Having thought about it, "if" he's as capable as he was when he left us I think it could work. He showed he was adaptable over the years and could work well in whatever system was asked of him. Good attitude. If his set piece ability is as good as it was, teams used to hate challenging us around their box in case of giving away a free kick. Adds another dimension.

Yes and from the footage I saw, he was on the floor looking incapacitated. In mitigation it may have initially been perceived as intoxication? It also appeared pretty dark. I don't want to be the one justifying the police actions if it turns out that there were serious errors after more facts come out, but I think the criticism will end up coming down to - how long after he'd said he'd been stabbed was he checked for wounds - because in the footage I saw it was cut inbetween. If it was a few seconds, so be it. Much longer than that is perhaps a different story.

I agree with this. When people are stabbed in this way external bleeding is often minimal and may not have been visible when clothed. The police are lied to constantly and after he said he'd been stabbed, "I don't think you have mate" was probably his impression at the time before checking. The police may deserve criticism for not checking for wounds sooner but I'm not convinced the rage against them is deserved.
