Oh I remember that one. Somehow ended up parking just across the bridge from the main stand entrance on a grass verge, wasted an hour and a half trying to get into home pubs, dominated the Owls only to be pegged back by a Chris Brunt wondergoal and Mark Crossley running up field for that last minute corner, the moment he left his penalty area you could just tell what was going to happen....

Wayne Bridge second on F365's list of overcapped England players
Colinjb replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
I didn't write the original article. ....... But no, the top ten overcapped players, Beckham was genuinely able........ There are easily ten worse and Bridgey shouldn't be in that list for me. -
I'm not saying anymore..... you will enjoy it, just switch your brain off, enjoy the fan-service and remember that it isn't a piece of high art. I did get a few dodgy looks when I laughed during an 'emotional' moment though. This particular twist just didn't work for me.

Star Trek into Darkness. Firstly really enjoyed it. However, the films biggest strength is also it's greatest weakness. It is a massive piece of trekkie fanservice yet this also makes the film predictable. .. and some of the more emotional moments then become curious rather then gripping. Still looking forward to the Bluray release though. Would love to watch it again.

Delighted that David Moyes has been given this chance to prove his worth, always rated him.

Yep, done.

An excellent post. Cannot add anything extra to it.

Away to Sheffield Wednesday in 2000. Was originally going to a non-league game with Dad around Nottingham but it was called off while we were on our way up. So after looking in the paper we decided to keep going and see if we could get into Hillsborough. We did, but in the home end, the Spion Kop behind the goal. Surrounded by very partisan south yorkshiremen in bitterly cold conditions I managed to subdue myself when Jo Tessem steered in a penalty (with thanks to Dad whispering, "For f**ks sake shut up...." as soon as the net rippled....) Odd day, but was all smiles on the way home.

The guy who used to be at Wolves and ended up at Hamburg? If I remember correctly he was struggling to get into the team out there. Did used to look a good prospect though. Looking at the sides going (possibly) down. I would say Arouna Kone CDAJFU.

Never recovered from missing a sitter against us. Went from 0-1 up to 4-1 down.

Good thread. My thoughts can be found in my latest blog. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/entry.php?109-A-History-Shared-A-Saints-v-Sir-Alex-Ferguson-retrospective

Regardless of my feelings towards Manchester United, he is a legend of the game and if he does retire it'll be to the detriment of the English game. He is in his 70's now though, has a hip replacement due in August and may now consider that he is no longer 'physically able' to do the job justice. A move to stop Mourinho going back to Chelsea would be my bet although David Moyes will have earnt a chance at a club like Man Utd.

No. Great away day. Friendly people (chavs by the canal notwithstanding) and a decent club. Maybe a little above their natural level but I wouldn't begrudge their league position. Better those that are arrogant be gone over the smaller clubs that are generally grateful for their lot.

That was agony.... Great win for everyone outside of the bottom 3. Sod the top half, it was always about staying clear.

As mascots go.... Who am I kidding, we could find better in the Samaritan's bargain bin. His contract is up in the summer though.... just when that Bale sell on clause could have been sensational.

A place is a place. It wouldn't have bothered me personally, also that we earned it through 'Fair Play' rather then a pyrric cup victory based on crippling over-spending would have a certain beautiful irony to it.

Policy of not revealing injuries and players fitness
Colinjb replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
It was obviously something at the discretion of the manager rather then any club policy as things became much more open as soon as Pochettino came in. Will be interesting to see if Reading start behaving in a similar way. I could see the logic in keeping your cards close to your chest but it's not the biggest thing. -
Putting my logical head on, yes it would. Still feel a little disappointed though.
-
Not really. Just no specifics have been given leaving many people drawing false/conflicting conclusions.

In fairness, Carroll has been playing well since returning to fitness. Rickie hasn't exactly been on song recently either.
