  1. Ah the attendance and support debate. It's a bit rich of a club who had FA Cup final tickets go to general sale claiming the upper hand to a club who set a Wembley Stadium record for attending fans from one club in the JPT final. (The Stadium capped the number we could have at 44k, fearing encroachment with the Carlisle end.) And as for the 'quality over quantity' statements. We were unanimously praised and applauded for our fan's commitment, noise (joint loudest singers in the premier league after St Mary's opened if I remember the polls correctly) and devotion during our FA cup run. As for 'intimidation and atmosphere,' the very same was said while we were at the Dell. But anyway, it's always difficult to take ayone seriously when they confuse AC and Inter Milan.
  2. The Saints are staying up.
  3. pfc123's trolling isn't up to the dearly departed Ho-bag's standards.
  4. Yes, so far I prefer our way.
  5. For anyone who hasn't received the e-mails. Fantasstic that this has finally been rolled out, coupled with 4od and Sky Go there's almost no need to invest in freeview for upstairs.
  6. How many tickets has this massive, massive club sold for the game at St Mary's?
  7. I'm probably in the minority with this one, but I may not renew if we go up. We would be televised in about as many games as this season and I have missed a fair few mid-week home games due to work commitments. The price of fuel is not helping and I would be able to follow Saints via the Sky services i'm already shelling out for. That's my logical head on anyway, emotionally speaking if we go up i'll naturally want to renew.
  8. Absolute proof that 6 wins from 8 equals promotion, 3 in 4. Our ratio through the season is 2 in 3. It would take a big crash in form to stop us now. (Touch wood.)
  9. God bless the football creditors rule.
  10. 5 in a row I believe. Wins at: Brighton Brentford Plymouth Barnsley Ipswich
  11. Hands off my pint, *****.
  12. Given likely injuries/gentlemens's agreements. My team: ------------ Lambert ----------------------- ----------------------- De Ridder ---------- Lallana ---- Cork ----- Schneiderlin -- Chaplow Fox ------ Hooiveld ---- Fonte ---- Richardson ----------------- Davis ---------------------- Incidentally, Donny are the only other team left in the league, after Leicester and Bristol City, who can do the double over us.
  13. Who cares. As Tatu once said: It's all about us.
  14. Imagine the riots if it was significantly raised to facilitate keeping sport such as F1 exclusively on the BBC. In fact, what would the raise required be to permit that? And premiership football? And the grand national? etc. I enjoyed the Sky Coverage. Was it as good as the BBC? No, but what is? Was it better then ITV? Christ yes. It was extremely thorough too, and gave you the ability to red button through to timing screens and the like. For F1 geeks like me, heaven.
  15. Good post. Big Fish trying to adapt, instant rewards are not always the case.
  16. How very familiar.
  17. Personally, it makes no odds to me. Most football chants are generic in nature and even the more individual ones (Rickie Lambert Southampton's goal machine....) have foundations elsewhere. (Torres at Liverpool.) At least the 'Stteeeeeeeeeeevvveeeeee' chant is diminishing. That was funny for 5 minutes at Coventry (and it was a guilty pleasure at that point, as was 'I wanna go home....') but is now rightfully going away.
  18. The scary possibility of us needing to win 3/4 of our remaining games to go up. We are currently just shy of a 2/3 ratio of wins. It's agonisingly close.
  19. Sing up Sky Blues!!!!!! When they sing together.....
  20. Any chance of making trhe MOTM poll a sticky chap? Many thanks. Good man.
  21. 7 wins from 8. That is the confirmed achievable (?) recipe for success. But we've got to do it first people! We are putting in the work, Nige' is drilling the players to keep their feet grounded but let's not fall into the trap of Wham and jeer or boo if expectations are not met. 8 games people, let's rally and push the team over the line. They need us and we need them to perform, let's control the controlables, starting with ourselves..... .....After the hangovers tomorrow morning anyway.
  22. Bullseye!
  23. He strikes me as a very much a confidence player and a very modest young man. "Just a fat lad from Sheffield" comments indicate that he may not be the most gregarious of characters. He will settle, he will prosper. He just needs to find his feet, it's a shame that he didn't hit the ground immediately running as promosied in his first game where he and Rickie looked to have established an immediate rapport. That miss against Wham is such a pity.
  24. We're top of teh League! We're top of the Leaaague! We are Southampton! We're top of the League!!!!!!
  25. Never! The alcohol prohibits it.
