  1. I had completely forgotten about him! Remember watching a sub keeper warm up at Walsall. His kicking was dreadful, it had our goalkeeping coach shaking his head in disgust. Couldn't help but think he wasn't up to much this Shea lad, only to realise after he had already returned to Arsenal and that we had plumped for Tommy Forecast as a better back-up......
  2. Jos Hooiveld and Chaplow were initially short term loans. The move for Danny N'Guessan and Dale Stephens at the back end of our league 1 campaign also helped. (If only N'Guessan's goal at Charlton had counted....) Initially shoring up the team after the takeover with Neil Trottman and Jacob Mellis also served a purpose. Antonio really was a bit of a favourite, the only real 'useless' loan I can think of is Nicholas Bignall. They have their place, with financial fair play, the issue blocking West Ham getting Carroll.... it will be trickier the high up the leagues you go.
  3. Toothpastes tubes that have not been squeezed from the base up.
  4. Insincerity Casual Racism (It's all bad but this just annoys me more, people should surely know better by now.) When things do not function as you would expect (E.g. Internet failures....) Needlessly condescending behaviour (E.g. Badge snobbery.) Arrogance People sauntering in crowds. Get out of the damn way! Middle lane hoggers People claiming poverty when it's their own inability to manage money that's the core issue. (I'm looking at you Skates....) People who take themselves too seriously Insect bites
  5. The badge is unique, immediately identifiable and by the fans for the club. Leave it alone.
  6. Trying to be positive with Fox in the side.... I said 2-2 before. I stick by it.
  7. I'm on Orange and can't fault it.
  8. If I was Nicola Cortese, I would be throwing his party at the stadium.... all expenses paid, the day before the actually birthday itself...... with a signing ceremony at midnight!
  9. I echo Boruc, but an announcement about Shaw was made a while ago. He will sign in the summer, he already has a pre-contract agreement signed and I see no reason why he would currently want to leave and bench warm somewhere.
  10. He's probably due a pay rise then.
  11. They are a bit 'bitey' on there aren't they! #waves Never particularly liked West Ham myself, mainly due to an absolutely arrogant knuckle dragging c*ck who frequents the Eclipse in Winchester. At least a fair few of them have figured out R*dkn*pp for what he is, so they can't be all bad.
  12. Same here, except I didn't go to Wembley. At least I got to vote on the sale of John Akinde to Bristol City. (That worked out well for him....)
  13. After the comment on MOTD last week he will probably put us down for a draw just because.
  14. I'm actually going to give their fans a little credit. They now part own their club. They have no democratic power and collectively own a minority share, but all credit.....
  15. I would rather take West Brom as an inspiration. They had an awful start, nearly as bad as ours this term in their second year up. They pushed through it and had a wonderful year. Norwich have also avoided any real terrors. (They are not mathematically safe yet, but relegation would be improbably.) Second season syndrome is not a concern for me.
  16. Probably the biggest compliment that can be given on this site, much obliged! I'll pay you later....
  17. If only Saints and Football worked on probabilities.
  18. On the basis of us winning 4 in a row being very unlikely. I'm going for a draw on Saturday.
  19. All hugs at the moment, wait until they start infighting.
  20. If we lose one of Morgan or Cork we are vulnerable. We would be foolish not to want a player of his ability and capability to supplement and bolster our midfield options.
  21. This thread just shows that it would be a bad idea. I would almost expect half the crowd to start cheering if there was a minute's silence for her. A very Marmite character.
  22. 1) Yep 2) No, that was in the Amanda Bynes film, 'She's the Man' 3) Nope.... Footballers Wives if i'm not mistaken.
  23. It is quite remarkable. Starting to believe anything is possible.
  24. After seeing it mentioned on a Football 365 article on football fiction on tele, I found the DVD's on Amazon for both series and have been watching them over the last couple of nights. The premise is that a Woman becomes football manager at a never named second division side. She then tries to get to grips with the game. Cherie Lunghi carries the show as the lead and it provides a really quite excellent snapshot of the state of the game back at the turn of the 90's. It's not exactly high art but is certainly interesting.
  25. Personally I hope you are right. Michael Foot's incompetence essentially made Labour unelectable for the next 14 years. Based on their economic policies I would never credit Labour as being pragmatic so that level of idiocy with Ed Milliband's leadership would be excellent.
