We’ve been generating money from selling on players since before I was born, right back to Chivers and probably before that. But the emphasis was mainly on using that profit to re-invest back into the club including the playing squad. Yes, and one that can catch, stop, kick at a very basic level. Cheltenham released a much better keeper than George Long in the summer who is now at Newport. Evans would have been much cheaper than Long as well as better Long cannot do any of the basics above, so what is the point?

Better to use young Moody or an emergency loan like we did with Keller. George Long was even declined as an option at Cheltenham Town, and they sadly are currently 92nd in the league.

Have you seen him play Charlie? Listen to the people who have and you’ll learn something. Would you be happy signing Sholing’s third keeper or Tommy Forecast quality as #3? Because that’s what Spors seems to be doing.

Spors is fucking useless if true. I know several Norwich fans who have seen George Long ‘play’ and not good enough for King’s Lynn, not even Great Yarmouth. We are talking even worse than Tommy Forecast and a lot worse than Joe Lumley. Waste of anything he is paid.

Pity SR didn’t invest in adults - but carried on looking for the next Livramento. They found him in Lavia but all of their other signings that summer have been effectively write-offs at PL level and Romeu leaving ripped the spine of the team apart. Only themselves to blame.

Can’t see Brownhill going south to us or east to Ipswich either. Sheff Utd linked but a basket case and Wrexham apparently bulked at the signing on fee and seem to have switched focus to Will Smallbone instead with Saints ‘happy’ to let him go (House). Has the hallmarks of a final day signing by Brum, although he won’t be competitively fit until late September. Everton have been crying out for signings but even they don’t think the signing on fee is worth it. Appy’s hunch on Harrison Reed not a bad one, certainly need another CM who fits Still’s system as and when Smallbone and/or Aribo shift on.
