There is no excuse for us not finishing top two. It’s very simple.

Probably a 7. A whole lot of changes, hopefully that will make their mark in a positive light. The only underwhelming thing is that players we’ve been looking to ship out for some time, some are either still here or only out on loan. It’s a shame we couldn’t have brought in a few more quid for some of these players, but wages were always going to be the stumbling block.

Now the international break. Just under two weeks to prepare for the must-win-at-all-costs. Hopefully we don’t do the “they’re only fit enough for the bench”, just play them. Too often you see new players make the debut from the bench; Azaz at the weekend I was pleasantly surprised. Imagine lining up against Pompey with the majority of our new signings starting and a four at the back formation.

I’ve never understood why deal sheets are allowed. Surely if you’re unprepared or leave it too late that’s on you? Why should anyone be granted an additional hour to get stuff signed off. Everyone knows for months when the deadline is 😂
