What’s your unpopular opinion on Saints?

Which reminds me of another... Ralph should've been sacked immediately after the first 9-0 as a point of principle that that level of failure wasn't acceptable at the club -

this reminds me of another one actually, The word "legend" is massively overused by fans because we are so starved of real legends. Since Le Tissier we have only had one, Ricky Lambert, that fits the profile. -

As a team we are completely irrelevant to 99% of the teams in the leagues, and that is absolutely fine. Claude Puel was a very good manager for us and even the "boring football" tag wasn't correct. JWP is a skate and will never be a legend. Our away support is pretty cringeworthy these days. Silence at a game is preferable to a lot of the songs that are sung (stared in a chapel, songs about libraries, most songs about the skates). To many of our fans take football WAY too seriously, it should be a laugh with your mates not an exercise in stat counting. The way away tickets are dished out is completely wrong, it should be season ticket holders + x aways first, then members + x aways, until it gets down to general sale. As a fanbase we have a losers mentality & will put up with glorious loses far too easily. The fans singing about championship again ole ole ole last season are part of the problem with what's gone wrong at the club, if we don't show ambition & standards why do we expect the players to? David Armstrong is one of the best players to ever play for the club and should be held up on the same level as many of our legends -

Hopefully the FAB will leads us all in a round of "We Appreciate That You're Here, We Appreciate That You're Here" to the away fans tomorrow to show how welcoming we are as a club. Maybe followed by "We respect you because you've travelled", or "Whatever happens, we hope football wins"
-
Is there any truth in the fact they're finally discussing how to stop people from saying nasty words to the away fans? Apparently one away fan was accused of having a face with it's own gravitational pull the other week because it was so big and this really hurt his feelings. Also hopefully they'll be talking about how we can invest more money in the women's team because the mens team is taking too much of it. I believe The FAB will be on the money with these things given how well they represent us
-
It was disgraceful behaviour and obviously i chastised them for doing it, how could they disrespect the Rule Of The FAB like that? Anyway i've taken their names for the list, i believe one of them is called pike

Personally i'm entirely behind their appeal and i think it should not just be overturned but Charlton, Blackburn and West Brom should all be given an additional six points for the mental stress this has caused. -
Bit of a stretch to call Fulham south london, i mean craven cottage is north of the river.
-
Done it loads so probably one of the ones i'd want the least, of those left an away at any of Port Vale, Macclesfield or Mansfield would be my preference. Otherwise given it should be a weekend game Bristol City would be great as Bristol is a cracking day out for pubs, in fact of the teams left the only one i wouldn't want is Wolves away, so Wolves it is then
-
You are right, there was clearly room for improvement here as reducing the number would've given us higher possession stats. Every time we scored the opposition started with the ball taking the possession stat down, clearly a massive mistake by Martin that. Good spot.
-
Honestly i can't believe there's still people blaming Martin when it's actually football that's the problem, Martin is a visionary, way ahead of his time. If only the game itself could catch up with the fact that goals don't matter and sideways and backwards passing is what the spectators are there to see. In fact his powerpoint should be mandatory to everyone in the country and the beatings should continue until there is no doubt that his way IS the right way

Gordon Simpson left the club recently who used to do all the social stuff and marketing/comms, he was a saints fan from southampton who actually got the city and what the club means to us, it would appear whoever they've replaced him with has the knowledge of hamster who's been drinking bleach

I believe it was the premiership who bottled it rather than the people running division two which they're in now -
Ticket releases for August and Portsmouth games?
franniesTache replied to Ekimr's topic in The Saints
Fortunately we have the FAB on the case, and they will be asking the hard questions here. Like "how does this affect the women's team?" And "can we give priority to people who take stuffed toys on the bingo buses?". We are so lucky to have a group that reflect the core identity of those that go home and away. Piss taking aside though - and whilst this doesn't really affect me in the slightest - this does now basically lock away tickets to season ticket holders only, and also penalises anyone who can't afford a smart phone (or can't use one because of disability). I wonder if this is even legal under uk law? Surely there has to be an alternative (i know they do provide physical tickets in place of season tickets for example) -
With Sport Republic's track record cutting loose the entire squad and replacing them would see us go down with zero points and the worst goal difference ever
-
If we go up we'll be absolutely fine, the gap between the championship and premier league isn't huge and all of our players are good because we signed them. Obviously you're all falling into the trap of using your eyes to watch football instead of trusting the data
-
Cool so the owner of the group doesn't tell people what they want to hear and always tells the truth. Gotcha.
-
So let me get this right, when Rasmus says the opposite to a turkish audience it's just being said because it's a turkish audience and isn't true, but when Solak says it to an audience in southampton it's not because it's to an audience in southampton it's because it's true. Cool stuff, nice to know we don't need to question what's being said anymore and that they don't do marketing with us.

I think the police should be commended, all of that extra policing, all of the extra barriers to fans, the anti social start time, the rules around food and drink was a huge success as it reduced the amount of arrests by a MASSIVE 3(three) people compared to 2019. In 2019 it was chaos, a violence that justified the bubble with a huge number of 8 arrests in total. But with the bubble in place the police were incredibly successful in bring that huge number down to 5 arrests. Thank god they did it.
-
If you could get organised and buy a block behind each goal that was intentionally left empty that would definitely have a huge impact, though there's probably no way of policing it in the ground and people would just move into the gap sadly. The other option is to go, but then all walk out as soon as the whistle for kick off is blown, and just stay in the area out the back of the stand instead. In Europe they'd probably do one of those massive banners to cover the seats, which would be impressive, but we're not that kind of club and to be honest i always find them a bit try hard. One other thing that does need to happen is for fans to engage with the press and express their disgust at the bubble. Minor issue there is that you'd have more strength doing it with representation from both clubs, and i for one don't want to be seen with those cunts 🤣
-
Thanks for that, a friend of mine also emailed them and got an almost identical reply from them, including the patronising bollocks about them being all round the ground. The most annoying part to all this is that if the fans groups do work together the bubble can be cancelled, as has been proven in virtually every other derby around the country, but we end up with a bunch of wet blankets who've been picked because they watch the women's team that most of us don't give a shit about. I personally have absolutely no doubt that if it happens again next season it'll be a bubble again, and given how shit our FAB are i think the only way we could get it stopped would be to boycott the game. The impact of empty away ends at both games would be huge, especially given the press coverage on them, but sadly i can't see enough people willing to make that effort from either side
-
It was the home end, the corner of the north stand next to the saints fans, before that they'd thrown one over the partition as you come in into the area the saints fans were in. No idea why they're claiming it came from Saints as it didn't. In fact the din that threw was waving the packet it came in about in the home end after it went off so it'll be pretty easy to identify him
-
The keeper he reminds me of the most is John Burridge, not the best keeper but not terrible and you knew he'd stop the ball with his face if needed
