I would rather keep Will Still than hire say Michael Carrick or Gary O’Neill etc
-
But again, the question is say Will Still is sacked tonight, who is SR’s next target? Who do you see as a realistic target as manager? Which manager is going to look at Saints and go “yep that basket case of a set up I can work with”?
-
I think everyone is getting ahead of themselves if you think Spors and Sport Republic are going to bail on Will Still after ten games.
-
Aribo and a few others are out of contract. They’ll probably be let go on a free in January.
-
Ultimately nothing will change until fans stop going. And given that 99.9% of fans won’t do that it’s just business as usual.
-
What was actually said at the final whistle? Or was it just booing?

Damion Downs - Official: Loaned to Hamburg
Willo of Whiteley replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
I’ve not defended him, he’s been poor since he signed. But if you’re going to question his 25 minute cameo tonight where the entire team gave up I think you have to look at the players you favour (aka the other ten on the pitch). It’s fine to think someone is poor but you just have a vendetta against him, and actually in the grand scheme of things he was no worse than the players who played the majority of last nights game. To summarise, he was better than THB, he was better than Wood, he was better than McCarthy, he was better than Jander who all made big errors and had poor games last night. Are you going to hold them to the same account? -
Blackburn 2-1 Saints - Match Threads
Willo of Whiteley replied to Willo of Whiteley's topic in The Saints
Just go attacking. Mccarthy; Roerslev, Wood, Quarshie, Welington (if fit); Charles, Jander, Azaz; Scienza, Fellows and Armstrong. The front three in rotation with Azaz just behind should destroy Blackburn, but we know this isn’t clicking at the moment. -
Damion Downs - Official: Loaned to Hamburg
Willo of Whiteley replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Let’s be honest the entire team was shit after that third goal. They were all terrible. If you’re going to start commenting on Downs performance tonight then let’s bump the threads of the other ten players on the pitch and have the same debate. -
He won’t be sacked. SR aren’t going to admit another fuck up, and admit it yourselves - who do you bring in? And I mean seriously? Who looks at this now and goes “yeah I’m tempted”? Who are fans going to all get behind? There isn’t many out there.

I’m going to try and be rational. Saturday against Swansea was entirely on the players inability to score. Not Will Still. Tonight, three defensive errors was entirely on the players inability to defend. Not Will Still. The problem I have with him though is his lack of tactical prowess. There’s no clear way that we play, apart from underwhelming. We have players that supposedly can attack teams at this level yet we choose not to use them. We persist with three CBs, despite the fact it’s been proven for some years that every time we play like that we concede just as many goals, which begs the question why not have that extra attacking player up top on in midfield. This is where he does frustrate me. He isn’t learning.

As long as people keep attending games they won’t give a toss.
-
He isn’t going anywhere. Sport Republic aren’t going to sack him and effectively admit another mistake. Also in regards to this thread, who do you realistically expect us to get if he were to go? Good luck.
-
Expect the line up tombola to be in full flight for this game. Can see Downes, Stephens, maybe every Quarshie reinstated into the team, because let’s face it, he definitely isn’t switching from three CBs.
-
Sport Reoublic aren’t going to pull the trigger ten games into the season. It would be another admission of a fuck yo by them, another to add to the list. He’ll be here all season.
-
All three Bristol City goals have been defensive screw ups.
-
Bring back Ralph. JWP on loan in January. Get the band of 2020 back together.
-
Didn’t realise it would take to acclimatise when moving from the midlands to the south coast.
-
Mr Blobby would be an upgrade
-
He isn’t going anywhere unfortunately.
-
Azaz and Fellows have been amazing signings haven’t they.
-
Their ten year business plan probably involved several relegations, they’ve had two in four years. I don’t think promotion is on the agenda.
-
Can’t wait for five at the back against Blackburn. Solid set up.
-
He isn’t getting sacked, so all those chanting for Will Still to go may as well get over it now.
