  1. Windass age old tactic of getting them a breather. Wrexham the more professional side. Saints will be delighted to get to HT 0-1 and can see a triple sub to kick the side up the arse. Three centre halves and none of them can handle one big lump. Only Quarshie has looked capable. Should’ve bought Coad and not extended Jack’s contract. So unlucky, post and Coady off the line again. Coady is the difference for me, night and day better than anything we have at the back.
  2. Going to ground far too easily. Fraser far more effective.
  3. Jay had to get his shot off there, not ready. Edwards nearly plays us into trouble again, Wellington bails him out. Edwards will be out on loan if QPR want him, maybe wash our face on him and move on.
  4. And again. Free header, should be 0-3 down already. Even if THB stays, centre half is a priority to get quality into for the Ipswich game. Use the loan system. Loan Edwards and Wood out. Edwards has been as bad as Alan Bennett was vs Scowcroft v Palace opening day under Burley.
  5. I don’t think we will be seeing any emojis with ducks and cigars today.
  6. Not a Bazunu fan at all but that is 100% Edwards. Him and Stephens have ball watched several times already. And as someone else put, Moore is hardly peak Sadio Mane for pace. If THB goes, he must be replaced and perhaps loan Edwards out again. Miles off being good enough for Saints from this display.
  7. It is but is a penalty. Edwards showing a lot of naivety. Might get away with it in League 1 but he’s in the Championship.
  8. Manning will be on in a minute, Wellington feeling his hammy. Fuck’s sake, Edwards you twat.
  9. Keeper makes the first save which was at him but great defending by Coady because that was going in from Downes.
  10. Fraser lively, AA just not in the game, Downs on second half to give a focal point and link up play. Midfield a good battle, plenty of energy from both sides. Wrexham have had more quality in the final third, clear where significant funds need to be spent for Saints. Wellington should have gone across goal for his chance.
  11. Our bench could be a point of difference in the last 30 minutes. Their first XI looks solid and competitive for this level, albeit we should have a bit too much still, but their bench is either untested or over the hill compared to ours which is very strong for this level.
  12. Ditto. If I start using ‘Pony’ on the match thread he’s definitely got into my head.
  13. That experience can’t be ignored but training and u23 matches only replicates match day situations so far, although obviously important in preparation. Let’s see how Gavin does in the first 3-4 games and if he’s free of major faults, claiming crosses well and making the saves he should be as well as the ones that are over and above a couple of times then as a fanbase we can start saying ‘you know, I think Gavin has developed and grown’.
  14. Again, more attributing of things that the likes of me, Egg and Sheaf haven’t said. Me and Egg have been pretty consistent on here about the NI being misdirected and very harmful to SMEs under 10 staff, charities and universities etc. The country’s infrastructure is severely under-invested - businesses use that as much as anyone else. The Trump environment and tariffs don’t help anyone. And I’ve been very vocal about the Labour weak approach to rebuilding our relationship with the EU and getting back towards the Single Market. That would be more transformative to businesses than anything else. Exporting without the insane increase in paperwork we have to put up with now.
  15. It’s alright everyone, Reform will fix it 😂 (credit Private Eye)
  16. Question marks over his attitude as well. Can understand his disappointment at being on the bench for the Europa Final but the way he expressed it was not professional or acceptable. As a manger, those individuals are toxin however talented.
  17. Madness, why not see how he gets on in the early games first? An asset is only worth protecting long-term if it can succeed at the level your club or organisation wants/needs to be at.
  18. You’d have thought they’d have learned from the Lallana situation last season. If Adam was giving sage advice, Russell Martin sure as hell didn’t listen to any of it.
  19. IFS hammered the conspiracy of silence at the last GE from Tories, Labour and Reform about taxes almost certainly needing to rise to cover Covid borrowings, type of Brexit and that was before Trump was re-elected with the impact of tariffs.

  21. Hmmm, does anyone recognise this post that sounds rather like what Nic posted a few weeks ago? See, if Mickey wanted to make an example of people on the populist right being poorly read and uniformed, he wouldn’t have look far https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdd32lnq445o
  22. Nah, nowhere has Reeves or Starmer said ‘fuck business’ like Boris did during Brexit. And as for calling them socialist…we’re widely regarded as to left of Labour these days let alone the Greens. You’re sounding like nutcase Nic or drunken John Guided Missile tbh. Had my own business so don’t need lectures on capitalism thanks. And I look forward to hearing about how they somehow to have managed to wipe more off the economy than a hard Brexit did. 6% of GDP. Own it.
  23. Never heard of Liz Truss then? Or slept heavily between 2019-20 when Johnson and Frost wiped 6% off our economy with a needless and brainless hard Brexit. Not a fan of Reeves at all btw as a Lib Dem voter but whatever she does, she won’t have wiped anywhere close, not even remotely, to what those two Conservative clowns did above. And then there’s Truss. And that’s still minute compared with the IFS’s withering assessment of anything economic Reform has put forward, which has had hundreds of billions of uncosted elements. Ours came out the best but not without issues, but then we won’t be winning an overall majority in a Brexit nation. Pity as I think we’d make the country a lot better and happier.
  24. *put a laughing emoji just in case…
  25. The TAA was still spewing hatred at a player, and that’s just three other examples of fan frustration at players under-performing off the top of my head in 60 seconds. Given time plenty more would come to mind. It underscores the point that our fanbase is hardly unique and the Everton example was taken out directly on the players and was equally a frustration with players and owners. And probably humiliated at being Nathan Jones’s only PL scalp in their own backyard!
