  1. Interesting one for Jan. Do we stick with the same team who did so well at Derby or do we rest them for Saturday and give the likes of Euell and Skacel a run out, if not for fitness then just to put them in the shop window?
  2. I honestly think there are at least about 2k fans who will not go whilst Lowe is there. Maybe more. Now maybe if the side starts winning regularly those fans will be replaced. But if not, and i don't see why we should expect the side to challenge near the top, how are we going to cover that shortfall in attendance? Lowe will sell a youngster in Jan. Same fans will stay away. Next summer we sell more youngsters. Even more people stay away next season. We sell more youngsters to cover for them. Eventually we will have no money and no players of any value to sell.
  3. Oh no Panda, i will be there as much as i can be! I go to be entertained and for the first time in years we might get some nice football! Although i do fear that a young side will burn out very quickly and we will slump from December onwards. All i was trying to say is that there are fans out there who won't go because of Lowe.
  4. What has happened to the 6,000 missing fans then? Don't get me wrong, i would love to see a full house at SMS on saturday, but i was seriously alarmed with the attendance for the Brum game, and i fear it may not have been a one off. Let's hope we get back to crowds of 24/25,000+.
  5. Like Andrew Davies? Oh...
  6. Sorry Panda but some fans have principles regarding Lowe. They believe (quite rightly in my opinion) that he is a complete and utter disaster and will not go to games while he is Chairman. Of my friends i used to go with, half did not renew their season tickets after Lowe returned.
  7. Remind me how much Spurs got for Keane and will get for Berba? Top dollar is the expression i think. 1.3 million is not top dollar for Andrew Davies in the opinion of a lot of fans who saw him captain the side and win player of the season.
  8. That's fair enough but i wouldn't be so sure they will come back. Selling Davies has ****ed off a lot of fans. I think this team is going to have to be up there challenging for automatic promotion for fans to come back. I hope i'm wrong though. And people can say what they like about those who stay away, but as they say "the customer is always right." If they really are stubborn then this club will go nowhere until Lowe is removed.
  9. You know what is different? A big section of our fanbase clearly are not prepared to accept it anymore. Why else was the Brum attendance 6,000 lower than the first game of last season? I can only assume they aren't happy with the 'product' that has been put forward by the 'company'. I just hope these kids get some results together and persuades fans to return. Otherwise, 19,000 crowds just won't cut it i'm afraid.
  10. I still go just to clarify. But attendances for Brum were low for a reason i'm afraid. 6,000 down on the first game of last season. There is a big section of our fan base who not only dislike Lowe, but are prepared to stay away from SMS while he is in charge and selling our best players. Now people might say "screw them they aren't real fans" but i tend to think it is these fans we need to get back if we are to fend off financial problems. Now maybe some of them will come back if this side is successful. But maybe they won't.
  11. Why is it so difficult to understand that some fans believe very strongly that Rupert Lowe is a bad thing for this club and therefore do not wish to support his regime? There are also a lot of fans who refuse to go so long as we continue to sell our best players. I can't blame them for not going either. After all, Rupes spent 10 years treating fans as 'customers'. Well now that is going to come back and bite him in the arse.
  12. Rupert Lowe is Chairman. What do you think will happen?
  13. Where were you at school scooby?
  14. I completely agree. But you can't blame fans for staying away when a) Lowe is at the club and b) he is selling players all over the place. Hopefully if we can get a few good results the fans will come back but there will still be a large number of fans who won't return until Lowe has gone. Not saying it's right but it's true i'm afraid
  15. Same tune as Rasiak song surely would be best?
  16. Glad to hear that. I thought Gillet was outstanding v brum so good to see him continue his good form. I think he could have an excellent season. Also, well played Jan for introducing the experienced subs at the right time to secure the win. We missed that last week v brum so glad to see jan has learnt from that so quickly.
  17. Massive result. Will do wonders for confidence. Well played boys!!!
  18. I don't give a monkeys what stoke believe he is worth. Look at the Barry situation at Villa. They believe he is worth 18 million to them. That may not be his actual value (probably nearer to 10-12 million, but they value him as an integral part of their squad, so that's the value they put on him. Liverpool either pay it or they won't get him. I understand we are skint, but we should be persuading the bank that selling our best young players is not a solution to getting out of our financial troubles. Salz and Crouch were able to do this, so why can't Lowe? Because he doesn't want to. He wants us to sell everything in sight and rely on a squad of 20 or so youngsters. THAT WILL NOT HELP OUR FINANCES IN THE LONG RUN. It will end in relegation, and even if it doesn't, it certainly won't end in promotion. And the only way we will sort this financial mess out is if we are either taken over or we get promotion
  19. Respect your opinions on Drew but that is laughable. Put Hleb up against Surman in a 20 meter sprint and Hleb would win before Drew had even started. Deceptively quick.
  20. My point is that i don't think you can simply say 'he only played 12 games, he can't be any more valuable'. Surely it is the impact someone makes and how valuable he is to US that sets his fee. Boro valued him at 1 million. Doesn't mean he is worth that to us.
  21. Maybe he should be competing with lallana for the spot in the hole? Even then, i think lallana is showing great promise in that position.
  22. If we bought a striker for 1million and after 12 games he had scored 36 league goals would it be acceptable to then sell him for 1.3million?
  23. I have to say from what i have seen so far Holmes can cross a ball and has a yard of pace, more crucially. Surman is slow, and isn't particularly willing to put his foot in either. So where do you play him if he isn't quick enough to be a winger and is too soft to play in the middle of midfield? He does pass the ball quite well, so i do think he has some talent, i just don't see where he can fit into the side.
  24. They would be pleased that good performances weren't rewarded or appreciated by the senior management at the club? 1.3 million is laughable for our player of the season. And he played 25 times for us not 12 according to the Echo
  25. Let's put it another way. What sort of message does it send to these youngsters breaking through when they see a player who captained the team last year and was voted player of the season. A laughable offer comes in for him. Not only is the offer accepted, but the senior management then explain to him that his wages are too high so it is in everybody's best interests he leave?
