  1. They have experienced financial trauma in 1976 (raising money to avoid bankruptcy), 1988 (Selling the club to Jim Gregory to fend of bankruptcy after spending their way up the leagues, sound familiar?), 1998 (Mandaric taking them over whilst in administration), 2010 (First PL team to go into administration) and of course, 2012. So, in fact, you can argue it's 5 times. It truly is a culture down there.
  2. Birmingham? I've always found it ok. Well, it always helps that it's only a taxi ride to the train station and then a 10 minute ride away. F**k driving to the London airports and paying parking charges.
  3. Anyone else managed to finish yet then?
  4. Yes, I was flying to Munich for two weeks and followed the results at the departure lounge of Birmingham airport. Really vivid memories of that day.
  5. Far, far too premature.
  6. That's just the kind of refreshing candour that our own politicians would be too scared to come out with. Fair play to her.
  7. All of their effort went into the derby. Typical of that club to get their priorities horribly wrong. Far too caught up in their own sense of self importance and melodrama to notice the neck deep layer of sh*t they have found themselves in. I'm sure that point away at St Mary's will keep them warm while competing with Yeovil and the Franchise..... or more likely Havant and Waterlooville and Bashley.
  8. Now playing in Thailand #hashtag!?

  10. Just found this archive while google searching for a Crystal Palace forum. Maybe worth a read for anyone interested. A curious snapshot of how far we have come. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/archive/index.php/f-5.html?
  11. That's it! Thankyou.
  12. I am inclined to agree but I believe the player to bring out the best in Rickie is already here. His name is Tadanari Lee.
  13. So the Sh*tehawks are kingmakers. Best of luck to them.
  14. Wow, they truly are absolutely retarded. No sense of perspective or reason. The late draw was well worked by them, but to be hyped to such levels when their calamatous season is reaching it's innevitable result of relegation is simply deluded. I'm sure they will enjoy their rivalry with the Cherries next year, it could be running for a while. (Assuming they get to next season at all!)
  15. After the Euphoria of their late, late point. We sit 6 points from the Premier League. They sit 9 points from championship survival. WTFILN
  16. Someone links now and then to a website which shows the probability of final league position based on everything that has happened beforehand. I would be grateful for the address, thankyou. (I don't think it's Statto.com, i've tried looking for the data on there to no avail.)
  17. 1-3!!!!!!!!!! Shot fired into the ground loops in! Marvelous!!!!
  18. West 'Am have just scored one. Header from a corner.
  19. How many Skates are in the top 100, I wonder? Obviously justifying their wages.
  20. Guly Do Prado is the 69th best player in the league. That guy just exudes cool.
  21. Lets not run before we can count those chickens. #Insert cliché here.#
  22. As I say, different people react in different ways. Having been to some of the clubs you've mentioned, I strongly suspect that they have elements of support who react in the same way. Besides, I sit in the family end, maybe the mass swell of atmosphere in the Northam would have compelled me to react in a better way to the game. Group mentality and all that.
  23. I've no idea, I just know how I felt. I had not felt so nervous at a game since the start of the JPT final. It was quite paralysing. Different people react in different ways to situations, I cannot explain why I felt as I did, christ I wanted a win yesterday to avenge the last 7 years of those cheating f**ks lording it over us.
  24. Have to say that I and many people around me wanted a win yesterday so much that the nerves got to us. I am usually one of the loudest people in my part of the family end (yes, that sanctuary for the vocal....) but I could barely raise a cheer I was so tense. Only when the goals were scored or we have some clear chances paried did I respond.... and when it happened it was almost involuntary outbursts of emotion. The celebrations for the second goal showed that the spirit and determination of the fans was there but the occasion and what it meant for our season as a whole served to be self stiffling.
  25. Indeed. Hopefully the post mortem will rveal something about how the individual met their end. Could the fire have been to cover up the body I wonder?
