  1. Very well said. I’m caught between wondering whether they’re just plain clueless and stupid or whether they’re thinking they can get away with more “experiments” because they know the fanbase aren’t going to put them under pressure to actually focus on the first team here and now, and stop all this clever bollocks stuff that’s just making them look like exactly what they are , clueless owners. I’d be genuinely amazed if they had the balls to continue these experimental , risky signings from abroad if they’d been given more shit from the fanbase for their failings from last season and beyond .
  2. I agree, he did say that, I’ve not suggested any different, but he was literally all over anyone who even suggested it would be the same old nonsense , as if it was idiotic to think this might be yet another false dawn.
  3. But….but…..MLG was really re-assuring when Spors joined, he said we shouldn’t be being sceptical about things any more and we shouldn’t even suggest that it would be more of the same old crap, even after 3 years of shambolic decisions on players and managers, he suggested we should see this as a whole new slate, so by virtue ignoring the fact that Spors employers are still the same useless owners who’ve led us to decline season after season. He was very clear on this, to the point of being condescending and patronising to anyone who suggested this would be more of the same mismanagement. Spors was the new era apparently and everything now should be judged separately. I don’t get it?
  4. Is it too early to make a judgement on spors as a useless cunt yet?
  5. So what we are saying here is, yet again we should just accept and resign ourselves to a season of achieving far less than we’d have accepted before a ball was kicked in the summer, because yet again our owners have been negligent and incompetent in their recruitment? Brilliant. It’s the saints way now under these idiots.
  6. I wonder if anyone still thinks he missed that open goal against Wrexham just before Stephens scored, because he was “fouled”
  7. By these clowns in charge? They couldn’t address an envelope
  8. The irony is, Onuachu would thrive at this level at a team who play to his strengths. 20 goals plus I’d be willing to bet
  9. Rasmus may aswell have stayed in charge of recruitment based on this signing. Doubt he’d have even picked out a worse striker than this joker
  10. Yes and the irony is, Spors saw him as the main centre forward at the club when he signed him, his comments at the time said so. Well now he will see that come to fruition, This is what he wanted , the guy he signed to be our main focal point. Couldn’t make it up
  11. I agree and basically said as much in my previous comment. Can’t deny that.
  12. Dont get me wrong; he’s got more than enough tools to be doing the job properly and a lot better than he is, but we also have a clear lack of a strong centre forward and focal point being that one is injury prone and the other is worse than most of us. However the issue is also more within the ownership, still will be replaced by yet another mediocre manager and this cycle will never get any better until SR have done us all a favour and left our club . They’re destroying it
  13. It’s almost as if the genuises in our board room are susceptible to fall for the new age, hipster, oh so clever appointments and get suckered in by this , isnt it? Who’d have thought if after getting lured into appointing Martin based on a similar hipster, maverick style appointment. Bunch of cretins running, or should I say ruining , our club
  14. What was the cut off point / number of games from which people were willing to judge Still? A lot of people said 10 games. If (and it’s a big if right now) we beat Swansea , we will have 14 points from 10 games. It’s more likely to be another draw and we will be on 12 points. Is 12-14 points acceptable after 10 Games with this budget and squad? Don’t get me wrong I’m not 100% against Still, I feel he could be doing better but he’s also hampered by our dreadful recruitment team not identifying key areas to strengthen properly. Personally if we aren’t on the fringes of the play offs at the very least by Christmas , he’s surely got to go.
  15. Yep, every time you see an opposition with a 10th20th/50th of our budget , have a striker who does a good job, keeps our defenders occupied, wins balls in the air, holds the ball up and generally cause a nuisance and provide them with a focal point, it really hammers home the point of how mind bogglingly shit and grossly incompetent our recruitment is, we had 7 million where others have had 100-200k, and we’ve spunked it all on one of the worst strikers anyone has ever seen at this level, and for this club at any level. Fucking pathetic and Spors and his team need to answer some questions about this at some point. He’s not just bad, he’s horrific, barely looks league 2 level and plays like he can’t be arsed. After the record breakingly bad recruitment we’ve had to put up with prior to Spors arriving, for him to pull out this steaming turd of a signing is just taking the piss.
  16. It was really to emphasise the point that even the younger bracket of age groups within our club would show more willing and desire , basics for every footballer, than this bloke and as a result bring more to the table than absolutely nothing, which is what he’s currently giving us. Absolutely fuck all. But hey, your hero spors signed him so let’s hope he comes good. Any comments of your own or opinions about how things are going? Or are you going to nit pick on irrelevant parts of other posters comments as usual?
  17. Surely time to cut our losses with this fucking clown and exclude him from the squad. We must have a big striker in the under 18s who could do a better job than this idiot. If I was Still I’d be banging Spors door down asking him what the fuck is this he’s lumbered me with , and demanding a replacement in January, though it’s worrying in itself that Spors is capable of signing such complete dross. Lost all faith he can find a decent alternative too.
  18. Overall a good win and encouraging to show a bit of resilience to come back from a goal down , helped by a piece of individual brilliance from Stewart, hopefully we are finally going to see the best of him now. I thought we just about deserved to win over the 90. The penalty was soft to say the least but it was definitely a foul on McCarthy, those types nearly always get given so not sure what the comms were moaning about so much on sky, was painful to listen to. Only slight negative was the way we went into our shell in the last 20 minutes and invited pressure, but you could say that was down to nerves and the fact we aren’t used to winning, so confidence is still a little fragile but this should do us the world of good heading into a very winnable match on Saturday.
  19. I’m seriously losing the will to live with this shit. You just know we will start the second half fairly well, tippy it around their half for a bit, then they’ll get a free kick of corner around 60 min Lump into the box , and we will be 2-0 down. Rinse and repeat with these cunts. The club is a joke right now
  20. This is going the way of the hull game so far. Expect more tippy tappy and then concede another one or two in the second half
  21. 2-0 saints. Downs to come on and net a double, one a towering header and another bulldozing run, outmuscling the defence before blasting home. Prompting the following headline in the papers the next days; ”Downs downs blades”
  22. Now there’s a visual image I was hoping to avoid….
  23. Don’t worry he’ll come good, after all…., Group Technical Director Johannes Spors said: “Damion is a player we have been monitoring for some time who possesses excellent physical qualities and the ability to disrupt defences. “Strengthening our attacking options was one of our top priorities this summer, and Damion is a player who will add real quality to the group. Despite his relatively young age he is already a senior international, so we are excited to see him thrive in the environment here at Southampton.”
  24. What’s more worrying about that quote from Spors, other than the obvious bit about Downs non existent physical attributes, is that he states that striker was one of our top priorities, which indeed it was. So being that he was well aware of that, this bloke , and this bloke alone, was who he was banking on to solve our striker woes, as the main man this season. Let that sink in
  25. Johannes Spors upon the signing of Downs….. Group Technical Director Johannes Spors said: “Damion is a player we have been monitoring for some time who possesses excellent physical qualities and the ability to disrupt defences. “Strengthening our attacking options was one of our top priorities this summer, and Damion is a player who will add real quality to the group. Despite his relatively young age he is already a senior international, so we are excited to see him thrive in the environment here at Southampton.” im sorry but this is up there with Les Reed saying that Pellegrino was going to bring “high intensity pressing attacking football” to the club
