---------------K Davis---------------- Clyne-----Seaborne--Martin-----Shaw Puncheon--Cork--Ward-Prowse--Lallana ---------------------Rodriguez-------- -----------Lambert------------------- -----------------v-------------------- --------------Mayuka----------------- ---Lee--------Ramirez---------Guly---- ---------Schneiderlin-S Davis---------- Fox----Hooiveld-----Fonte------Yoshida ----------------Boruc----------------- Ok. Sub Richardson for Seaborne. We (england) have an agricultural but ok central defence and a team with a better attacking balance. The foreigners will dominate central midfield. Lee and Guly will enjoy running at the centre backs but not our full-backs. Our forward line will test Yoshida at full-back, he is the weak link in that defence. Mayuka will run at our centre-backs and look to bring Guly/Lee into play but will lose the physical battle. I see a win for the english side, but it depends on the centre backs performing. The foreign eleven will hold a lot of possession but our pace down the flanks will do enough to see us through.

Players who impressed you in the lower leagues who haven't progressed.

In fairness, he may be playing Premier League football at Cardiff next year. (Assuming they keep him despite his injury record.) -
Skate Campaigner: We need more pledges! Layman Skate: And what would my 1000 pounds pay for? Skate Campaigner: A single day's salary for David Connolly. Layman Skate: I'll pass......
-
I can picture it now. Skate 1: Right, we need new playerz innit. Skate 2: Well, we only got 100 faasand paaaands. Skate 1: F**k that, just spend what we want and write it off. Skate 2: Oh yeah.....

Why persist with likes of Fox when we could blood youngsters?
Colinjb replied to captainchris's topic in The Saints
Yep. The concept of a dead rubber game in the Premier League really isn't true. (Unless it's the final match and there are 4 points between you and the sides both below and above you.) -
Let the good times roll!

Can be a Saint or an opposing player. Watching the dire game that is Hull City v Bristol City (just how the hell are Hull second in the Championship?) at the moment, and the winger Adomah at Bristol City was always one that impressed me, yet he has stuck with Bristol and could be down in league one next year, he deserves better for me. Also noted that Sam Baldock is at Bristol City, a victim of Big Sam's striker stockpiling last season. Do any others stick in the mind?

Oh my!

Better to stick with a limited but willing senior then risk destroying a youngster's confidence by throwing him in too soon. Not every academy product, regardless of seeming potential, will be a world beater. -
No, you are the right person for this.... Over the last five years, teams with higher average attendances then the Skates at league 1 level....... GO!

Bravo, Bravo. Ha!

Since December I believe..... oh, they are sooooo ready.

As someone who was born 8 years after the event, I cannot agree with the sentiment. The DVD of the cup win is a regular view for me, and seeing the celebrations at the final whistle I cannot help but feel pride and a hope that we will experience similar again in our lifetime.
-
In a word: No. As the two are not intrinsically linked I cannot take the question too seriously.
-
This is evidently not the case. And the root of the problem.

I would quite enjoy the irony of Saints qualifying for Europe via the fair play league while the Skates had to resort to cheating their way to that FA Cup win.

I see the point you are making. I wonder if these are the same people who are training door to door salespeople to adhere to an extremely aggressive sales strategy in order to maximise 'donations.' Like so many things in this country, it's taken the initial spirit and gone too far. Large scale charities such as Macmillans are on the verge of losing all sympathy, regardless of the cause they represent due to their cynical and selfish profit driven sales tactics.
-
Quite right. It's not about being against charity, it's about knowing that your donation is not going totally to the cause. That a cut is being taken is for me immoral.
-
Charity is fine. Paying people on a commission basis to go door to door for their cause isn't.

Oh, I'm with you. Still, it's always funny when the arrogant implode.

For all those saying Alan Bennett, yes, he had a few nightmare games. His away performance up at Coventry was however heroic. He wasn't unremittingly bad. He was a reasonably young player trying to find his way. Those who where just draining the club for their final paycheques are the worst of the worst.

To further echo people's existing thoughts. Promotion from the Championship for me. To take the momentum from that incredible run at the back end of our promotion from League 1 and immediately translate it to the Championship was astonishing. Nigel Adkins ensured we carried the crest of a wave to the top of that league and then turned us around after an inclement festive period to ensure promotion. Halcyon Days.

It's always going to be subjective. If you are going on facilities, location and amenities St Mary's will always be at the top of the list. It is a perfectly functional facility right in the centre of the city it serves. If you are going for atmosphere, intimidation and character. No, we will not be up there by virtue of the stadium being relative sterile compared to old heaps like Loftus Road.... and even our old Dell. But that article is so terribly researched that really it makes no odds.

That's part of the problem for me, we do not play at a slow tempo, we are constantly pressing, moving, harassing. It doesn't suit Gaston who is still adjusting to the pace of the play we are trying to impose and it will not immediately suit Granero either. It's no mistake that Steven Davis looks better in our team at times despite not having the latent ability of a Ramirez.
