  1. Nobody is asking you to do that, and forums are about opinions. But telling people to STFU, especially fellow Sotonians wherever we reside, is not helpful. The fanbase needs to get behind these new lads and manager. We’ve got ‘them’ arriving at SMS in the short term for a start. And if one thing unites us…
  2. Scienza as well. Still was keen on two wingers and you need four for the games we have with Robinson and Fraser. Early days with Downs and Archer might be better suited as a sole central striker with Azaz and Fellows linking with him and a progressive midfield playing him in far earlier. Stewart has looked tidy when fit this year so far, AA is the dilemma. 💯 has the pedigree at this level but not a winger and not a central striker. Tricky one for Still but good issue to have. Unless AA off but I think BBD will be. And needs to be for his sake, confidence in the gutter.
  3. Nice video too. Hope Still does trample on Pompey like that next month.
  4. Glad it wasn’t just me. I love wingers and #10s but this is a type of player we’ve been lacking for quite a while. Our midfield has been unbalanced over the last couple of years.
  5. Ironically every time I see your username pop up it always looks like saintwba at first glance 😀 Interesting on the Instagram
  6. This is very important, the risk with too many loans is that they’ve on the fringes at their parent clubs even if it’s a higher level and by the time they get fully match fit it is October and you are 10 points off the automatic places. That and hopefully, IF we were promoted again this season or next that they have the ability to adapt in the PL. On paper, much better quality than what we recruited last summer and the high turnover is welcome after the train wreck of 2024/25. But we will find out on grass over the next 12-24 months.
  7. I’m suspecting more Lallana 2014 than Dibling 2025.
  8. Still savings there to be made but there’s been a lot of change in the five years since the start of what was the pandemic so they should be doing a fresh review robustly/objectively.
  9. Learning point for our fanbase how they’ve dealt with him up there and also Pellegrino was equally out of his depth with us and Les Reed got away scot-free (no pun intended). Their board is doing the supportive bit but if an also-under pressure Celtic and Rodgers pump them 5-0 in their own backyard he isn’t surviving that. Got a funny feeling Rangers will get a result though!
  10. If you want friends, telling the majority of people who have also spent thousands and more watching Saints to STFU probably isn’t the right way to go about it for a start. And as @S-Clarke rightly says, all of the PL quality is gone, I enjoyed reading about of all the incomings last night and excited to see them in action. But you’ve got no legitimacy whatsoever to post in this ‘told you so’ way until the club is re-established in the top flight, let alone promoted, and we’ve had a few transfer windows with more hits than misses. We’ve been in the top flight for all but 12 seasons since 1966 so yesterday was a step in the right direction but it’s a small step. And this division can bite you on the arse. Not to mention that we are just off of a season with only 12 points with the worst manager the PL has ever seen (now the SPL - not for much longer though). When SR get us back to where they found us and a bit more, happy for the victory bus to come out. Willing to be patient but the goalkeeping area is still a risk in the view of 90%+ of supporters and there is ample statistical data to back that up. Now hopefully the incoming attacking talent means that pressure comes off the defence more and the new midfield screens them and the keepers better.
  11. Didn’t want to see the club spunk all of that money up the wall on him anyway.
  12. Archer is by far the best finisher at the club, need to find a way of unlocking that as happened at Carrow. Stewart could be an asset if he ever stays fit. Downs - hopefully improves with quicker more direct players around him. Assuming BBD going outbound on loan? Heard the Blades named earlier, Blackburn also interested but Sheff Utd better able to afford his wages in full.
  13. Blimey, just got in from work, bit of a lively day on transfer front then…
  14. Yet another school shooting. Well said Matt Frey - don’t say the usual GOP thoughts and prayers, these kids were praying when they were shot https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy40znde9eko Not much known yet about the gunman who was only 23 himself
  15. And no credibility to be on TV either. Maybe a Head of an Academy somewhere if he drops his toxic brand of ‘football’
  16. But also delighted Rangers got Dragan off the hook paying any more of his wages. Saints/SR board must have been smoking crack allowing him to carry on until getting towards Christmas in the PL.
  17. FACO - Farage Always Chickens Out https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ce83x1457lyo
  18. Joe’s super-duper agent not got him that promised move to Galatasaray or Saudi then?
  19. Here’s an impact of Brexit and obsessing over immigration and numbers rather than targeting volumes of asylum seeking and prioritising who we welcome - Cancer Research UK having to spend £700k last year on visa costs which costs the equivalent of 17 Cancer PhD students, and confirmed today that’s risen to £900k.
  20. Earlier in his career and a lower level, but the Cheltenham fans around here love him for his loan spell which crucial to them winning League 2.
  21. Taylor’s done well, along with Tinker, Soldier and Spy
  22. Imagine him trying to pronounce Jasurun Rak-Sakyi if we signed him. Be as good as when Tony Pulis pronounced Adam Lallana.
  23. Darling! That’s the third time you’ve played them onside now!
  24. I thought he was meant to be crook?
  25. It deserved much Acclaim but others would say it was a load of old Dolomite.
