McCarthy; Jelert, Woods, Quarshie, Manning; Charles, Jander, Azaz; Armstrong, Archer, Scienza Best team we’ve got in a 4-3-3 formation. Fraser unfortunate to not be in that.

I think we were all taken in by Dragan Solak's comments in the summer, we thought the line had been drawn in the sand about what a shambles the previous few years had been. We are miles off of it. We thought we'd get ready-made players for this league and for the most part I think we do. Azaz, Fellows; even Scienza and Jelert are more than capable of performing at this level. But they also weren't positions we desperately needed, bearing in mind you still have Edozie and Aribo on the fringes, Robinson breaking through and plenty of other players that are more than capable for this position. The bit we have messed up on again is a competent and trustworthy goalkeeper and a striker. Ross Stewart is not it, yes he has been unfortunate with injuries but you can't be relying on promotion on a player that spends most of his time injured. Equally you don't bring in a striker to appease the fans who has done very little in general and still very young. I want a striker who has a bit of muscle, who pts his body about, who fights for the ball and tussles with defenders. Downs isn't it either. It is still very early days and it could all come together but honestly who knows, I think we'll be in this iffy phase up until new year and I think we'll finish stronger. I think we'll finish anywhere between 4th and 8th. We have good players, it just needs to click.

Ralph Hassenhutl is light years ahead of Will Still. That’s how far we have dropped back.
-
He’ll be offered a new contract in a few months out of sympathy for his injuries. He has done nothing of note in nearly three years to suggest his injury record will get better either or will develop into a semi-decent striker.

It was funny to see WestHamCentral post that after spending six weeks wanking off at the thought of him leaving Saints to join their club 🤣🤣
-
It’s almost become a habit of young promising players going to have their big money move and then returning to their boyhood club after they’ve had their peak or aren’t at the level they once were. I’m sure Grealish will go back to Villa, Trent will go back to Liverpool etc one day.
-
I think you’ve missed the point in the post entirely, but to answer your point - no, that isn’t acceptable. We go through the same posts week in week out on this thread but they only appear after a draw or defeat. Nothing is going to happen when the same posters write the same thing every other game. The same posters don’t need to reemphasise the same opinion after every draw. Their opinion hasn’t changed, we get it. Sport Republic have been crap, but they’ve invested. Ironically their best investments have been off the field with the fanzone and bits like that; it means absolute bugger all though when the footballing operation is crap. I’ll post the same thing again when we inevitably draw in our first game back after the international break.. 👍🏻
-
He’d be better off waiting for a few months, he’ll get a much better prospect if team and probably more money
-
Saints draw or lose a game - the “Sport Republic” thread roars back into life for a few days with the usual waffle. Saints win a game - the “Sport Republic” thread is mute, silent, nothing… Guess which phase we’re in now? 😂
-
He’ll be back in a job either going in January I reckon, post transfer window so he can’t be blamed for anything, and to try and build his own team the following season.
-
I’d be surprised if he went straight into another job. I’m sure he’s got a monumental payout coming 😂 I’d be going abroad in his position.
-
I admire how brave he was walking across the pitch to a back entrance to get in a car to avoid Rangers fans…. To run away!
-
I’ve already seen a couple of fans saying “BrInG hIm HoMe” 🤣
-
I think the questions need to be aimed at the higher ups than Will Still.
-
Any manager that plays a back five against a relegation threatened team should be a scalable offence. I’m really struggling to like him. A bit like Russell Martin when he was here, I want it to work but it simply isn’t. There hasn’t been a single good ninety minute performance.
-
I don’t buy all the “scar tissue” bollocks. These players are all overpaid for being terrible at their jobs. Half the squad is new, and some of the deadweight has been moved on.

Damion Downs - Official: Loaned to Hamburg
Willo of Whiteley replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
A striker that scores a good goal in pre-season and then goes anonymous afterwards. A condition known as “the BBD effect”. -
I’m sorry but we should be in Coventry’s position (on paper). Absolutely obliterating teams. I stead were playing a back five against a team in the bottom four, mental. That in itself should be a sackable offence.
-
Quite frankly that and the Middlesbrough game are both two points dropped. We should’ve beaten both.
-
Shower of shit. Most attacking squad in the league with no attacking prowess.
-
We stopped playing well when Scienza, arguably the most attacking player went off.
-
Ah ten minutes left, it must be the obligatory throw shit at the wall and hope it sticks, aka chuck every attacking player on and hope we score.
-
Can’t have too many “flair” players on the pitch at one time, or any for that matter 🤣
-
If we concede we aren’t getting back into it. If we score I think we’ll get a couple more and the floodgates will open.
-
Coventry will go up this season. They ended very strongly and carried on that momentum.
