  1. IF you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream - and not make dreams your master; If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools: If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, ' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch, if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
  2. Can someone remind the OP that the multi-million pound UK football industry doesn't quite run like his local Parish Council. If you really want to make a change, buy the club.
  3. In a way I think the board have been quite strong. They clearly made him resign and as widely reported cough up £2m for said privilege to do so. That will go a long way to securing a decent manager and support staff. The harsh reality is that Spurs are a better payday and a better short/ medium tem prospect for MoPo - the board couldn't off changed that. We could well be a more interesting and stable long-term bet, but clearly he didn't want to take that risk. MoPo was a good manager for us but not without imperfections and frustrations. The new board have a chance to run a clean broom through the management structure and I will reserve judgement until September on how they have performed in the post-Cortese era.
  4. Whoever it is, we will be disappointed I am sure, elated when he exceeds expectations and vindictive when he leaves for a CL job.
  5. I wasn't one of those.
  6. I very much doubt Lallana will go to Spurs.
  7. If only there was a next manager thread.
  8. Moyes I presume would also bring with him a back room staff, a reason IIRC why he joined Everton over us 13 years ago.
  9. For me it was his rendition of "If" by Kipling that provided the David Brent moment of the evening for me.
  10. Who could have predicted this? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?50169-Ralph-Krueger-s-end-of-season-interview&p=1935524#post1935524
  11. No, an Arsenal fan on a windup.
  12. The end of the world is nigh, I'd go back away until September.
  13. Flying to meet us he would fly to Southampton. Flying to meet Daniel Levy, Easyjet to Gatwick. Also we currently have both a manager and class.
  14. Interesting to see how the punishing training routine will hold up with all the extra games and travel the Europa League affords you. Especially given his ambivalence about that competition. Just because he is talking to them doesn't mean it is a done deal. He might get both offers, weigh them up and still choose us.
  15. Nope, and I used them as an example. If they deserved it on grounds of gross misconduct etc. please substitute my example with: Nigel Adkins Alan Pardew Mark Wotte Jan Portivelt
  16. He more likely drove.
  17. This is utterly hilarious. People now running MoPo's ability and character because he is on the verge of dumping us for a rival. He is a professional, he believes this is the best move for him. Am I disappointed? Yes. Am I surprised? No. Many on here bemoaning the lack of loyalty that he is [reportedly] showing us. By the way, this is exactly the same level of loyalty our club showed to Dodd and Williams - it cuts both ways.
  18. People in glass houses.
  19. Says a bloke funding the money driven world of the EPL
