  1. Correct! Lallana 2018 Shaw 2018 Lovren 2017 Chambers 2017 Schneiderlin 2017 Clyne 2016 Unless there are specific clauses for these guys we are in a good position to retain / obtain silly transfer fees for them. To be honest we should be equally concerned about Boruc, Cork and Steve Davis who's current deals run out in 2015.
  2. The Express article lost all credibility at this point for me. "The big exodus fears come just weeks after local electronics giant, Veho"
  3. Correct, but I was assuming we were not passing our players off as fuel, food or children's clothing. https://www.gov.uk/vat-rates
  4. VAT is payable on UK to UK deals, yes. But I suspect it is in addition to quoted figures (as it is reclaimable).
  5. Astori was always quoted around the £10m mark. There will be other good value buys out there and quite sure the transfer committee will have been monitoring. However, at risk of losing face on SWF I have actually been now convinced by my peers on here that £20m in the current market probably isn't that appealing as I first believed.
  6. Clearly a fake and a kit thread already running.
  7. My understanding was that transfer deals (like most b2b transactions) are quoted exclusive of VAT. The rate of VAT in the UK is also 20%.
  8. I suspect we have offered to double his salary to £2m per annum for 3 years. Hence the £6m.

  10. Ditto
  11. Ok, on the basis that this figure is likely to be made up and there a no suitable replacements south of £20m I withdraw my offer to drive him up there myself.
  12. £20m for a centre back who has had one decent season for us is crazy money. Good player that I would like to keep, but that figure is just silly.
  13. £6m per year is quite frankly ********. Disappointed if we have really offered this.
  14. Fair point Kracken. But £5-10m buys you the cream of the crop from most European leagues.
  15. Think it deserves it's own thread. If they are really prepared to offer £20m that is bat **** bonkers. Good defender, yes. £20m, I'd drive him there myself.
  16. We sacked Pardew = meltdown We sacked Adkins = meltdown We sacked Cortese = meltdown Each time we have continued to progress, the two constants have been the Liebherr family and Les Reed, which gives me some comfort we will be ok either way.
  17. You should definitely post more than once a month.
  18. Terry Venables
  19. I think KL has shown a growing fondness for the club. She has replaced one executive with a board of executives which will give us better governance. As others have said she is smart enough to realise that the asset that was purchased for £14m and invested to the tune of £36m is now worth £150-200m if we look at the Villa price whilst still in the Prem, I don't think she'll risk de-valuing that asset. If you don't move forwards in this league you go backwards. In answer to the OP, yes she does have my full support for now.
  20. Really? Life is too short to hate. I'd much prefer that he did ok but we went past him.
  21. Just bored of the situation now. MP has been on the whole great for us but he isn't the god that many make out. He has been mediocre in the transfer market and failed to strengthen key areas when he had the chance. So on balance I'd like him to stay and see how far he can take us, but equally excited about who else our next project could attract.
  22. Given his previous statements I'd prefer him to say nothing.
  23. It does look at bit like Les Reed. Any earlobe experts care to comment?
  24. Poyet and MacKay appear to be the front runners http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/southampton/next-permanent-manager Meanwhile Rafa looks a good outside bet http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/tottenham/next-permanent-manager
