Comedy defending gave them two goals - before Perry came on Iwelumo was allowed to do just as he liked, sometimes even winning balls in the air by simply standing there! But in the second half you'd never have thought that we were the side at the wrong end of the table, and with ten players against eleven. An excellent display, I really felt justice wasn't done today. But why the hell Perry didn't start I just can't fathom. I couldn't see why Euell was sent off; as others have stated, he didn't seem to go into the tackle any harder than the Wolves player. BWP hit the post and we should, I'm quite sure, have been given a penalty as well.

A three-word answer: we don't know. A four-word answer: we probably never will.

No... Really?

How to ruin a football club in less than 5 years

You really can't argue with that! -
His occasional references to his hero, Iain Duncan Smith, give him away as well...

Are there no Marstons pubs in Salisbury then?
-
Do you know him personally then? Rather more to the point though, do you really think he could have been serious in the stuff he used to post on here?
-
Well golly gosh, I didn't know that. He's obviously a Saints fan then. You must have read the stuff he posted, surely. Nobody who was either serious or a Saints fan could have posted what he did. He was the most obvious troll you could wish for; if he'd given his home address as 'under a bridge, looking out for billy goats' he couldn't have been more transparent.

What the hell led you to that conclusion?
-
No, he's not Scooby. He used until recently to run his own Saints web site, but that has now disappeared. Before it did, it degenerated to the point where it had about half a dozen posters, with a remarkable degree of attention being paid to what was being posted on this site. My favourite thread on that site (I only looked at it once or twice, but that was quite enough) was one concerning the worst Lowe luvvies on this site - Scooby was top of the list, showing that Stanley (as he's now known on here) never quite worked out that Scooby was a troll who had no allegiance to Saints whatsoever.

So you've got Saint Richmond at right back, with Um Pahars in front of him. Do you think that's a combination that's going to work?
-
I have to agree. I can understand Long Shot's position, but I can't bring myself to wish defeat on my team.

A tangential question - are the posts from Beckster actually from her, or from Bon Call Night? I don't profess to be an expert, but they read like the latter's work, and he's used Beckster's id to post before. If he's doing it now, then why the hell doesn't he reach in his virtual pocket, find a handy fiver and post under his own id? Of course, if it's actually Beckster posting, then both have my sincere and grovelling apologies... -
I thought the same thing. I normally use Firefox as my browser, and it looks pretty awful. But then I've got Firefox set up to block adverts, so a major part of the site gets blocked. If you use a browser with little or no ad-blocking, it will look OK. Using IE7, with no blocking, it looks all right. Nice to see a few legends on the banner though.

I think you'll find that the electricity company will already have done that...
-
You could indeed, but I think you'll find that was Charlie George!

It was certainly Frank - not playing for us at that time, sadly! Can't remember who it was against, but I loved his comment afterwards, which was along the lines of: "The ball came to me and I could have passed it back, but I decided to do the simple thing..." A true star, Frank - I always thought he was great before he signed for us. Fantastic skill and vision (check out his pass to Mark Dennis in the build-up to Danny Wallace's first goal against Liverpool in 1984), plus a massive Elvis devotee.

I didn't realise there were Man Utd fans in Manchester - I thought they all lived in Guildford or thereabouts!
-
Yep - whatever Le Tiss may or may not have been paid, it's impossible to argue with that.

Some time in the 1960s we won 4-0 at Old Trafford (or was it 4-1?) - either way, it was Ron Davies' match. Can't remember what year it was, as I was very young at the time... And I'll always remember our 1-0 win at Anfield late in 1981 - I was sitting in a student hostel in Moscow, listening to the results on the World Service. We were a pretty decent team then, but winning at Anfield was all but unheard of.

How do I cancel my PayPal subscription to SaintsWeb Ltd?

Of course you can - but why haven't you mentioned it before? -
"This will silence my critics," thought Rupert, as he slipped the plans for his revolutionary new catering set-up into his jacket.

Are there accidental stay-aways too? Surely there must be. I think they should have their own thread too, otherwise they'll feel left out.

On point (1), the threshold for a shareholder being legally obliged to offer for all shares is 30%, so there are no other shareholders who would hit this amount by buying Wilde's shares. On point (2) I can only agree.
