BBC's 50 memorable FA Cup goals - 1 October 2014 - Bobby Stokes - 1 May 1976

I always tell people this if the subject ever comes up. 'Never let the truth get in the way of a good story' I say -
More importantly what happened to the mush who appeared 2 minutes from kick off slap bang in the middle of the Milton brandishing a bunch of celery! Funny bloke. Looked a bit like Bon Scott.. Open leather jacket, bare chested the lot. Legend.

As I get older I find myself only getting stirred sufficiently to blast out OWTSGMI. After the antics of the summer I feel less inclined to chant the names of players, many of whom would jump ship in a heartbeat. I enjoy them while they are here.. but OWTSGMI is practically the only thing I will sing any more. File me under 'boring old c**t' I suppose.

He is a master at under promising in the hope to over deliver. I can't work out if he is a genius or not.

I think I read or heard in an interview that Ralph ran around 10 miles with Franny. More impressive is MLT who ran 20+ miles TWICE with Franny. I shall be running with Matt at the inaugural Southampton Half marathon next spring! I hope the race is a big success for the city as it brings a lot of investment on race weekend with hotels/restaurants being filled up etc.

Yep. We were not allowed to play at all in the first half and I feared the longer the game went on the more chances we would concede to Swansea. They were more physical than I thought they would be and perhaps this was a ploy to get at us. However, the Bony sending off kind of backfired on Monk a little if that was indeed a tactic. We improved after half time and controlled the game far more intelligently without really carving them open, understandably so with the numerical advantage. IMO this was mainly due to Swansea settling for a point which surprised me even more. That said, when you see how many chances we had after we scored and Swansea threw caution to the wind... perhaps Monk had it spot on. He showed us a lot of respect in that second half by trying to manage the game into a goalless draw. When all said and done though we won a game we had no right to win arguably. The ref was a bit inconsistent especially for the home team so I am very happy with the 3 pts from a tough away fixture.

Echo that. Have been totally frustrated of late but sportsnationhd has restored my faith a little in the not-totally-legit world of online footy streaming. It did freeze a couple of times but a quick page refresh and click of the channel for the saints game had me back up and running. Decent quality hooked up to my tv. No fuss. Works as it should. Ah yes sportsdevil that's the app I get lost in on xbmc. The varying quality is defiantly its drawback. I spend ages in that app trying things out. I love the idea of streaming HD quality to take advantage of my fibre cable :-) I can find crappy streams easily enough but getting those HD streams is the challenge for me. I've tried this last couple of weeks using a Linux media box with Gotham 13.2 and I have to say my experience has been frustrating. My previous solution was Bloodzeed via acestream running on my laptop connected via hdmi to my tv. I'm not unfamiliar with p2p streaming. This can sometimes be flakey but on the whole last year I watched all the games I wanted to. However, the xbmc solutions I have used so far have left me disappointed. I've been using p2p-streams which when they work are great. Trouble is they are flakey and constantly buffer or kick me out. I've tried all the settings recommended on the acestream website and I've port forwarded port 8621. My media player has a reserved ip as well so I think I've got it set up fine. The other options I have tried on xbmc are the usual ones such as wizwig and a few others that I've browsed and found but never got working and more importantly can never remember how I found them :-) Frustrating all in all which is why I have purchased a 6 month pass to sportsnationhd. It's a shame really as other facets of the xbmc experiencea be been good. My boy loves Cartoon Network and whilst I can stream the channel with a little fiddling around I have found the two shows he loves in full season form so he can play them anyway. Similarly my wife enjoys a couple of shows which are also available to stream usually from ice films. So impressed with this side of things that I've binned my virgin tv and gone for this plus free view as a cheaper monthly option. I'm happy to hear others thoughts on football on xbmc tho. Otherwise I might go and pick up a chromecast to stream my sportsnationhd from my laptop. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I have very similar photos... or should I say - used to.. well done for putting yours online as an archive for silly buggers like me who have long since lost theirs. -
Fond memories of the Dell here too from the late '80's to mid '90's when I used to go all the time until going to Uni. Have lived up North ever since. I was first taken up the Dell by my grandad and then a family friend (my parents still hate football). My first game was a 1-nil win against Arsenal. I remember being more afraid of the Saints fans around me than anything else. Even then the Dell was no place for a shrinking violet. Quite a few times I had some close shaves with fellow supporters, on one occasion literally for breathing wrong - seriously. As I got into it more into my late teens I found my identity and a place at the back of the Milton with the muppets. A few of us from Applemore school in the New Forest used to go over on the bus and make a day of it. Happy days. All a bit too sterile and expensive nowadays. I have to pick carefully which games I can afford to go to but at least I feel safe taking my son. I'm still a bit of a shrinking violet it seems :-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

No need to install anything. Its just a web page like any other showing flash video so all you need is a web browser and an internet connection. Like you I noticed the schedule for the next round of Premier league games is absent but I'm pretty sure the links will be there by the weekend. It seems like a well run site judging from my first experiences last night. The guy who runs the site was in the live chat answering questions.. pretty good customer service.

Yeah they switched over during the first half. Good viewing from then on. Shame as I recently got a Linux media streamer to free me from the laptop to TV via hdmi setup. However I've found the solutions thus far on xbmc frustrating to say the least. I'll stick with sportsnationhd for now. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

haha my bad had a nightmare here... they turned the HD on after some technical difficulties. Now have a nice clear HD picture.
-
Ahh apologies I may of discovered the clarification I was looking for myself. It seems they show WWE, MMA, boxing PPV and other such events in HD. The football seems exempt from this according to the clever wording on their FAQ forum post.

Hmmm. Signed up for sportsnationHD.com Elite and have to say I'm a little disappointed with the picture quality. Am I missing something??? I was led to believe from people on this thread that sportsnationHD is actually HD feeds? Apologies in advance if I've totally misunderstood things. I have to say the stream is excellent in terms of smoothness but the fullscreen quality on my PC monitor leaves a lot to be desired. Shame if so.

Sloppy here

My thought entirely. Seem to be happy to contain. Dangerous game as it may encourage them.
