I’d rather have given the bowlers a rest and got runs on the board but the theory might be that the ball gets harder to grip once the lights come on and harder to see high catches for fielders. But I understand Vince’s point around bowlers possible stiffening up in the warm weather and they shouldn’t be short of confidence.

Dawson slowed his pace and held it back. Fuller only two and wicket off last over. Notts still have a chance but Hants on top. Less so after Fuller with Dawson snared Moore’s cheaply.

Amir and Stone quality but agree their other bowlers are very poor. Hard to know how Pennington got into the Test squad last year, 5-6 mph short of any penetration and doesn’t move it much in the air or off the pitch. Their two spinners Linde and Howell (who we know well) are cannon fodder.
