Ergo what the club did during the 1960s, 70s, 80s, lost its way in the 90s but did again early-mid 00s until Lowe’s brainfarts. Then again 09-17.

More like the Lonely Planet guide with all of his whacky conspiracy theories, because the rest of it is out to get him.

Agree with this post to a large extent. Still has made some obvious decisions in spite of SR eg dropping Bazunu and Stephens, two of their favourite sons. But it needs some more experienced who will go further and give the likes of Sesay a chance, bring Robinson back in and build around the few senior players who do give a shit. Put the two u23 forwards in ahead of Archer. Aribo needs to be brought back in and Edozie must be a better option than Fraser. A manager who will toss the SR boardroom politics in the bin publically would buy a lot more time with the fanbase and actually even though SR would hate it, it’s what they need as well. Decisions made 100% on who is training best and applying themselves fully week, not future value, re-sell or a reluctance to write off investments with contracts winding down. If Bazunu and Smallbone are out of contract, so what? A new keeper in January and centre forward, and we should at least stay up. But will take a seasoned figure to cut through SR’s nonsense and outplay them in the Uk media.

I don’t get it either - if I was him, I’d go down using the style which worked for me in France and Belgium. Whoever succeeds is going to have to restore some organisation in the playing squad, build resilience, manage upwards eg new DoF and Dragan, tell Rasmus to stick to his spreadsheets and bomb him out of any involvement with Saints, find a new keeper and 9 in January and rebuild some form of connection with the fanbase. And put multiple players in the bomb squad to go as the squad is far too big, yet again. Not much then 😅

He was awful with Sweden though - decent job at Blackburn but wouldn’t be a first choice.
-
Their club is another player trading mess but at least there is a semblance of a playing spine and the manager - for this month at least - has managed at this level before. Their goalkeepers aren’t a total write off and they do sign the odd effective striker. So some improvement on Saints albeit not huge.
-
I think it’s win or bust for Still - bust it is. He’s wedded himself Juric-like to 5 at the back and with the midfield being depleted with Charles injury that spells major trouble. The only thing I can say in his favour is that he stuck two fingers up at Rasmus and rightly dropped the hapless Bazunu. McCarthy isn’t great and making mistakes but he’s still like Gordon Banks by comparison.
-
Now Charles is crocked you’d think some common sense has to kick in and Aribo be re-integrated. The squad was already light in CM and with Flynn Downes continuing to be gastro-germ central even SR surely aren’t going to carry on punching their own face. Edozie should be in front of Fraser as well.

Blackburn 2-1 Saints - Match Threads
Gloucester Saint replied to Willo of Whiteley's topic in The Saints
Buying players as single transactions for profit rather than because they have leadership characteristics and don’t need constant instruction and coaching, incapable of independent thought and adaption on the pitch tends to contribute. Add that into the chaos before and after crossing the white line and a rather toxic mix. -
Good episode. The whole set up sounds incredibly chaotic and unprofessional, can’t remember who the poster is who slags off Parsons but he’ll have enjoyed those references. Total mess from top to bottom, earlier in my career I worked in some chaotic places before I reached leadership levels and had the power to sort them out and turn them around but SFC would be a stern challenge for anyone. Pretty clear Still’s brain is scrambled from the decisions topped off by subbing Scienza for Stephens and putting Jack who hadn’t played for 6 weeks in central midfield. Bragg without a shirt number, as Glen said total tinpot. If we can’t rid ourselves of SR, and the fanbase has to give that a concerted go now, then it has to be new CEO, DoF, First Team manager and coaching line up from the UK and 100% independence from the SR board bar budget setting each summer.

Does this club deserve your support and money?

You’ll get to see Mad Nate celebrate his revenge on the other hand. -
I knew brighter people in the fourth stream at secondary school. Farage and Tommy know their market.

It’s how it’s said, I don’t necessarily agree with Streeting’s original observation but there’s a gulf of difference between saying ‘it’d be good to see more representation’ and ‘I’m sick to death of seeing brown and black faces, there’s no white families’. It’s not that Streeting’s a good guy, I could pick many holes in that statement, but simply a lot more articulate than Pochin which is a core competence at this level. She’s not 30P Lee from the mines though, she’s studied at a good university and been a JP. She knew what she was saying and has plenty of prior for being a racist. Mind you, she got reprimanded for dragging politics into that as well (having family members who are JPs, that is no no) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Pochin

Glad it wasn’t just me! Assuming it’s some kind of social media influenced connected with the club that the organisers dislike. Great to see it overall though. Hope it comes off and gets reported. Wolves fans having a decent go today. -
Sarah Pochin still going and having a pop at Anas Sarwar now https://www.thenational.scot/news/25572754.racist-reform-uk-mp-attacks-anas-sarwar-white-speech/

Agreed on the above, but still no excuse for people to vote for this rabble of conspiracy theories, unfounded attack on the RNLI and all round dreadful behaviour https://northeastbylines.co.uk/news/politics/chaos-engulfs-reform-uk-in-northumberland/ Same for every council they control includes the astonishing proceedings video in Kent https://theconversation.com/kent-county-council-is-reforms-shop-window-its-leaked-zoom-call-implies-chaos-and-poor-leadership-267900 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cz7pe443lp5o

I picked it up from the match day thread I think it was, a couple of people posted it who had listened to Going Home with Adam & Jo. Like you I’m out of Solent area. Closest I could pick it up when I lived in Devon was on the hills above Lyme Regis.

Some naked ambition from Reform in Northants https://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/news/politics/council/deputy-leader-of-reform-led-west-northants-council-reportedly-logged-into-online-meeting-while-preparing-a-bath-with-fellow-councillor-getting-more-than-an-eyeful-in-the-process-5340545 Indeed, things seen which cannot be unseen…

They’d have to know what those were first.

Disturbing that this is seen as OK for a political party to say https://www.independent.co.uk/tv/news/sarah-pochin-reform-gb-news-advertising-black-asian-video-b2852382.html If Griffin had said that on QT it would have been a national scandal. But as it’s Reform, only the Indy, Mirror and Guardian will report, possibly Sky News. BBC and the other red tops will put their fingers in their ears. Was a JP for 20 years as well.
-
Clip here https://www.independent.co.uk/tv/news/sarah-pochin-reform-gb-news-advertising-black-asian-video-b2852382.html No different to something Griffin or Tyndall would have said. Pure racism. But Reform are actually making small gains amongst British Indians for example. If a party leader expressed hate for white middle aged from the Cotswolds I sure as hell would NOT be considering voting for them. Sarah Pochin is going to be a liability for them though in the medium-term.

And has the backing of the Coates family Bet 365 empire.

Has to be - one common variable.

Which is another damning verdict on SR - no way an experienced manager like Cooper would have tolerated that interference. Let alone the likes of Warnock 10-15 years ago. First team managers are meant to be first team managers. Added to the cryptic comments on Solent post-match (didn’t hear it but others did) about Spors complaining of regular interference in his role and obvious who it is despite having ‘stepped back’.
