This MP has been having the hump massively with Starmer and Mahmood over jury trials, to the point he’s becoming an outlier in his party. Not heard any rumours, just an educated guess… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Turner_(British_politician)

It was Farmer that kept saying it - but even that has turned out to be over-optimistic (!) as the names who have stayed like Archer have been absolute turd this season. The people responsible for the summer 2024 window deserve to be put in stocks outside the Bargate and have the ingredients from all of the city centre takeaways which are on the turn thrown at them. Martin got shown for what he is at Rangers (although we knew) but how Ankerson still gets Solak’s ear is astonishing.

Had a pre-stroke I suspect, and the full one won’t be far off.

That’s an even stranger move by Farage than taking Zahawi. Corrupt Bob is a different level of sleaze again, the epitome of a smarmy estate agent shaking your hand whilst smirking and gazumping you. If you’re making the pitch to be genuinely different, he’s the last person you’d want on board. All of the shit they’ve exchanged on social media is an easy stick to hit them with as well.

Different expectations that season. Was grim but light at the end of tunnel in the prospect of breaking the Lowe/Askham stranglehold.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
Gloucester Saint replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Listening to stakeholders and the electorate about wrong-headed policies = good thing Using the electorate as a Beta test facility for rushed/incompletely analysed policies without clear implementation = not acceptable, Starmer needs to do better, a lot better. I personally think they’ll replace him in the summer. -
Either way, the latest experiment needs bringing to an end. Experienced manager please, Mowbray to end of season if they want to go longer-term in the summer, but let them and Spors get on with their jobs.
-
We all know how this ends….Ron the coach driver in his 60s coming on and bullying Stephens/THB for McBurnie to prod a late winner. Ron saying in the post match interviews that 40 years of Benson & Hedges didn’t do him any harm.
-
Didn’t see that - possible - doesn’t reflect well on Spors if so. Nothing against the lad but awful to watch someone that far out of their depth.

This is what will happen with further cost cutting, more decisions made via AI slop. It’s helpful as a base for meeting/workshop notes but YOU have to check for accuracy and quality before you even think about packaging it as informing a decision made at that high a level. Doesn’t matter what the sector is, you will fuck up something major if you don’t.

Injuries on a par with Ross Stewart.

Reminds me of a story in the late 1990s where an LNER fast train was stopped at a red signal in rural Lincolnshire and the train full of passengers got a full view of one of the locals shagging a 🐐 Story was in FHM where the red tops picked it up from, everyone in the barbers was laughing at it! Really foul.

At least their hologram in goal has temporarily relocated to Staffordshire but yes, mini Rasmus will be in the dug out awaiting instructions as normal.

That’s a big old drive for the fans. Players and staff will fly of course.

Tricky one. I’m not adverse to criticising SR and the abject club leadership but on this occasion it’s easy to revert to hindsight. Dom had a serious injury, hadn’t pulled up any trees after that at Cambridge, and isn’t the hold up player we’ve sorely lacked post-Che. He isn’t better than AA at this level, and Archer had prior form at Champ level. As it’s turned with hindsight, I’d have loaned Archer out/sold him as he’s only been bothered v Birmingham, and given Dom a further opportunity, but it really does require hindsight.

Unless he develops the natural instincts and positioning of a professional goalkeeper, he really won’t. I wish him all of the very best and hope has a stormer at Stoke so we can sell him, his career gets going whether Stoke buy or not, but it requires him being 1000% better on the goalkeeping basics than he’s ever been here. We are a car crash, so it’s certainly possible…but I wouldn’t be lumping money on it. If he had the raw potential of a Tim Flowers circa 1988 monitored by John Burridge, my view would entirely different.

Beat Man U at home during the prime Fergie years 3 times in a row. Would never happen now. We had a good record v Newcastle when Keegan was there and the years afterwards up to 2004. Did better at home to Arsenal after Wright retired and regularly beat Spurs, Chelsea. For some balance so this post isn’t too sepia tinted - we did concede 4 in 5 minutes at White Hart Lane under Branfoot, 5 at Sheff Weds, 5-0 at half time at Goodison - but at home we were hard to beat and the odd surprise away win at the big clubs.

Slightly corrected for factuality.

Was certainly the case with Kelvin at that level in 08/09 who received POTS and also Dave Beasant kept us up in 95/96.
-
Or at least until Mini Rasmus gets sacked after a 3-0 defeat at the Ammonia Shed.
-
Zahawi corrupt, Jenryck will be joining them soon so he will at least get forgotten in his level of corruption compared to Bob. Houchen as a Reform Mayor and you’d have a (corrupt) house.

Gavin has not been served by the club in terms of his development. Financially, maybe more so. Ralph was part of the issue early on, because his feud with McCarthy after the Brighton home game the season before and SR probably struggled to shift McCarthy with the albatross of a contract from Semmens. So when Gavin needed to be taken out of the firing line he wasn’t due to stubbornness. His confidence was shredded before it got going, nice words from Martin at the Forum in August 2023 but the actions didn’t match, struggled badly again with a porous and ponderous defence and midfield in front of him. Major injury, wretched loan spell in Belgium and then this season’s car crash. To be clear, this doesn’t absolve him of not having natural goalkeeping ability - compare him to Tim Flowers signed from a Wolves side plummeting into the basement. Timmy at the same age was raw but far more of a natural keeper than Gavin. A key difference was the signing of John Burridge to bring him along, mentor and instill high standards. Anyone who witnessed one of Budgie’s warm-ups will know what I mean! Tim could be brought in gradually without any bullshit.
