Yeah i think the whole away end was in total shock when it went in. Cracking away day that day, remember travelling up with absolutely no expectations but it turned out to be a top day out.
-
I spent most of his run that day screaming at him to pass the fucking ball, not for the first (or last) time i was proven very wrong.
-
Been a few down the years, the Zlatan one definitely up there but the one that will always haunt me - probably as much to do with the age i was at the time as anything - is Adrian Fucking Heath

Elite level creator? Sounds like we've signed god and maybe that means a miracle will happen. Personally though knowing sport republic i'm expecting it to turn out we signed the wrong one and a green toad in a suit will stroll on the pitch in the first game declaring his hatred of Danger Mouse

Yup that was the game, think we played them twice there in fairly quick succession, the 4-3 game and a midweek game where Le Tiss scored one of his wonder goals. Barnsley itself was a proper weird place, the most northern town i've ever been to, loads of hills a couple of factories and and a football ground in a field (pretty much). Plus all the locals looked like Weebles. I did both games and actually ended up having to hitchhike back from the cup game as i got stuck, managed to get a lift down from Barnsley to Winchester with some random Saints fans who'd driven, then had to figure out the last part home in the early hours of the morning.

Was funny back then, if you did any decent number of games you'd end up knowing most of the away support as the people who actually travelled everywhere were so small in numbers. Also we'd always have one weirdly massive northern away follow each season, remember playing Barnsley away in what was an absolute nothing game, they'd already more or less gone down and we'd basically confirmed staying up, and for some reason we sold out the entire away end despite having barely taken a few hundred to bolton a few weeks before and the same few hundred to leeds.
-
I remember going to leeds away in the mid 90's (i think), midweek game and we were shit and they were good, think it might've been the first game Carlton Palmer played back there too, and i doubt we took more than 300 to it. In fact most games north of brum back then we'd be unlikely to sell out 1k tickets, for all my complaints on quality our numbers have definitely improved massively in recent years. Also re:lower allocations at Chelsea i'm sure we had our allocation reduced by them for a bit due to "persistent standing" in the away end. After that the club just chose not to take the increased allocations for some reason, which is weird cause i'm sure our record at Stamford Bridge isn't actually that bad.

Bought mine today and was surprised how many have gone already, got mine nice and close to the stairs so when their third goes in i can be out the ground quickly

I'm hoping Notts Forest will throw this game and let us win so we don't take Derby's worst points total title from them. That is literally the only hope I have, because if they don't do this we're not winning it by any stretch. Still i guess the upside is that Nottingham some absolutely brilliant pubs to head back when the third goes in, and I assume the bingo buses will have a pit stop at Hooters.

It really was his baby, and he cared so much he took specialist advice from someone who knew all about babies called Louise Woodward 👀

Probably the time he threatened lawsuits to journalists for reporting on the fact Markus had died? Or the time he threatened lawsuits for press wanting to report on the fact he hadn't paid builders? Or the time he threatened lawsuits for the time press wanted to report on the fact that he'd been on spending sprees in london using the clubs money? Funny how none of those made it to court isn't it? Surely with how good he was to the club and how he never did anything wrong they'd have been walkovers in court
-
I wonder what our poets in residence make of him? Perhaps they'll be penning altogether nastier stanza about Juric as he doesn't make them wetter than when they went to see cliff richard play
-
Saints to win this comfortably, 4-1 and Ron Davies will score all four goals
-
I can only assume that Kraft has been asked to leave due to his complete and utter incompetence at delivering THE FIVE PLEDGES. Another board member rightfully forced out due to their lack of action on the pledges, hopefully any new person coming in will make it a priority and actually deliver them so we can move forward.
-
Personally I can't wait for him to be replaced by someone who's got absolutely no experience of football but has done a really good Ted Talk on DISRUPTING INDUSTRIES! Maybe if we're lucky we can break something to prove it should be broken. WE BUSINESS SPEAK ON!
-
We've already got them in the gulag, alongside god awful cover bands, dancing nonces and over priced beer. It's the home of the noddy bantz and songs sung at underpaid bar staff who don't want to be there.
-
I hope to god we never get this at football, the try hard pricks chucking their pints in the air because we've scored an equaliser at home to Watford and drenching people in piss water beer would be a nightmare.
-
Bus replacement is only about 20mins if you do the tube to Newbury Park instead of getting the train from Liverpool st. Train to waterloo, tube to newbury park, bus to Shenfield, train to Ipswich. Adds about 35mins extra to the journey so nothing too bad.
-
Yeah there's a fair few smaller allocations in the champtionship next season, and no doubt people will be squinnying when they don't qualify. Not that i'm going to complain if people drop points as it helps me in the long run. I am alright, jack.
-
Genuinely surprised about the fact they've made general sale, surely people are building their numbers up as there's the game at Goodison that'll be really popular and obviously next season a potential away at Fratton
-
it's pretty dire to be honest, no one can keep in time, there's way too many noddy songs and the lack of away fans to interact with means it's quiet a lot of the time. The less said about the cheap as fuck scaffold "safe standing" the better too, reckon they just got someone nick a job lot from Trants one evening and stick it in. It's going to be seriously embarrassing next season when we play the skates and we have The Wall singing noddy songs they can't hear and the Chapel and Kingsland full of people who don't give it back, they're going to think our support is soppy as anything.

Manager called Ivan, gulags round the ground, a red wall and flags that say Red Army. What’s the odds any director of football has the nickname uncle Joe?
-
Into heavy metal music, starts fist fights with board members and happy to have a pop at the players, fans and media. No idea what he's like as a manager but at least he'll be a laugh as a character. To be honest whoever we get we're going down, so long as he doesn't play god awful sideways and backwards football i'm happy enough to give the fella a chance.
-
Whoever we get all i hope is it's not someone who plays the unwatchable crap that is the tippy tappy bollocks. I genuinely think if i have to put up with another season of that i'll give up my season ticket, because there's nothing worse than coma inducing sideways football with no urgency.

Got Danny Rohl with us, he's got pledges in hand. And they say what they say, 'bout playing the Danny Rohl way. Oh yeah. It's all just a ten year plan.
