Interesting. Didn't expect that, even though the rotation makes sense.... Feel a bit for Armstrong but he may be feeling the effects of his exertions two days ago. Hopefully Roy didn't see this teamsheet coming either.

The latest Star Wars was probably as good as it could have been. It would never have been able to please everyone. The only shame for me was that it ignored the most promising thread from The Last Jedi (an end to the black and white good/evil jedi/sith conflict.) Mind you, continuing that would have been a little too brave after the reaction to that film.

Did quite enjoy House of Fools a few years ago although it was very far from a classic and did rely on Reeves' weirdness often as much to it's own detriment as benefit. Quite telling that it was at it's best when Matt Berry and Morgana Robinson were on screen.

Right, treat this like an away game. Play to our strengths. Keep our shape, let them come at us (Which will be their inclination with Zaha down the wing, even though they enjoy countering just as much as we do). Keep things tight, when they start getting confident hit them on the break. I would take a point.

Odd thought. It's Boxing day and we have won more games this season then Arsenal.

Ralph's comment on Amazon: 'I had also lost my way.' We now have a settled side, who know their jobs and can work together effectively. That will not work against every team we play, but it gives us one hell of a platform to carry on with. That was delightful. Armstrong should have been MOTM for me, but that could have gone to effectively anyone out there for the work put in.

Best wishes to all on Saintsweb. May you all have a red and white Christmas and happy new year.

Our reactions to this say so much about how our club has been run for the last three years.

Three goals from 04/05 for me. Not just the Bent one, also Villa and Boro. After the Villa game I just knew we were down.
-
Boufal for Djenepo please.
-
I'm sensing a repeat of the 3-2 we had at Highbury back in 04/05. Really want to be wrong....

Happy to grasp anything right now. But, the performances from the team tell me we are only heading in one direction.

This. Spare me.

When thinking of the class of 2005 I feel nostalgic. Our current bunch make it very easy to do. That season we beat Liverpool and Spurs at home, the Skates twice at home. Had a reasonable cup run, played some decent attacking football at times and had Peter Crouch and Camara. This season we have.................... Erm............. Djenepo, Boufal and a win against a laughable bunch in League 1 who are meant to be our main rival. The crushing lows from 04/05 against Everton and Boro at home, Spurs and the Skates away have been blown out of the water by that game v Leicester. 2019/20 makes 04/05 look good.

Immediate future- where does this leave us?
Colinjb replied to saints-til-i-die's topic in The Saints
Things I take solace from: 1. We have more points then at this stage last year. 2. Our away form is ok. 3. In theory, our squad is stronger then this time last year.... In theory. 4. Moussa Djenepo -
Wasn't bad. To think, they were thrashed by a team who have a record top flight defeat.

Yes, Ralph out. Everybody out.

The perfect ending to a wonderful evening.

Sure, why not. That's how disaffected I am.

Well, if we are going to lose at least do it properly. Yeah, I have no idea...... But I'm choosing laughter over tears. And so are the remaining Saints. "Manchester City... We're coming for you!!!"

Oh look, late winner for AFC Wimbledon.
-
Or do they?

Going to say it: Would be happy with the point. (I'm sorry)

Frankly, considering location and the relative wealth of the area it's amazing that we have been the only club to have this infrastructure on the South coast for so long. A massive population and catchment area with great potential, it puts the folly of the Skates position into even greater focus seeing how they squandered their great opportunity to consolidate 10-12 years ago. Both Bournemouth and Brighton have built very astutely. In Bournemouth's case, why build a new stadium when the main money is from TV, Sponsorship and player sales? Maximising their academy and fundamental infrastructure is far more sensible then the tens of millions it would take to add 10-15k capacity to their home ground. The Stadium would bring some extra income but compared to the previously mentioned three factors it clearly isn't an immediate priority.

Obafemi would enjoy this game I feel.
