Good for Plymouth and for the FA Cup. And if they build on today and their last result v WBA it could be another headache for Pompey. We wouldn’t have progressed any further if we’d have scraped by on penalties yesterday - the spirit, work ethic, determination you saw at Home Park today, this Saints squad don’t have any of that which you need to go deep in cup competitions let alone win the things.

Looks miserable as anything, trying not to look at Spores with the expression of ‘you’re taking my dream job you cunt’ written across his face. But marking his territory like a dog cocking its leg just by being visible in the Director’s box. Probably spouting off about Goztepe’s league position around the SR board table to massage his Burj Dubai-sized ego.

Don’t disagree with much of that analysis, although Reform might need a different Chair https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm23p33emrdo I suspect it was to head off the rumours of a super-pact party headed by Farage and Johnson.

I’m laughing at the directness of expression, not the gist of the post which I very much agree with. The club needs half-a-dozen quick, physically strong units right through the spine of the outfield and another in goal after Ramsdale goes. We’ve needed that since 2016 as well. The weedier players we have with more a touch will benefit as well and it’ll set us up to be the counter-attacking and pressing best version of ourselves. They don’t all have to be the size of Everest, express pace can compensate. But no more 5/8 to 6 foot ten stone dripping wet signings until we’ve built a backbone. The technical players are the icing on the cake in late July.

The hammerings as a fan I've had to endure

Barnsley 1985 with a very good team was a bitter one. -
It’ll turn consumer financing into the Wild West - that car you bought still has unpaid finance in it - unlucky! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumer_Financial_Protection_Bureau Billionaires and scammers all over the US will be delighted with that, as will the payday loan industry. Oh well, the poorest Americans voted for Trump enthusiastically. Enjoy your poverty!

The reason the UK Conservative Party was so successful was their ability to compromise with the British public and what was important eg Thatcher and ‘The NHS is Safe with Us’, pragmatically bringing in changes important to them balanced with a core of what sits well with the bulk of the electorate and helping those who need it. Reform as you say are a big break from this and won’t benefit many apart from non-doms. I was certainly glad to see Saints liberated from Rupert Lowe! The bloke couldn’t run a bath.

If he’d been a standout like Fernandes has in an ocean of 💩 I might have some understanding of his seeming outlook. But he’s been arguably the worst midfielder regularly starting this season and that’s going some with such a dreadful midfield. If Ipswich want to give us our £18m back after they sell Delap to Man U then fine by me. But Flynn can stop acting like a bell end in the meantime when he hasn’t contributed anything positive this season.

Only the player will know if that’s the case. May be a lack of belief that he can physically compete but has to compete as best he can.

We can only judge by what we see on the pitch which is him brushed off very easily. No-one is expecting Roy Keane 50/50s but in central areas he has to be able to at least nick the ball and hold opponents off when he’s on the ball. He’s coming on in games and they pass him by. He got totally destroyed by Declan Rice in the Nations League as well.

The alpecia I knew about but Chaplow had that as well. Be careful around the chemo - it can trigger people. He probably isn’t a PL athlete but he can pass, good touch, finish, with a bit more strength he could play in a 2 in a decent Champ midfield which Martin couldn’t do with him last year because we got swamped.

Something I do agree with Donald Trump on.

Go down the pub with Guided Missile/John Misselbrook who also stomped off here with his nappy around his ankles. John can seriously drink so take plenty of money when it’s your round.

It’s not a lack of effort with Will, it’s that he’s got a kid’s body trying to play adults football against fit, strong athletes. You can’t look like Ian Ormondroyd any more and although Peter Crouch looked like it, he had surprising upper body strength and used his levers well. Fillet steak at Staplewood, protein shakes, weight training, It’s what any manager who was capable would have been getting Will to do last summer but the manager can’t be best buddies with the players, common theme with Russell Martin.

It’s certainly a variation on Stars in Their Eyes.
-
Oh he’s broken it all right.

Luton haven’t found it so easy though. Sheff Utd also have a manager who has a lot of positive history as a manager and player there who knows that league.

Lavia is a good player but missed a lot of games, and for Romeo not to be replaced was astonishing. Still not been replaced and not signed another central midfielder who has a backbone let alone put their foot in. Downes gets booked for niggling fouls, Oriol would take them for dangerous moments and to be the best memory never got a second booking. Downes, Aribo, Smallbone - as someone who grew up in the era of Jimmy Case that’s depressing, and slightly younger fans experienced Morgan and Victor, then Oriol. Quite some downgrade from theirs.

Couldn’t afford to, needed the land sale to move into SMS and would have been a hassle with the asbestos roofs degrading etc.

They all shy away from the truth on taxation https://ifs.org.uk/articles/parties-should-avoid-tax-pledges-they-may-come-regret https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckkkk90lw50o Reform’s was the most illiterate of all though and that was going some with the conspiracy of silence https://ifs.org.uk/articles/reform-uk-manifesto-reaction The Media don’t help matters - the questioning and formats are so poor and lack incisiveness. The public need to be told in blunt terms as adults if the parties won’t that if you want Brexit with a much smaller economy, levelling up and full public services pre-2010, plus public ownership of railways and utilities, that’s got to be funded and doesn’t work with US levels of taxation.

Reform as part of any coalition or a majority - that would be the final nail in the coffin for the country. As anyone who had to witness the carnage of Lowe running SFC knows all too well. And Brexit has been a disaster. Labour will leak seats all over the country next time out, just hoping the Liberal vote holds up/increases further and tactical voting might keep them out. Tories could lose seats to Reform outright, Badenoch really is struggling.

It is huge, when you consider the disaffected players because their boyfriend was sacked, KWP OOC, Larios and Stewart to be settled with/retired, some players that look miles off any standard with a 17-year olds frame (Smallbone) and loanees who might not want to return to a basket case (AA, Charles, BBD, Edozie, Edwards). Then there’s the income generation - Ramsdale, Dibling, THB, probably Fernandes. Goztepe-based players - will some of those be joining as effective new signings from SR’s best-performing club? And that’s before he actually evaluates who is good enough.
