No, I see what you are saying. But there have at times been posters on here who have been extremely vociferous in their opinions, stating to represent a majority (despite only being their own viewpoint/view of their particular clique) and being very aggressive towards those that disagree. You yourself have been very patronising towards other posters, including me (saying that Cortese must be my 'messiah...' once upon a time....) who have expressed a positive view of the chairman. You represent extreme viewpoints which you yourself often do not believe just to stir up debate on this forum.... if you want to do that it's fine, but it is essentially a form of trolling. Now there is a massive show of approval for the work that he is doing your opinion has seemingly mellowed. I wonder why.

No chance sunshine.

I didn't say surprise. I said interesting. Just further proof that those who shout loudest at times do not necessarily represent the majority.
-
Just a conversation with someone I consider credible, that's all.

True, but then if anyone had expected an online poll to have that effect..... More interesting to me is the support for the chairman from the fanbase. As you implied earlier, if he leaves now it will be while riding the crest of a wave.

Statistically one vote now will not make any difference to the overwhelming result.

Despite the contract aap3 have in place, I believe that another company will be taking on our sponsorship for next year. I could be wrong, just passing on what I have heard.

Have to agree. There is no point tying a ribbon on a lump of s**t. Yes, the ribbon is nice but it's not the priority.

Completely. Dealing in Hard Values we have excelled. The softer values are another matter and for a few they are seen to be very important.

Once upon a time that may well have been true, for me it was when Markus took over. Without Cortese there would have been no Markus Leibherr, now though there does seem to be something of a rift between Cortese and the Leibherr estate.

Saints 0-11 Stoke We'll cut it fine.

Hence the game of brinkmanship that we are now privy too.

From the role of an exile, I can only go on raw progress. It's been striking.

[h=1]If you just set out to be liked, you will be prepared to compromise on anything at anytime, and would achieve nothing.[/h]

With Ed in charge they will never maximise their chance.

Good idea. I feel the poll will be rather one sided. He may be a ruthless bastard, but he's our bastard. Would far rather have him on side.

Next season: Saints best ever chance to win the Premier League?

I'll have what you're having..... -
We cannot comment based on the West Brom game. Was still funny though.

Hardly a shock. Domestically a great manager but has achieved nothing at European level. For their ambitions to push forward it makes perfect sense.
-
Well blow me down. Palace are winning!

I only have one concern here. Nicola Cortese has always claimed that he wants Saints to be a self sustaining going concern. If this is about investment funds to push forward then that statement is somewhat redundant. Cortese has always been ambitious, he wants success, a raised profile for Southampton... and therefore his reputation being viewed in glowing terms. He needs money to do it and we havn't got the funds ourselves. Equally Markus' estate now see us as an asset and may be looking for control, when things are going well people will come out of the woodwork and want to be a part of things.... where were they directly after Markus' death? This is a game. Sit back and try to enjoy the view. At least the family do not want to sell us on this basis.

From a fellow city resident, I wish you luck. What has happened to Coventry City FC is a total disgrace.
