  1. You’ve pre-emptied what they really want to do but scared of the backlash post-ICE debacle. They are a plastic Trump tribute act so it’s a logical step.
  2. They’re two ends of the same populist wedge. Both also been caught using anti-Semitic messaging during this local elections campaign. Reform-led councils have been a disaster so far plagued by infighting/bans for racism and I can’t envisage Green-led councils being much better, if at all, quite frankly.
  3. It’s Corbyn’s lot who have dropped away from the Labour hard left Polanski is trying to appeal to and which Reform are trying to attack as they’re both trying to gain ground next week as insurgent parties. Labour, Tory and coalition record shows a clear scepticism of asylum seekers (as opposed to economic migration). Straw’s Home Office arguably set the tone for Teresa May’s.
  4. Egg is probably nearer to the reality, if such centres existed they’d go to areas with the infrastructure to handle it rather than say rural Herefordshire where the Greens have been gaining ground.
  5. Personally, I don’t think it would be but it’s a political weapon the two populist parties are using against each other. Fundamentally, Reform’s policies are unworkable and it would be like the hotels on steroids with Farage and Lowe’s loony football casual element attracted to them like wasps around a jam jar in August. British people won’t stand for an ICE type border force either, the current one needs to be resourced properly instead.
  6. The Greens are left wing populists. Corbynites are not establishment political people any more than Reform are. Anyway, Yusuf had it right when he said getting a Reform government elected will be a waste of his time. Easy bruise to punch repeatedly nearer the GE with loads of posters of his words. Neighnouring Worcs aren’t enjoying their 9% council tax rise either.
  7. The whole idea is borrowed from MAGA anyway and look how that’s gone with ICE losing their shit and murdering their own citizens. But they aren’t going to get a majority, not even close, and no-one else will collaborate with them now so it won’t be a problem. Believe it or not, plenty of people who vote for the other three parties are fine with economic migrants who significantly improve our private sector and economy and wary of asylum cases being too high. Greens under Polanski are tossers but punishing areas where 30% or lower gets a Green council is dickhead politics.
  8. Given they’d already appointed Nathan Jones, Ruben Selles, and Will Still, all within 3 years, the scepticism was quite reasonable.
  9. Arguably best away for many a season.
  10. Which causes mayhem for the majority who don’t vote Green. If we’re going to race to the bottom and not govern as a single country, let’s bar Reform areas from any central government regeneration funding based on the severe economic damage they’ve done to this country. Which would be stupid, as is Reform’s proposal here. Pure idiot Trumpism. Policies to spite others, not to help the country. I can’t stand Polanski either but both parties sum up what a bag of wank populism is.
  11. We were cynical about SR in general at the time but once Tonda ditched 5 ATB it was lift off.
  12. And some of the nationals are little better. Check out the Bovis collective suit from 2017 which cost them £7m payout for piss poor workmanship and more recently Persimmon. UK trades need the competition of EU builders again to give them the huge kick up the arse needed. https://www.facebook.com/groups/DoNotBuyPersimmon/posts/24071664332490945/ We had a new build by Cavanna in Devon which was OK as it was well before Brexit when the country dropped its trousers in being able to do anything. Cotswold Homes couldn’t get a new house built for us up here (but did refund our deposit) hence we bought a doer-upper. Despite having to renovate everything, in terms of build quality and core structure, it kicks the arse off pretty much all new houses.
  13. Successive innings defeats at home - Brown calls it a very poor performance and very poor week. Need to get an overseas batsman in for the Essex game. Yusuf has contributed nothing and the Southern Premier quality top order struggled without Jake Lehmann to bail them out again. Brown tried to save it second innings but couldn’t get consistent partners bar Currie and briefly Yusuf. Bowling is pathetic as well. Brown saying Glamorgan should never have been declaring. Glamorgan’s 4th ever D1 win to take back across the Severn Bridge. Hants need an emergency board meeting with the coach and then the first team squad. You don’t suddenly pick up in your white ball fixtures when the morale and work ethic is on the floor. If they’re not playing for Domingo or Brown then change is neccessary prior to the Essex game.
  14. Polanski is an idiot, but Yusuf and Reform are even bigger idiots. God forbid, I actually agreed with Chris Philip on something https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c362e9p385yo Cost of the Centres would also be £12bn - showing their continued ignorance of economics. And people criticised the last two governments on economic policy, but don’t have to leg to stand on if they think Reform are anywhere near having a clue.
  15. I just read that. Obviously a piece by Everton and England u21 to be a booster but when the manager is saying his training and approach needs to be better, that’s a red flag. Possible he settles better in the NW next year. Shows you how low the standards were bar Fernandes and Ramsdale last season,
  16. That’s what happens when you stay on the track we were 2012-16 and don’t start playing ‘clever’ manager appointments or going for left field signings like Les Reed did instead of quality on the way to the very biggest clubs. Good luck to them, they’ll have a bad window at some point with expensive mistakes they can’t fix but let them enjoy it while they can.
  17. I’m not disagreeing on accuracy but then Glamorgan’s little medium pacers plus Mason Crane who will be fired up are bowling to batsman who don’t value their wicket whatsoever. Swipe across the line, lbw or caught mid-wicket, have a chuckle. Their batsmen knew it was a good pitch and got in behind, defended well and then counter-attacked when our quicks tired, I’m not suggesting Yusuf isn’t trying but he’s had zero impact but right now we need a high quality batter of Tilak quality plus Lehmann back so we give our bowlers some hope. Pack a couple of the batters off on loan to D2/minor counties until the contracts expire, start clearing decks. Organ and Weatherley for starters.

    Israel

Used to be true and may be again once Netanyahu and Ben Givr are removed but until they are, this type of incident is common place https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cz67qjn48eqo
  19. One thing I’d definitely do if I was Rod is send Yusuf to Heathrow and on a plane back to SA. Can’t believe he’s played Tests and ODIs recently for the world’s best Test team. Been utter garbage. I didn’t think it was possible to be worse than the dreaded Brett Hampton but Cody’s managed it. Get an international batsman in, especially if Lehman doesn’t return. Tilak had huge impact last year. Someone that gives the dressing room a lift/rocket and lifts standards would be even better.

Or he doesn’t feel the need to take an obvious side.
  21. If they’ve got genuine international ambitions they might, although Emilio Gay disproving that theory slightly with his form for Durham. Got more to do with how pathetic England were in the winter though and the fact several vacancies have opened up in the previously closed shop. Ben Mayes might give Hampshire a season to invest seriously in the first team squad and see if we are going to try and compete again if he’s looking at England all formats, Dawson maybe skipper because Ben Brown is appalling. Lumsden is a serious prospect but will need careful management of workload. Probably a 4 over shock bowler in D2 next year.
  22. 70mph and not moving the ball much, but decent lines and straight. Ball has hardly beaten the bat but Glamorgan were disciplined and Hampshire don’t have any ideas or plans. Carlson predicted it would be very difficult to get wickets today but he’s in a promoted side who want to play for their county, our senior players don’t bar Dawse and Kyle. Mayes clearly has talent but being set a terrible example by indiscipline and lack of work ethic of the mid-senior career players. New owners will shake things up majorly at the club over the winter I’d expect.

I yawn at Soggy’s meme posts but I agree with Egg that Mad Ben and Ben Givr are no better than Hamas, Hezbollah or the IRGC. All as bad as each other. Israel is not a friend of the UK’s, nor is Iran, nor is Trump, nor is Putin. Let’s get real.
  24. I’ll post what I like John as long as it is not litigious. 154-8 against that attack on that pitch is beyond pathetic. Cricket doesn’t have transfer windows so the coach is one of the few things you can change. It’s like when Will Still when Saints had him as manager, the players have no plan, no confidence and no leadership. It’s not a vintage Hampshire side but Gubbins is better than he’s showing, Prest is getting no direction to value his wicket, Currie has been in England white ball squads recently. It’s not as bad as this or the Essex no-show. Even in the late 90s when we had no money it was better than this. Deposing Brown as skipper would be an idea as well.
  25. 132-5. Domingo is fighting for his job here. Squad is D2 but they’re not playing for the coach at all.
