am also open minded but if 99 people are telling me one thing and one person (especially if that person is from a previously unheard of university or David Bellamy) contradicts them then I can normally be pretty sure about the conclusion I have come to. I just turned your statement around and kicked you up the arse with it....You lost...Now you don't want to talk about numbers any more...Fair enough, at least thats out the way....Well almost And BTW If you cant see why anyone with a large stake in the Californian wine industry wouldn't be taking a serious interest in the climate then you really ain't that clever And as for facts....52 scientists authored the "IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers" FACT! Lifted from The US Senate Committee on Environment and Public works minority pagehttp://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Minority.Blogs&ContentRecord_id=595F6F41-802A-23AD-4BC4-B364B623ADA3 In May, UN special climate envoy Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland declared "it's completely immoral, even, to question" the UN's alleged global warming "consensus," according to a May 10, 2007 article. There are frequently claims that the UN IPCC Summary for Policymakers is the voice of hundreds or even thousands of the world's top scientists. But such claims do not hold up to even the lightest scrutiny. According to the Associated Press, during the IPCC Summary for Policymakers meeting in April 2007, only 52 scientists participated. The April 9, 2007 AP article by Seth Borenstein reported: "Diplomats from 115 countries and 52 scientists hashed out the most comprehensive and gloomiest warning yet about the possible effects of global warming, from increased flooding, hunger, drought and diseases to the extinction of species." Many of the so-called "hundreds" of scientists who have been affiliated with the UN as "expert reviewers" are in fact climate skeptics. Skeptics like Virginia State Climatologist Dr. Patrick Michaels, Alabama State Climatologist Dr. John Christy, New Zealand climate researcher Dr. Vincent Gray, former head of the Geological Museum at the University of Oslo, Tom V. Segalstad, and MIT's Dr. Richard Lindzen have served as IPCC "expert reviewers" but were not involved in writing the alarmist Summary for Policymakers. So who's deluded?.......Looks like you fell for one of the many misconceptions put out by the Global warming wack jobs and the alarmist media...... Is this where i'm s'posed to call you a moron?.....You seem to pretty good at that sort of thing so i'll take your guidance Feel free to add any 'facts' to this thread..it appears to be very lacking from the alarmist's side ....Just the usual hot air, spin, withdrawals from the debate (they always do when their errors and misconceptions get corrected) and a little abuse....No surprise there then And yes, i read your link ....Nothing more than the normal sneering contempt from a lefty jurno.....If thats your 'facts' then there aint no hope 'realy' Have a nice day

Try watching standard def on a 52" plasma or on a 120" projection screen and you'll see just how good HDTV is I simply cant watch SD programming anymore and subscribe to Dish Networks HD only package....65 HD channels for $30 a month....lubbly jubbly Thankfully our local channels off the antenna also now transmit it in HD
-
Ah so just a numbers game now then?....Fair enough I Win!..... [Ever heard of the 'Manhattan Declaration'? didnt think so.....How about these guys? "The current list of 31,072 petition signers includes 9,021 PhD; 6,961 MS; 2,240 MD and DVM; and 12,850 BS or equivalent academic degrees. Most of the MD and DVM signers also have underlying degrees in basic science." (up 3000 in 3 months) The above are primarily American and don't include the huge numbers and in some cases near unanimous number of scientists from India, Russia, China, South America and much of Asia......You say you're open minded but i very much doubt you'll even bother to read what they're saying BTW the "IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers." Thats the document that drives the UK and much of Europe's 'Green Policy" was authored by a mare '52' scientists. But with huge media backing gave many peeps, who didn't know better, the impression it had come from some kind of world wide consensus....It didn't....and now you have to 'pay' If you haven't figured out why your government hasn't seen all this as a way to extract more tax from you to help pay for their many **** ups, then you might want to open your eyes a little

Thing is, When St Landrew took his degree, the 'apparent' facts were very different to what they are today....In the last decade, due to a lot more research and monitoring of the early models our knowledge has significantly increased and much of what we thought 5 -15 years ago, has now been disproved and/or found to be in error........ That's why more and more scientists and climatologists are starting to speak out about the Hysteria....Some of the discovered errors have been simply horrendous and has led many 'true' scientist to responded to what the data has told them The Alarmists answer to all that, having made so much fuss and put their reputations on the line, is to stick their head up their backsides and say "the argument is over" ....The more extreme wack jobs and financial stakeholders like Hansen and Gore, have even gone to the extent of altering data and publishing a constant flow of erroneous findings, many of which, I've pointed out on here over the last year or so....All their 'innocent' little mistakes have always been very conveniently one sided...'always' making the picture look worse and often receiving media attention. One big problem with this near 'brainwashing', is the fact the reports containing mistakes and errors, get media exposure but after they're pointed out and corrected, no one gets to hear about it. Hence many peeps are left with a false impression.... Things like the planet is continuing to get warmer when in fact ite been getting cooler for the last decade....Ice caps are still melting when in fact they're pretty much where they should be at this point in the Earths Natural climate cycle....We all heard how the North West passage had opened for the first time last year...Well that was a out right lie...It was navigated back in 1905 and i believe 1845 also....Musta been the horse and cart farts that did it How many peeps here, are aware of the active underwater volcano discovered in the Antarctic last year?....Was it on the BBC? or in the Guardian? or the Geysers among some of Greenlands glaciers....Ask your selves why....The media and Global warming wack jobs will not attribute any melting ice in the area to the geysers and volcano?......No...They're addamant its 'Global warming init....Must be, because their models dont account for them so they cant exist The bottom line is this.......200 parts of carbon in a million, is a speck in the ocean compared with the 'huge' Natural forces from the Earth, the moon and the Solar System that are the real drivers of our climate.... Always have been and always will be -------------------------------------------------------------------- “Many [scientists] are now searching for a way to back out quietly (from promoting warming fears), without having their professional careers ruined,” added atmospheric physicist James A. Peden, formerly of the Space Research and Coordination Center in Pittsburgh. UK scientist David Bellamy, a botanist and environmental campaigner, reversed his view on man-made warming and converted to a skeptic. The *science has, quite simply, gone awry. In fact, it’s not even science any more, it’s anti-science,” "We’ve lost two people in my family because you dickheads won’t cut trees down,”/url]

Why?.....Just because he did some good and i agree he did, doesn't exclude him from being responsible for screwing up in other areas.....Expanding Carters policy to force banks into making Sub prime loans and risking toxic debt was a huge mistake and started us on the road to where we are now I'm a great admirer of Margarate Thatcher but i have to say she made a similar mistake...For different reasons, but the end result was still the same...Giving access to huge amounts of debt to people who had no ability, will or idea of how to manage it....Some peeps grabbed the opportunity with both hands, but many got them selves into a dier financial mess Talking about the future financial burden from the Bush years.....What's your take on Chairman 'O's mega socialist spending package....Now thats a double burden and a half........The 1100 page piggy pork bill that got pushed through in 48 hours, giving no one a chance to read it ...and completely dwarfing anything Bush or Reagan ever did ...and he's only just started....With insufficient Republicans to keep the socialists in check, he and Polosi will be back for more in 6 months....Wait and see "I will not sign any legislation until it has been up for public comment for a week".......Chairman O during his election campaign lol

Mr Justice Burton, a London High Court Judge did as a starter. He even ruled that a list of corrections had to accompany the movie before it could be distributed to schools........I'm guessing most other peeps who have seen it, didn't get to see the corrections....http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/law/corporate_law/article2633838.ece “It is now common ground that it is not simply a science film – although it is clear that it is based substantially on scientific research and opinion – but that it is a political film.” http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23416151-details/Judge+attacks+nine+errors+in+Al+Gore's+'alarmist'+climate+change+film/article.do I also provided a link in one of my post's above to the Science and Public Policy Institute site, who claim there are '35' scientific errors in the movie.... here it is again http://scienceandpublicpolicy.org/images/stories/press_releases/monckton-response-to-gore-errors.pdf They also provide further links to supporting data at the end of their article Al Gore's own scientific adviser, Lonnie Thompson is distancing him self from a 'huge' and very significant error in the movie http://www.climateaudit.org/?p=2598... Gore's 'error', not mine! Even "realclimate.org, who are world leaders in Global warming alarmism admit there are errors in the movie and very significantly, comment on some of Gore's choice of wording...While not actually lieing, definitely giving a false impression.... Here are some of the things these guys had to say about Gore's movie...and bare in mind these guys are pretty near the top of list when it comes to Man mad global warming wack jobs "There are a few scientific errors that are important in the film" "Several of my colleagues complained that a more significant error is Gore's use of the long ice core records of CO2 and temperature" "Gore is careful not to state what the temperature/CO2 scaling is. He is making a qualitative point, which is entirely accurate Theres also Physicist Dr. Will Happer, of Princeton University who used to work for Gore until he was fired for not agreeing with his views ....So much for debate eh?......But there again the AGW alarmist's say "the debate is over", when in fact they're now clinging on by little more than their fingernails. As more and more scientist and experts around the world complete their research and confirm the scam for what it is. Just to give you an idea of how ludicrous the whole thing is ....Hansen says that by increasing the Carbon in the atmosphere by an additional 160 parts per 'million' we will push the Earth into climatic Armageddon...Thats the crux of it......For reference, we know the Earth survived perfectly well in the past with carbon levels far far higher than that....... And for anyone still worried that we'll end up producing a whole lot more anyway...Well don't, the Earth doesn't contain enough fossil fuel to produce much more carbon than that There are many many other commentators on gore's movie and the climate change religion in general...I'm not going to spoon feed you with the info but I'll give you a few pointers....You'll get a far better picture by doing your own research http://www.junkscience.com/ http://icecap.us/ http://www.kusi.com/weather/colemanscorner 300 Australians have just died as a direct result of Government policies driven by the myths of Man Made Global Warming...and there's sure to many more before some common sense is restored.....

Although not the only reason for today's financial crisis, the seeds were sown back in the Carter and Clinton administrations. Where they spiked Capitalism with a touch of socialism....kinda like spiking someones drink with a mixture of coke and heroin... Before Carter and Clinton, Capitilism was working just fine, but they passed socialist legislation that 'forced' banks to hand out sub prime mortgages, loans and credit....Those that didn't were prsued though the courts by organizations such as Chairman 'O's ACORN....The rest is history as they say......Maggie also made a mistake in believing all council house tenants could be fiscally responsible if they were given the chance...sadly she was wrong.... I know of peeps who bought their council houses for crazy discounts...12 - 18k for 60k+ houses...then took out loans on the collateral for extensions and improvements that never happened....instead they blew it on new cars, holidays and general crap....Then found themselves with 90k+ mortgages that they couldn't pay back... Just say 'no' to socialism folks http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=306370789279709 "But it was the Clinton administration, obsessed with multiculturalism, that dictated where mortgage lenders could lend, and originally helped create the market for the high-risk subprime loans now infecting like a retrovirus the balance sheets of many of Wall Street's most revered institutions. Tough new regulations forced lenders into high-risk areas where they had no choice but to lower lending standards to make the loans that sound business practices had previously guarded against making. It was either that or face stiff government penalties. The untold story in this whole national crisis is that President Clinton put on steroids the Community Reinvestment Act*, a well-intended Carter-era law designed to encourage minority homeownership. And in so doing, he helped create the market for the risky subprime loans that he and Democrats now decry as not only greedy but "predatory." http://billporterusa.blogspot.com/2008/10/carter-clinton-subprime-crisis.html "America and many Americans are now paying (literally) a heavy price because Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and many inept congressmen and women injected a mega dose of socialism into what was suppose to be a capitalistic society." 1976 Child.....I hear ya....Had the same frustrations myself, although i did ok during the Maggie eara and pretty much set myself up for life.........I cant recommend moving to the USA enough, would be really worth your while to look at all your options.....especially a 'Red' state.....Some of the blue states are nearly as politically ****ed up as the UK.......This maybe a option to consider http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/15/us/15immig.html?_r=2&ref=us....Dell Days ....You might want to explore those options too....you'll get a whole lot more respect for doing the same job here than you'll ever get in the UK Things are by no means perfect here and can be tough at times......You're definitely held accountable for your actions and have to stand on your own two feet. There's no nanny to tuck you in at night....But you get the freedom to live your dream, nothing's impossible here if you have the will to see it through......Difference between the UK and the US is like visiting the zoo rather than living in it.....No one ever called Americains "a nation of bed wetters"....Although i guess that could change if Chairman 'O' gets to stay in for long enough ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ “Many [scientists] are now searching for a way to back out quietly (from promoting warming fears), without having their professional careers ruined,” added atmospheric physicist James A. I'd say you Man made global warming alarmist's have the blood of around 300 innocent peeps on your hands...hope y'all are happy...I'm sure there'll be many more and a load more heart ache in store, before the western world finally returns to its senses -------------------------------------------------------------------- “Many [scientists] are now searching for a way to back out quietly (from promoting warming fears), without having their professional careers ruined,” added atmospheric physicist James A. Either way...You've been bought and paid for by the Man made global warming alarmists..We all know that now....Windmills, Carbon capture plants...all funded by fraudulent and tainted 'green' money.......Thats how it works doesn't it?...you even said so your self..........That's why you just wheeled out another desperate wack Job 'Chris Field'....Way past time for Mr Field to take his head out of his half baked computer models and look around at what's happening in the real world...The same real world where global temps have been on a 'falling' trend over the last decade, even the ice caps are back to where they were...not a squeak about it from the eco wacko's tho, and furthermore totaly screws with your your ignorant comment "The graph shows that temperature follows CO2 over time so it is fair to assume temperatures will increase over this century.....ya musta got that one off the BBC lol.... -------------------------------------------------------------------- “Many [scientists] are now searching for a way to back out quietly (from promoting warming fears), without having their professional careers ruined,” added atmospheric physicist James A.
